- For this journey I took ZSSK Sleeper from Bratislava to Košice. This service called R (Rýchlik / Fast train) Gemeran Poľana connecting Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia, with Košice (the second-largest city in Slovakia) and Prešov. This train runs on southern route along the Hungarian border.

Opět velmi povedené video. Oddíl je velmi pěkně a detailně popsaný. Sice není u žssk žádný extra luxus, ale vše co je potřeba je tady, vše je v dobrém stavu a ceny jsou taky lidové. Tak mají ceny nočních vlaků vypadat.
Mockrát díky! No je vidět že ty vozy jsou z 90. let, asi už by potřebovaly omladit, minimálně doplnit zásuvky a lepší zamykání dveří (podobně jako ČD WLABmee). Ale co musím pochválit je opravdu pohodlná postel a celkem dost prostoru v kupé :-)

Super video, škoda, že tam nedali staré WLAB to je zajímavější zážitek než ten novější lůžkáč.
Díky moc! Jo, taky jsem chtěl ten starší WLAB, zvláště když jsem to ještě týden před cestou přebookovával aby mi to dalo vůz č. 8, kde je.. ale ptal jsem se stevarda a prý ty nové jezdí v neděli, takže příště budu muset v týdnu :-D
@@PeteBrandy jak znám ZSSK tak si to stejně udělají podle sebe, nedávno jsem se jel projet na vyhlídkové trati Horná Štubňa-Prievidza a vyhlídl jsem si vlak, který měl mít starou klasickou soupravu a nasadili tam 813 jsem myslel, že mě jebne když jsem to viděl😀
To ano, asi to je o náhodě, ještě bych mohl Tatran-Zemplín, ale tam je to taky asi o náhodě..

Thank you! Nice, is it EC Báthory? Or is it night train? Than your train is a part of EN Metropol and then continue via Břeclav as Nightjen and then from Bohumín as IC Chopin :-)

I' ve also travelled from Bratislava hl St. to Vienna. Railway Station id rather nice clean but not amazing like in Praha ( for instans ). All the trip was super and I enjoyed this one ✋✋✋. Część Piotrek! Yes, the railway station in Bratislava is not as nice as in Prague, it needs renovation already. Greetings from Prague :-)
Bratislava Hlavna Stanica is very grubby & old it has always been like that before Slovakia became independent you would think that ZSR could apply for funds from the EU to renovate it years ago.
Planning my trip to Košice just now and your video popped up on google. Curious that there were singles available during your trip. They must be sold out on next Sunday's train.

I've never viewed a night train on TH-cam that served a decent meal or chilled sparkling wine or water.
In Poland, some night trains have a dining car, so there you can order a sparkling wine or decent meal :-)

Hezké video, z Bratislavy do Košic (resp. Humenné) jezdí ještě jeden noční rychlík, tak třeba příště s tím může být video :D

Thanks for watching! There was only a hot drink (coffee or tea) to choose. The breakfast package was the same for all passengers.

A nice trip.
Normally the train changes the direction at Nové Zámky station. Due to track works between Šurany and Levice, the train rides alternative route / detour via Štúrovo. (pity the night, the Štúrovo - Levice branch line offers some nostalgia feelings)
I would like answer the other question of the viewers, but I am lazy to write separately.
No dining car:
no demand for, or the demand does not offer an enough profit for it. Our costumers are satisfied by "párky a pivo" (wiener & beer) from the station buffets.
No couchette:
once again, knowing, who are the main costumers on this train, they book 1st class sleeper (the expensive option) or standart coach (the cheapest option).
And this is the reason, why are there open saloon coaches... some passengers, always two, locked the 8 seat (2 benches á 4) comparment for themselves and the later passengers overcrowded the corridors... Then the railway company got decided, only:
sleepers
open space 2nd
luggage van
(however, I remember from my student ages, that the standart night train used to be sorted of sleepers, 2nd class couchettes, 1st class seat comparment, 2nd class seat comparment and a luggage van, sleepers and couchettes had a steward and the passengers would buy snacks and drinks from the steward's cabin.
The company, as others all around the World, is cutting the corners. They cannot have fully staffed / equipped coaches, if the Eastern wealthiest costumers are poorer than the Western European poorest...

Btw. The original reason for my trip was the WLAB sleeper cars, but it wasn't until I was on the train that I found out that on Sundays the line is operated by the newer WLABmee cars. But it doesn't matter, I'll choose a different day next time :-)
when I went in January from Bratislava to Košice with this train, It was the old one. It was not a pleasant ride. But I hope that this newer train will be more common now than the old one
Pekné video :) Už dlhšie sa chystám spodnou trasou (ja som zo SNV). Veľká škoda, že cez deň nejde ďaľší vlak, ako kedysi - vidieť okolie, stanice. Pred necelým mesiacom som chcel ísť tým nočákom - ale opačne - Z KE do BA. Na poslednú chvíľu som to zmenil a šiel hornou trasou zo Spišskej. Dôvod - najprv by som rád videl okolie :) Avšak verím, že raz skúsim aj nočný vlak :)
Díky! Já jsem jel spodem z Bratislavy do Košic a pak ráno Tatranem z Košic do Žiliny, odkud jsem pokračoval Ostravanem do Prahy :-) Jediné co mě mrzí, že zrovna v neděli, kdy jsem cestoval, jely místo starších WLAB tyto novější WLABmee, takže se nedaly otevřít okna..

I'd like. Originally I booked this train due to old WLAB coaches, but there was no info about change of composition on Sunday's trains :-D
The window views look fuzzy. Are the windows plastic? Your presentation is top notch nevertheless.
Thank you :-) Unfortunately, the windows were dirty, so it was quite difficult to shoot some window views (so my camera therefore had a problem with focusing).
I took this train in the opposite direction from Kosice to Bratislava on the way back from Uzhhorod. It's good to see the price is still roughly the same. Personally I think the value is pretty good considering you save on a night's accommodation. Not sure if they still do it but felt like there was some stuff going on at Zilina because the noise woke me up.
I think the same that the value is pretty good. As for your journey, there are several night trains between Košice and Bratislava. Your train was probably a night train to Prague with a direct car to Bratislava, this train continues in a different way (from Žilina in the direction of Ostrava), so the through car to Bratislava was disconnected at the station Žilina and then joined the RR (Regional Express) to Bratislava.
@@PeteBrandy Ah that makes sense. I'll definitely be taking this train again if I can work out if I try to minimise the time in Hlavna Stanica. Never been harassed by so many beggars in my life!

Děkuji moc! Vlak přijel tuším z odstavného nádraží (z depa). Dříve vlak začínal ve stanici Bratislava- Nové město, ale nyní jezdí z Bratislava-hlavná stanica. Zdravím z Prahy :-)

S nočními vlaky mám zkušenost jen s rychlíkem Excelsior, který bohužel zrušili. Do spacího vozu mi lístek neprodali, tak jsem si kupoval vždycky jedničku (jezdilo AB) a srazil jsem si sedačky, takže takový provizorní lehátko. Celkem nechápu, proč tak ruší noční vlaky. Například padne 21. hodina a z Trutnova se vlakem už nedostaneš, protože poslední jede ve 20:40.
Je to škoda, že u nás nejezdí žádné noční vnitrostátní vlaky, třeba z Chebu do Stravy apod. Myslím, že klientela by se našla a klidně by tam stačily i ty starší WLAB, co mají ČD jako záložní. V tomto je to na Slovensku lepší, ještě jezdí noční vlak severní trasou (Tatran-Zemplín), odjížděl chvíli po nás.

Nice, jen nechápu proč je to locked kd zbytku vlaku
Je to hlavně kvůli bezpečnosti. V noci mívají noční vlaky v některých stanicích delší pobyty (např. kvůli přepřahu) a mohl by se dovnitř dostat někdo nežádoucí. Třeba v Nové Zámky steward zamykal i dveře pro nástup do vozu.
Jen jakým mobilem a kde stříháš a natáčíš

Ahoj, dokonce jsem to začátkem léta plánoval, ale pak jsem viděl že už to točí i někdo další z Česka, kdo má mnohem větší sledovanost, tak jsem to nechal na příští rok :-D

The Czech and Slovak languages are similar, but some words are different. Otherwise, the two nations are still close, e.g. to this day some TV talent competitions are shared and broadcast for both countries.

Skusil som tiez a mne sa pači hlavne to že väčšinou davaju stare vozne a dokonca co som šiel v tom WLABee mal nabijacky a USB-230 :Dddd
Mě se letos také povedlo na R Zemplín jet vozem WLAB, a měl již také elektrickou zásuvku :-D

I like trains in several countries, e.g. in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland and of course in the Czech Republic.

Trať od Zvolena do Košíc je v žalostnom stave, našťastie to Pete Brandy prespal.
Zas to tolik neházelo, asi tím, že to nejelo moc rychle. Mnohem horší je vestanočím vlakem do Polska mezi Bohumínem a Katowicemi, tam se často nedá ani udržet na posteli :-D
Nejvic se mi libila ta lokomotiva na konci videa. Brejlovec, slusny rozjezd. Jen nevim, zda jeste jde stale o rychlik Gemeran. Rychlik Generan jsem videl i v jinem videu a prave s Brejlovcem. U nas uz jsou Brejlovci postupne vyřazovany z osobni dopravy, vozi vetsinou uz jen naklad.
Brejlovec 757 jede v úseku Zvolen - Košice (od nového grafikonu už by vlak neměl pokračovat do Prešova). V Česku Brejlovci 754 ještě dosluhují, ale Brejlovci 750.7 by měli dostat ETCS, takže ještě nějaký čas jezdit budou
@@PeteBrandy Jo potvrdil jste to, co pisu. Postupne jsou vyrazovany z osobni dopravy. Vidavam, je vozit pres Tesin uz jen nakladni vlaky. I tu by to melo skoncit. Uvidime, zda 750 tky dostanou ETCS. Brusel ryje do vseho.
