Awesome! It’s very fun. Just has to run hot ammo otherwise it’s a jam removal training tool 🤣😂. The good news is anything I’ve shot out of is subsonic. Which can?
Great review and a fun gun for sure! I have one and man, as you said, that double action trigger pull is a bear. However, as a trigger finger workout, it will pump you up! No matter, it is just a blast to shoot.
Hahaha! I love the pump you up reference!! 😂🤣. Yah it’s just a cool gun. I’ve thought about getting a 380 version but I’d probably only ever use it for plinking and this is just fun! Thanks!!
I had one of these and so wanted it to work. I could never get through a magazine without a failure. Using cci mini mags. Sent it back to Walther 3 times. Each time it came back “fixed”. I wish. After the 3rd return tried it again. Same thing. That was the last time I tried it. Sold it on the way home from the range. Frustrating!
Oh dang that is frustrating. I had similar issues with mine though not with cci mini mag. I did get a new mag for it and that seems to work better and for what ever reason, this thing loves Remington thunderbolt. No clue why but you are right, it is very picky.
The HEAVY DA trigger is unacceptable. It defeats the whole purpose of the pistol. I am seeking MONEY BACK under WARRANTY. Walther should NOT be putting them on the market.
fun good review, the suppressor you are using can be cleaned good, the Remington thunderbolt is a good round for practice? Hornaday have you tested for say a defense round.
Yes thunderbolt is a good practice round. I’ve tested federal punch, cci velocitor and mini mag and those work great. I’d go with one of those for a defensive round. And thank-you!
These are $350 now (December 2024), but I would go with a lower cost Phoenix Arms HP22A over this model. Even though the HP22A is limited to standard velocity ammo, it's way less picky about ammo brands. However, the HP22A has all those weird safeties, and the Walther behaves like any other semi auto.
I'm still looking for a remedy for the horrible DA trigger pull. Someone posted that the .380 and .22 share many common parts. Tried a set of 4 lighter hammer springs for the 380. They fit, but too many Failure to Fire events. Went back to the original. After 500 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag, never had another reliability issue with any other ammo.
I’d definitely suppress one of these if I picked one up. Definitely a classic little pistol. Shot an old PPK over in Switzerland many years ago. Snappy for what they are. I imagine the rimfire versions would be very pleasant of course.
That’s really cool to have shot an original!! Yah I hear the 380’s aren’t that much fun. But if I’m not mistaken they were in 32 acp first and that was the version Ian Fleming had for bond. Definitely not a high powered round, lol, but probably more enjoyable to shoot! Yah 22 is just right and given its primary use is fun, it makes sense. Take care!
😂😂😂. Well and his 32 acp wasn’t much of an upgrade from his old beretta but 25 acp (his old Beretta) was pretty much 22 lr but slightly improved reliability.
And this one isn’t even really Walther. It’s made by umerex (sp?) for Walther. With hotter rounds it’s been better for some rounds it just doesn’t work.
James Bond didn’t use a 22LR though
lol. Nope. Pretend. At least they are making them in 32 ACP again!
Good video😂👍👍👍👊
Thanks my friend and thanks for getting my humor!
Nice! I just ordered one of these to test a new 22lr suppressor

Where did u buy the thread adapter from?
@MrGoofySir I think I got mine from silencer shop.

@@triggerbarPhD They have now come out with the PPK or PPK/S in the original .32 caliber. One of my fave but often overlooked calibers.
@@chuckvt5196 oooh, yah that would be fun. The original 32!!

Frustrations! Glad yours works and that you found its sweet spot. Quality little pistols.

@smitty5968 I can see that. I think it’s about 15-20 lbs. Way past my trigger gauge.
@@triggerbarPhD Saw a guy on another video measure it and said it was 17 pounds.

Yah that DA trigger is basically a safety. Way too hard. Would love to hear if you ever get a solution!
@@triggerbarPhDis the trigger only this heavy on the 22 version?

Tea cup it to avoid. slide bite.
PPK,s were designed for the .32 acp. They shoved the .380 into it for increased sales. Kinda snappy with.380, but actually really nice in .32 acp.
If bond had this gun in the movies, he’d be dead

I have the black version which I ccw cci stingers with an extra mag.
Nice! The black one is legit.
"do you expect me to talk?"
"N...BANG💥‼o"......"Mr." BANG💥‼"Bond. I" BANG💥‼"expect you" BANG💥‼"to" BANG💥‼BANG💥‼ "die."
🤣😂
Did you ever meet a caliber you didn't like? ... Bar, Trigger-Bar
Nope! Barely any guns I don’t like either!!🤣😂🤷♂️
Slide bite, picky as hell, and a bitch of a double action trigger pull. What's not to love? lol HARD PASS.
lol. Bbbbbbut James Bond!! 😂🤣
