@@JoeAchilles1 Which are the exact specs of the wheels and did you need to fit spacers? Is the set; 18X10″ ET20 & 18X11″ ET44? Or did you fit the ET25 at front? Thanks 👌
@@JoeAchilles1 I only watched the end of the video (conclusion), but it seems you fitted a shorter (maybe original) gear stick instead of the longer CAE? I personally think a shorter gearstick (like the standard fiited on M2) gives you more feeling and accuracy on shifting and feeling in which gear you are, but could be a personal thing?
My E46 has been sitting in my garage over 5 years now... My E90 transmission transmission died on me... And I've been working towards an M2 Comp for years now. So happy for you to have your car back, Joe. I hope to enjoy that feeling soon too!
Wow! Congrats Joe. 🎉she’s back with vengeance better than ever. Can’t imagine what that first start up felt like after all that time. She sounds sweet now. Purring beautifully! Definitely agree with the Bedford comment. Get straight back on that horse! Fitting that it’s should be the first track it sees after what happened there.
Great to see this car brought back to life again, Joe. I was there at Bedford when this happened and was really gutted for you. Thanks for your kind words about my E90 at 9:05. You're more than welcome to jump in for a lap when we bump into each other at another track day.
Really enjoyed that video Joe being a hobby mechanic! A lot of people won’t get to see these parts of the engine, how it all goes together etc. That moment when the engine starts for the first time after a big rebuild is really difficult to replicate, so many won’t quite understand the level of jubilation!
Fantastic to the M2 back, it’s my personal favourite! Still watching the video. Just wanted to say I think I’ve also managed to get a deal from the Berry BMW? Not from Tony but one of his colleagues. Believe it or not I’m from Aberdeen but they had the best deal, so I’ll be travelling down for my wife’s new car hopefully. We don’t have huge budgets but me and the wife will then have a 2017 M240i and her 2023 M235i - for us that’s a mega garage! Keep up the content Joe, especially M2! Love it 👍
I bet that was a good feeling Joe! It's great when a workshop like Swift let you in to see behind the scenes. Hope you have fun with it now it's had a freshen up
Congratulations on getting your M2 back on the road, Joe! I was really surprised to see Fabian stick the engine mount bolt into the rattle gun and blast it in. I always like to start bolts by hand to make sure they don't get cross threaded. But maybe I'm paranoid and it's not as easy to do as I think.
Let’s just say I am very careful in my M2C when downshifting when spirited driving. Been waiting a long time for this one. Congrats on getting her back 🙌👍
Great choice to go back to standard manual shifter, glad you have got this back on the road where it belongs, if you want an old E46 M3 following you in the Alps let me know 😁
@@JoeAchilles1glad to hear it. Interested to hear how you feel about just the Powerflex bush after some more miles as I have a Manual F80 and the shift is a disappointment.
Enjoy the car Joe it's been a while. Hopefully this will keep you well going forward now we are getting better weather so we can all get out and about.
@@JoeAchilles1 if I had the money spare I would love to buy one but for now I will have to stick with my mini r53 track/fast road build for the weekend toy!
Happy, happy days!! Can't wait to see you at Bedford with this, easy 2.36 lap traffic permitting 👌 If you still have your star marked cup 2 it might be worth swapping them over, I think they're quicker than the generic cup2 even when in smaller sizes. Hope to see you there 👍👍
So nice to see the M alive again and thank you for showing everything, I now feel more enlightened about my M2, but I can't share the love for the E90, I think this rear just doesn't fit with the overall concept, but luckily Different opinions, I wish you a lot of fun in the future in the Alps near me :)
Just in time for the decent weather blasts, we're all with you on that. Winter always seems the longest months for driving and car enthusiasts. Welcome back M2c. Question for the more knowledgable, I drive a Z4 m40i is the oil cooler underneath the main radiator like on full M cars now?
@@JoeAchilles1 glad to see the car back in one piece and the expression on your face says it all how you feel. I have mentioned before but you have struck gold with those lads at swift 🔥
Your hair wasn't grey when you blew it up but it is now, is that the 10 months or all of the stress? In all seriousness though, congrats on getting the M2 back on the road. Awesome job!
Congrats on being back on the road! Curious, what’s your thoughts on the Autoid splitter? I’m considering buying one but hesitant by them being located in the UK.

Incredible that with all the work done, stage 3, power increase, all the costs, you left old and not efficient oil cooler when it was already out anyway. New one from CSF is 500$? :-/
Massive thanks to the legends at Swift Performance - swiftperformance.co.uk/
