Clarification on the 2020 Corolla Hybrid battery pack versus 2020 Prius. I said they're the same, but it depends on the Prius. Corolla Hybrid uses a 1.31kWh nickel-metal hydride battery pack. AWD Prius models use a 1.31kWh nickel-metal hydride battery pack. Front wheel drive Prius uses a 0.75 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Prius Prime uses an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
My parents bought I one years ago and lasted them 20 years. They never had a problem. We ended up trading it in for another Toyota. I just bought a 2021 hybrid. Getting from point A to point B is all I care about. I hope it lasts 20 years.
This was probably one of the best car review videos I have ever seen. The muzak was not annoying and the overhead shots were a nice touch. Incorporating the visit to the art space kept interest while imparting all of the critically important information. BRAVO! I am trying to decide between the Corolla Hybrid and the C-HR. I am on my second Prius and ready for a change. This was helpful.
First, you were kinder regarding the front end styling than I would have been. Second, while not the sort of vehicle I'm into at all, it's exactly the sort of thing my non-enthusiast friends are always asking me about. Thanks for checking it out so I don't have to.
Excellent pragmatic commentary 👍 perhaps the only concern, which was not discussed would be the safety features compared to a somewhat bigger vehicle. I suppose it may be worthwhile to compare it to a hybrid Camry. Nevertheless, it was very impressive cost wise 👍
Carmen, keep in mind that you bought a brand new car during the chip shortage. Due to the chip shortage, there are a lot less cars on dealer lots which means dealers are not discounting the cars.
Hello Road / Ethan Tufts nice, that’s great mpgs, without ac it may do better if your by yourself driving around.... have to use ac with the kiddo and wife
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review! Yes the newest gen Prius has a Power mode. It doesn't really seem to affect acceleration that much, though it does change the throttle response.
I bought this last July and I can bet it doesn't give 52 MPG - IT DOES NOT. I kept a track of mileages before and after filling up the tank. I feel sorry if you trust the odometer which does show 52 MPG or 52+ but it just doesn't give that. I can confidently say it gives around 33 to 37 MPG depending on your driving style. BTW I'm not an agressive driver.
I drove my Corolla HB for a year and half now. It indicates that i get 56.5 mpg. And my calculation of fuel use is close to the number. I drive about over 600 miles per month and i get about 25~30 days with each full tank fill (slightly less than 10 gallons.) If you get less than 45 mpg with this vehicle or even 50, there is something wrong with that car or your calculation for sure. I can bet on this.
Need 10 years to cover the prices different, may can save 3xx per year, need 10 years to cover the different between petrol only model and much slower .
Corolla la la! I think the front is a tad bit overstyled, but having some of the best headlights in the game is a PLUS! Also, driving on that dirt road looked fun.
Haha! Tough call, both are good cars. Insight is much quicker off the line, a bit more fun to drive, and has a slightly nicer interior. But the Corolla Hybrid mops the floor with the Insight when it comes to MPG, and it's cheaper.
Unless you like its compact size it's a better value and not always more expensive to upgrade to a Camry hybrid. Especially since the covied crisis of twenny twenny many Toyota dealers over ordered So there is More often then not an abundance of them sitting on dealer lots. Also the Camry hybrid will hold its value a little better than the karolah well. Don't get me wrong the Corolla hybrid is an excellent choice Especially when compared to the unproven and mostly unreliable Honda insight. My 2020 Camry hybrid In LE trim came in just under the 24K mark out the door. The original Sticker price was 29K. There is such a large dealership network here in South Florida that I was able to get the dealers to bid Against each other a. When they all hit their bottom price they started throwing in goodies such as free Oil changes And tire rotations for 5 years and lifetime free car washes. I have no intention on going back for the oil changes and it's very rare that I would ever let them wash my car either but it was just short of making them Offer to perform fellatio On me to get the deal. I don't think I would take them up on that either?
Why would Toyota include Apple and not Android ? That makes no sence at all....even the cheap Mitsubishi Mirage G4 has both...if you figure half the people have either Android or Apple....your excluding half the population.....Smart..
First the Santa Fe, now a bloody Corolla? What happened to your quirky cars? Last I checked you had a few of those. I understand TH-camrs gotta eat, but this just does not fit this channel! It's a shame really because I really enjoy your videos about your fleet.
Literally my last video was about my Liam Nissan themed race car. How is that not quirky? 😀 That said, I like to check out new cars too, especially if they allow me to take a road trip to a unique location. Travel will always be a part of my channel. I haven't given up on my fleet of weird vehicles. More vids on the Prizm, the 944 Turbo, the Grand Prix, and the Nissan Stanza are coming soon.

its the perfect car for folks who want the economy of the prius and none of the associated smugness of the prius model name and design.

I'm sure it will..
My mom has a 2003 Corolla with 260,000 miles. No major issues still runs strong. I'm working hard to gift her a 2021 Corolla Hybrid 😁
People keep saying it looks boring but I love it.
I'm French and I'm lucky to have the break version. It is quiet, comfortable and well equipped with a huge trunk. An excellent car to go to work.

Got mine, but 2021 corolla hybrid model.....great! had a 2018 Nissan Leaf...another great EV, but limited mile range made me rescind it.
Thanks for the video! As a Toyota mechanic, I agree with everything. Great car!
Thanks so much for watching!!

I bought a 2017 Corolla XSE fully loaded used and I love it I think it handles well and I think it’s decently fast for a compact car
Valuable review., it must have taken long time to get this video done. Thumbs up and subbed
Does this vehicle have an EV mode?
Awesome Review and great production all around!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀😀😀😀

I been driving this car for 1 year this April, I drive to san Clements every day from Anaheim, it's a great car.
I paid 26,380.00 for a Toyota Corolla Hybrid in Los Angeles county in May 2021, basic model Out the door price. Did I pay too much?
If that includes tax, reg and doc fees, seems pretty good?
Yes, out the door. Thank you, that makes me feel better.
Carmen, keep in mind that you bought a brand new car during the chip shortage. Due to the chip shortage, there are a lot less cars on dealer lots which means dealers are not discounting the cars.
@ 9 MINUTES THEREABOUTS, WHOSE WAS THAT VERY COOL BACKGROUND MUSIC?
Great review!
Thank you! And thanks for watching! :)
Amazing footage and review! Subbed
Thank you! :) :)
Great review
Great video , thank you!
If you look at the euro market Corolla, it is simply gorgeous. It looks like a mini Camry. I have that corolla and I love it
Does it have an aux cable for a Sirius radio tuner or does it have Sirius built in
Awe the baby was so cute 🥰 forget about the Corolla.
That sculpture garden is trippy...
Can u tell me what sunglasses u have??? I just ordered my toyota corolla hibride 2021 in France. I hope it will be a good choice....
They're just some cheap generic sunglasses I found on Amazon, I think they were less than US $10 :)
Hi
How many miles of range do you get in a full tank?
You can get up to 600 miles a tank
I love this review! Question... How tall are you about, since you sat in the rear seat.
Thanks!!! I'm 6'3".
Hello Road / Ethan Tufts Ok thanks, I just asked because I was debating on the size. I’m about 6’0. Definitely buying a Corolla Hybrid. I like silver.
@@HelloRoad OK so to be fair, you're taller than most people in America and the world. So leg room might be better for other people in the back.
Nice review Ethan
Thank you! :) :)
Awesome review! Did you use A/C?
Thank you! Yes I used the A/C, works great (but just about all new cars have good A/C)
Hello Road / Ethan Tufts nice, that’s great mpgs, without ac it may do better if your by yourself driving around.... have to use ac with the kiddo and wife
@sanju2 😬
Heard a reviewer say that it’s actually more efficient to use the a/c because lowering the windows ruins the aerodynamics. Wonder if that’s true.
@@Groveland64 not true at all, I have tested this 3 times
The only thing I want to upgrade on mine is the 15" wheels to the 18".. : ) Drives great, love it!
No power seats just mean one less thing to go wrong
Prius had a power button, did you try it? I think this one have it too, try it. I'm getting one in a week or so. Awesome review.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review! Yes the newest gen Prius has a Power mode. It doesn't really seem to affect acceleration that much, though it does change the throttle response.
where r the rear vents?
Good question!
Great Talker - thank you !
Great view, wish they made an XSE trim for the hybrid model
That would be cool!
My favorite car in planet earth is an 07 Escalade .But the mpg is gonna suck me dry like a single mom in heat.
The corolla hybrid might bring the sales of the base model Prius down. It has the same power train and looks so much better.
What Type of Gas ?
Just regular gas, premium not required
Great car for Uber or Lyft drivers. Even though I don't advocate driving for either of those companies.
Can you go up mountains with this

You might not be an aggressive driver, but you are driving it wrong if you end up with those numbers.

my new kia ceed 1.5 petrol does 55 mpg lol. this hybrid crap is a scam
@@seanyoume1183 you get same mpg as my new kia ceed. so why buy a hybrid? all a scam this crap is

Grill is perfect for catching every moth on a warm summer’s night. 😂 I like the car, straight forward, good value. Corolla or Insight?

NO Android Auto? Even the 2020 Rav4 now has Android Auto. Not having it is a deal breaker for me.
Yeah it's kind of weird. My guess is they add it for 2021.
Can you still be able to connect to Bluetooth and still stream music without android auto?

nice review! but be more friendly for non-us users.
Measuring fuel economy without driving pump to pump is nearly meaningless.
