I just watched 3 other videos on who to paint for beginners and none of them hold a candle to how well you explained the paint, texture, and how to hold a brush. Thank you thank you thank you!!
My daughters and I had a painting party last night. We used another artist's video as a guide. We had great fun, but I think we all agreed that we didn't need the unnecessary and irrelevant repartee between the artist and her cameraman. I We still had great fun, and were pleased with our results. But I think I can learn a lot more about painting in acrylics watching your videos Thank you for encouraging me to get back to what I love most--creating art! Janet
You're process of instruction is fabulous! I so appreciate your awareness of your audience. You make me want to continue to explore painting. Thank you!
I love your step by step painting technique. By you explaining each step and making it look simple, that in turn has helped me overcome my "I can't do that" frame of mind. Thank you.
I used to paint over 20 years ago but fell out of practice. Your channel and methods make me seriously want to pick it all back up again! I think I'm going to try this beautiful moon and tree for my daughter. So glad I found you!!!
Jane i have never painted in my life. I cant even draw a stick person seriously. My daughter had some brushes here and paint so I watch your video and thought I would try. My husband came in and ask were I bought the painting he could not believe I did it. You are great with instructions and I love that you explain why and how to use brushes. Thank You . I can't believe I can paint.
I have watched many tutorials on painting with acrylics and I have to say your's is one of the best. Which discounts the saying "those who can Do and those who can't, Teach. You can Do and you can Teach. Thank you Jane
I've been struggling with finding my 'style' of painting, I tend to use a lot of brush strokes and it can look quite messy. You are so good at describing what you're doing, it really is helping me to enjoy putting paint to canvass rather than struggling with each stroke. Thank you so much.
I LOVE painting with you. This is one of the first paintings I did 4 yrs ago when I started painting. I loved watching it again & will do over. Thank you
I cannot thank you enough for creating your channel. I have wanted to paint ever since I was a child and I now at 52 getting to do this dream. Thanks for all your tutorials
Thank You for making these videos. I have seen a few and decided I would try Mystical Moon. After watching it a couple times I winged it instead of painting it step by step with the video and am very happy with the result. This was only my second painting, obviously this is all new to me and I've learned a lot from your videos. They are well made and full of great information, and You are gorgeous which makes them even more pleasing to watch. Thanks again!
Jane, the really turned out so well done. You make painting look fun. I over design ideas for paintings to the point that I never get out the paint. I feel that I have done it so many times in my head that I never get to the canvas. This was fun to see how it all came together. Now, I know that you answered a question about Bob Ross. You also mentioned when you were a young girl (a few years ago) you and your mom watched Bob Ross and Bill Alexander. I did the same many years ago. Bob Ross had such a soft, pleasing voice that would always put me to sleep. I wanted to watch, but after coming in from working outside, I would relax, watch him, and then fall asleep and miss part of the program.Confession, After starting work at one thirty this morning on an emergency call, after a thunderstorm, I came back at noon, sat down to the computer, turned on this video, and you guessed it,. Your soft, calming voice put me to sleep. The video was interesting, but I was warn out from the early morning job. I will need to watch parts of t his again. This was a great demonstration. thank you.
My friend & I painted this one. You are right when you say the black can get away from you & take over the painting. But I still think our paintings came out okay. I posted a picture on facebook. Thanks for you wonderful videos.
I love the music during this video....it helps concentrate and be at peace while watching. Thank you. I seemed to absorb information so much better with calming music playing.
Hi! Jane! Am a 15 year old kid...and am really amazed and astonished by yr paintings and videos....actually I hav recently started doing canvas painting with oil colors.....so I request you to please keep oil painting canvas tutorials ..please?
Thank you so much for showing how to pick up different colours and create that amazing brush strokes.. now I can use this technique while practising other paintings.
Just want to say, I recently found your site, and LOVE your style and your teaching ability. I have spent years 'wanting' to paint, and after watching your Mystical Moon video, I've actually put brush to canvas. I feel like I am in kindergarten; at age 68, it is a good feeling to have something brand new to do. Thank you for your inspiration.
i just started painting and i been playing it off for awhile cause i thought il be hopeless at it, since i know absolutley nothing about paintin but you made it less daunting then it appered to me and i learn alot from this one video so far, so many thanks, loving the videos!!
I love the way you have done this painting. Not sure if you realized it but at about 10:21 into the video if you look at around the center of the canvas you can see a little girls face in the painting. So kewl.
Thanks for taking the time to really show and explain what to do. I’m just learning to paint and have never taken a class or anything but you make it so easy to understand and follow. It makes it possible for someone like me who has no experience to be able to start somewhere.
I just did the mystic moon painting. Love how you take the time to explain everything and you are not speeding through the paint process. You are showing us the brushes and how to use them. I have a hard time with trees and the brush strokes. I will be painting with you more often!!
Beautiful! I love how you take your time and actually allow us as the followers to follow each step. So many videos go way to fast and its easy to get lost or behind.
+Chelsea Frustaglio Thank you, Chelsea! I know, that was one of my main frustrations when I was first learning how to paint. When I started making videos, I wanted to make sure that I gave as much information as possible. I'm so glad you like it :)
+Painting with Jane This technique is so amazing! Like you mentioned just try slapping some colors over your palet and you can create a beautiful canvas! I'm a late starter in the acrylic painting world lol. My mom and brother and late grandma are fabulous painter's. My mom and I started going to these small classes in town and I was hooked! I bought a small easel, paint, and brushes! I love to paint!
You are an amazing teacher. You have got me painting again, although not the best, I'm loving it. I love how you explain things in detail. I'm definitely a beginner and need the steps and the encouragement. Thank you for sharing and your help! Trying this painting tomorrow!❤🎨
I just watched your Blazing sun. I've been looking for something to paint to put on my patio and the Sun would be perfect. my house is light yellow, and i use reds as my accent colors. Super excited to start getting things ready for spring. And I vote for a complimentary moon painting. Thanks again Jane, love your art.
Jane, awesome video. A friend of mine sent me a picture of a moon rise over the ocean from a dock in Florida and I had no idea on how to get started attempting to paint it. This certainly helped!
Great video-and painting. You are a natural teacher. I will give the painting a try and I will work on the homework...maybe I'll do the homework first and then the painting!! Thanks again.
Thanks for this video! I just got finished painting this and considering it was my first time ever, I don't think it's too bad. Your explanations are so clear, especially for people who have no experience in visual art.
This was the first painting tutorial I ever followed. I was happy with my result. I cannot wait to try this again now that I've got a little more experience painting. Thank you for your teaching style and videos
I was very inspired by this but I fell in love with the sunset colors I was using and couldn't go through with turning it into night but id love to show you what I ended up with :)
Thank You so much...I adore the moon. I painted one of your other moon and tree pic’s that looks a lot like this and I get lots of compliments, so I think I will do this one too. Thanks again I love your Art.
I just had to say thank you for putting up these videos. I know clicking like helps but I've watched almost all of your videos and I'm so excited to feel like maybe I can do a few of these at home.
Oh this was fun!! I got confused with you calling red pink tho and had to go back a few times and check I was using the right colors. Again thank you 👏🏼👏🏼☺️💕

You're so sweet. Thank you so much!! Honestly, it's not talent. It's just a lot of practice. I wasn't a painter 3 years ago. Don't underestimate the power of practice
omg please please show how you did the mini painting on the right the one with the cool tones like a very pale sky and a few visible trees like it just makes me nostalgic and anxious and nervous and i loveeeeee paintings that trigger those types of emotions because it shows how powerful art is

I've been wanting to try canvas painting for years, but I don't have an "artsy" bone in my body... (I can hardly draw a straight line or a round circle, no exaggeration) But, I just watched this entire tuitional, and you...are...amazing! I can't wait to try this with my kids, wish I had the materials right MEOW!
lol!! Thank you :D Guess what, you DO have artsy bones! Everyone does. Well, ok, it's more like artsy muscles. And the more you use them, the stronger they get. Go build those muscles!!
You nearly lost me with all that pastel in the beginning, but I love the end result!! I like your suggestion about a vlog, seeing some viewers paintings!
+Karen Thomas Thank you, Karen! I'm glad you stuck with it :D I'm still working on getting a vlog together. I think I must not be very good with time management skills, lol.
I just watched 3 other videos on who to paint for beginners and none of them hold a candle to how well you explained the paint, texture, and how to hold a brush. Thank you thank you thank you!!

I really like your painting. Because the size of the moon is big or the size of the tree is small, the moon looks very close to us.
Thank you so much! Exactly what I was going for
This was my first at home painting, and I'm super thrilled with how it turned out.
Congrats, Kathy!!! Keep it up! :D

lol!! Thank you :D Guess what, you DO have artsy bones! Everyone does. Well, ok, it's more like artsy muscles. And the more you use them, the stronger they get. Go build those muscles!!
Loved your moon technique, going to do this, this week.
Thank you so much you did such an awesome job explaining and showing the tutorial your pace was relaxing and easy to fallow thank you again!
Love Painting with Jane! Janes directions are clear, and the outcome is beautiful, especially non-artistic people like me :)
Aaaw, thank you so much! That means a lot to me ♥
thank you. I have just finished my painting. I wanted to post a photo but I'm not sure how. I can't wait to paint a couple more.
