    I already have my case full off cuts but didn't go through yet. It sure looks a lot stronger but is this lever strong enough if you hit a big rock or fall on the lever?

      easy B motonet the teeth are the main problem, so especially if you use the Rade tip I'd say for the most part yes. If you ride the 690 in nasty offroad conditions where falls are imminent, plastic cover protectors are a good idea. There is a lot of case poking out and a lot of weight hitting things. I have a huge Full coverage Adventure Spec skid plate and it has a lot of damage considering how little off-road riding I've done. The big bike hits stuff hard and it doesn't have a ton or ground clearance. Especially after a lot of people lower them.
      This weight = damage can also be seen in how easy it is to bend the bar mounts/bolts in pretty simple crashes.

    I finally got a clean speed brake lever pedal. Did the job the peg bent beats 128 plus later an save 100 dollars each time I mess it up or fall over.

    i was just wondering 2 hours ago how i could improve that weak but agressive little thing ! (twisted as soon at it touch the ground, when the articulated-one of my 600 XLR didn't cause any problem in 32 years) Thank you John for the advice !

      They have some legit parts. If I ever need another skit plate, I'll probably opt for theirs.

    You might want to invest in a Clake Two hand brake and clutch lever and get rid of the food pedal all together. I've made the switch and I do not miss the foot brake one bit, in fact I always hated the foot brake since I was very young and wish I could have a hand brake instead and now I have it, the only down side is it's pricy and you need some good wrap around hand-guard to protect them like the Highway dirt bike brand with the big bolt system. I especially like it because when you pull in the brake it pulls in your clutch so the bike never stalls, and now I can lock my rear tire and skit on both sides way easier.

      Christian Williams I'm somewhat on board with that. I've never used the Clake although I did ride a bike with one, but never used it. But... my KTM Freeride (and scooter) have a LHRB and I kind of fell in love with it.
      My problem has been jumping back and forth between bikes. My MX bikes will likely never have a LHRB until the electric MX bikes come out. When I get going fast MX speeds my brain goes back to 30 years of muscle memory and looks for a rear pedal. It's nearly taken me out a handful of times. Even after a month of using only a LRHB and thinking I was 100% adapted to it, I still stab at an invisible rear brake pedal when I get out of shape in the air or sometimes on the ground.
      I'd have to convert all the bikes and that wouldn't be practical or affordable for me. Plus the LHRB is harder on my bad wrist. I'm certainly not apposed to them like many haters out there. I think there's a lot of benefits to having it on the handlebar instead of the foot. Corner dragging is huge.

    After you installed the RG lever you didn't show a top view. I'm curious of the spacing. How has it held up?
    Thanks

      In hindsight I might have cut it off shorter and re-drilled and tapped. I like short levers anyway. I'm always rushed for time though, so this was the fastest way for me to have a rideable bike again.

    Hi man, I put a RG brake pedal but I have one question, Did you tighten the screw of the pedal?? Because I didn't remember if the old was very tighten or only to hold the pedal and put the loctite?

      Not sure which one you're referring to, but everything was tightened and threadlocked except for the adjustment screw which has it's own jam nut.

    It's is a shit design. I knock my bike over oh shit, I said to my self wonder how long it takes to destroy what i have seen already on TH-cam, lol, finally twisted it an put a nice dent in the case. Time to get new brake pedal an maybe a case with a guard.

    • @JohnHowerton137
      @JohnHowerton137  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I agree. If there is no hole in the case just put a thin bit of quicksteel putty on it and nstall the guards and a better pedal. Bike has enough mass going down it can break anything sometimes.
