You're my favorite instructor by far as I am learning this craft! I find you so relatable and your calm demeanor adds to the therapeutic relaxation of painting! Many thanks 😊
Thank you Jane for this easy to follow tutorial. I had not painted or sketched in years. I came halfway across the country to take care of my terminally ill Mom. I had 5 awesome weeks with her. I made this painting for her on acrylic art paper, as that is what I had. Mom loved it! I hung it on the wall near the kitchen table and every time she looked at it, she would smile. Thank you Jane, for helping me make this memory with Mom. She passed away 3 days ago knowing that she inspired me to continue doing what I had so enjoyed many years ago.
Hi Jane! Just wanted to compliment you on your excellent instruction. I have only just started painting for a hobby and have searched for tutorials online, and yours is by far, the best! I can't wait for your next creation so I can paint another beautiful picture!
I just turned 64 and I have always enjoyed crafting and am self taught in many things but my desire to paint has always been a dream I felt I could never attain. I tried a few tubes on beginners acrylic painting and did fair but when I found yours I just fell in love with your easy taught class......I just have such a great relaxed time with you and want to do one a day......thank you so much for sharing your God gifted talent with me and so many others
Jane, viewing your great videos is becoming a bit addictive. This is a great way to end a busy day. This painting demo that you did today is so fantastic the way you presented so many techniques in one video. Your narration is so informative the way you describe each step of the process. Great work Jane, Thanks for all you do.
Jane, I watch and attempt to paint so many of your paintings. I watch a lot of artists on TH-cam and Facebook, and appreciate the endeavors of all, but YOUR instructive style - calming and detailed - keeps me coming back to you. Thank you for taking such time to post just for me 😂. The brilliance of TH-cam tutorials is that the student feels as thought he/she is the only student you have to teach.
That wooden fence would also make a good background for a seascape or seashell collection type painting. Almost looks the same as driftwood. Thanks again!
Jane, I just discovered you and I am a beginner. I tried this painting today on a piece of wood and I am quite happy with the result. I am planning to try the broken window painting. Thank you. You are an inspiration and a good teacher. God bless.
I only used your instruction to paint a fence behind a pot of succulents I had already drawn. It came out amazing, and I am a brand new painter!! You are now my favorite instructor
I just started this one tonight! I love the way my wooden fence came out. So happy you taught me how to do that - a skill I can take to other paintings! I love painting grass - so that came pretty naturally to me (I added some Cad Yellow Med to highlight some of the blades). Tomorrow night, after work, come the flowers - one of my weaknesses. We'll see hot it goes.
So glad I watched this video. So well done. I like the way you speak directly to your audience and there is no chit chatting with someone in the background. Your instructions are so clear. Thanks!
You're always a great teacher Jane! I would like to thank you again for your big help...🤗 You've done as usual another beautiful paintings. Have a nice day!
Thank you Jane for a wonderful tutorial. You are by far the best teacher I have seen on You Tube, you dont talk about rubbish and you explain every thing you are doing. I am currently doing an art course but learn't more from you than at my $25 lessons, I am giving them up to learn from you. Thank you again, wonderful tutorials.
Love, love this painting... love how you teach so calm and will be painting this one. Only been painting Acrylics since Jan. Glad to have found you, thank you for helping us beginners!
I painted this 4 years ago. One of my very first paintings. I STILL LOVE IT! Forgot who the video was by and just found you again. 4 years later. Gonna subscribe now. Thank you! I just wish you would do some coastal/marine life scenes. Not so dark. You are probably the best channel for no background chatter. Too many painting teachers have their partner in the background making some kind of small talk. For me...that is annoying when I am trying to focus.
i did this and it came out perfect but unique because i switched colors and gave it my own personality i also tried another video after and it was so difficult and i wasnt pleased withy final painting. thank you for taking your time and being so detail oriented for beginners
You have 7 tutorials up that I just can't wait to paint. Thank you for your time and effort. It's appreciated by many. I love the fence and flowers. Such a great painting.
You're my most favorite artist , aside from you're being good artist I love the way you explain the way you stroke the brush . I learned a lot from you and I love all your paintings..
I love following your tutorials!!! Your instruction is perfect. I don't like it when the instructor acts weird and goofy. Also you are an amazing artist!!!!
I have never painted in my life and been searching TH-cam for tutorials. I subscribed to many but I just love you and how you take the time to explain every detail and make it easy for a novice like me. I enjoyed painting this and the abstract poppies. I wish I could have you as my tutor.... :)
Thank you for this tutorial. I started as a weekend painter 2 years. I learned from tutorials like yours. I thank you again because your instructions are awesome. I was so surprised how mine turned out. I got a little frustrated with the fence since my hands shake and the brushes fall out of my hand sometime holding them in the air. But with a few extra turns I’m very happy. I’m always putting my extra little spin to it. Looking forward to do more with you.
I just painted this one with you, it was my first paint-a-long with you and I love your style! My painting came out way better than I thought it would and it was all thanks to your great instructions! I will be doing more of your videos!
Hi Jane! i just painted your summer flowers with wood background and i think it came out pretty good! i am so inspired by you because i always wanted to study art in Paris, but life got in the way and now at age 60, i am finally living my dream to paint. i won't exactly call myself an artist, but i am living my dream through yours and others like you on you tube. thanks so very much! all the best to you!. Shirley M.
going to paint this today. my daughter has been watching your vlog with me. she says you have a very relaxing style and soothing voice. maybe we will reveal some talent she didn't know she has! fingers crossed! thanks Jane. you've quickly become part of my family.
I am using this tutorial for my first DIY painting at home after doing a couple paint nights. I was so excited to find great instruction online! Question for you. When doing my fence (first step), I can't seem to get the paint to cover the canvas very well. I still see spots of the white canvas and when I try to cover them it starts to blend the colors (instead of keeping it more streaked like yours). Any ideas what I need to change? Am I just not using enough paint? I am using the same paint brand you suggest. Thanks in advance!!
Hi Jessica!! Sounds like your brush might be pretty soft. A soft brush is going to make it really hard to spread the paint very far. Look for a brush that's a little more stiff and has a nice flick to it. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions ♥
Jane! I so like your style. I'm very new to painting (5 months), and I'm thrilled to have found your tutorials! Your explanations, paintbrush technique, and video work are so clear to understand and see. Thank you! This will be my next project! :)
I absolutely love your work Jane. I've done the red poppies & gave it to my neighbour as a gift. He loves it. I can't wait to get more paints so I can try the blue flowers against the wooden fence. Thanks so much for making your awesome videos x. Kathy from Australia
Wow, Jane! This painting and Moon River show such growth in your painting technique and style. Thank you for sharing. I will be sure to paint this as soon as possible.
I LOVED painting this one. I did it on a small 8 X 10. Should have done it on a bigger canvas but I didn't have one and I couldn't wait. I'm definitely painting this one again. Thanks Jane!!!
hello Jane, I have always been trying to paint one form or another I saw your Summer flower on the fence painting so head out to buy new paints. The ones I had from many years in my garage were dried out. Thank you so much for inspiring me to pick up a brush again. You are a great teacher and great artist. so easy to follow.
I love that you are so easy to follow! I follow along with a lot of your paintings. I really liked this summer flowers on the fence. As I was painting the flowers I kept thinking I bet these would be pretty in pink also. So last night I made them with the basis magenta. Simply beautiful. Thank you Jane, you are awesome.
I'm having so much fun with a palette knife. Thank you for making such easy to follow videos. I also like the combos of black and white with a splash of color, Its so much easier to manage. thank you very much. Looking forward to future videos!
Soooo realistic and a great presetation of painting techiniques. Love how you show the details, Thank you for all your efforts and sharing your talent with the world.
I just finished this painting. It came out great, but I used a bit too much of the blue, which gave it a nice weathered look (as if the wood was previously painted light blue). I have to learn how control the amounts of paint I use. Thanks for the ideas and lessons.
Wonderful Jane! Going to give this one a try. Seriously you are the only online painting tutorials I ever bother with, just the best! Keep it up and thank you soooo much for all you do for us budding artists x
I loved painting the wood fence in this painting . used a 16"x 20" canvas and plan on giving this as a gift or maybe keeping it for my own wall. love the wood grained look. Your work is awesome!! thank You
Tus videos son como clases de pintura en vivo. Sos con la que se aprende mas, tus explicaciones son muy detalladas, pausadas y didacticas. tus obras son muy originales y hermosas. Gracias. Saludos desde argentina.
Jane, I can't tell you how very much I love this painting! I am working on a patriotic painting for my grandson right now.. I am totally out of my element on it and taking my time and if it turns out half decent I'll show it to you. I AM going to do this painting you've shared with us. I love it..BEAUTIFUL! Thank you!
I was watching this video while letting my daughter with Autism paint she stopped painting & watched you then looked at her paints & got blue paint & started painting & said flowers. No they don't look like flowers but she thinks they do. :) I had to turn the laptop so she could watch you & paint. Thank you this is wonderful progress for her.
I am a self taught artist, but needed to know how to paint wood grain. You are an excellent, laid back, very informative teacher. Thank you for your expertise! You bare a resemblance to Angelina Jolie; but much nicer!
I really Love the way u teach how to paint... I have already painted ur 'Walk In the Rain' and the Painting is now placed in my room. I started this artwork. Need More masterpiece for beginners like me. Thanks a lot for sharing ur knowledge.
Thank you for your tutorials! I've been painting since this whole thing started to keep my sanity :)I have done a few of yours and, with your instruction, am able to see improvement! I try not to get hung up on trying to copy and just making it my own! People I've shown them to like this one the best! Thanks again!
Such a great teacher - so very informative and explanation goes with all your strokes. Beautiful work - I am just learning but love your work and hope I can get a painting that even fairly resembles your work here. Will strive to get better and use this video many times. Thank you.
I can't wait to do this! I have about 10 paintings all over my house that I did through classes. But I really like your instructional videos- love how you explain things in great detail. Thank you!!!
Hi Jane This is a lovely painting, I will certainly give it a go. Thank you for all your lovely videos. I love the way you explain everything so clearly. You're a very good teacher with a lot of talent.
I really love the effect of the wood fence. My flowers don't look as nice as yours, but this was fun! Thanks for the tips. I am new to painting and I am learning so much.
have only just found your channel...I am very new to painting, Followed the above tutorial to paint one a hand saw...I didn't get the flowers right but still happy with the out come..Thank you x.....wish I could show you
I have really enjoyed following your videos, and have learned a lot, so thank you very much. I particularly like your style of tutoring, quiet and laid back. I have just finished this particular picture, and am thrilled to bits with it. I will continue to follow you.
Omg Jane. This is just magical watching the wood come to life! This is such a pretty painting! I'll have to give this one a go too so I can learn how to do fences! Thank you for the video! 😊
This is the first of your videos that I have seen. I LOVE IT! Thank you for teaching with such a calm and peaceful way. You give enough instruction and great tips!
Bob Ross is on Netflix. He's fabulous in my humble opinion. I watch him after I teach because he's a great stress reliever her. Not to mention his paintings are beautiful. You sort of remind me of him.
Don't get me wrong. I love my job. I realize what I said after I said it and it made me sound like a hate teaching. I really don't. The kids are wonderful but I teach braille and it's amazing how all the adults around these kids or at least most of them have such low expectations. It really can drive me insane.. So, after a long day of hearing how either I or the kids I work with really won't amount to much in life, I need a good calming art video. Yours and Bob's do the trick. Thanks!
No, I understand perfectly! It doesn't matter how much you love your job, you have to have something that resets your brain. Thank you so much for your sweet comment
Jane, You are a wonderful teacher!! I'm a beginner & love your instruction. I did this on a 5 X 5 and am so please with the results. A huge thanks, I have subscribed and will continue to follow you!!
You're my favorite instructor by far as I am learning this craft! I find you so relatable and your calm demeanor adds to the therapeutic relaxation of painting!
Many thanks 😊
Aaaaw, Sandra, that means so much to me!! Thank you, friend ♥♥♥

I agree. I find too much chitchat very distracting. I prefer Jane's teaching style.

Thank you, Louise! The wood was so much fun to do. I really want to mess with that some more :D I can't wait to see your painting!!
This is the first of your videos that I have seen. I LOVE IT! Thank you for teaching with such a calm and peaceful way. You give enough instruction and great tips!
Beautiful, Jane. So beautiful it made me cry. Thanks! Priscilla
Aaaw, Priscilla
when you put that white lines on there....it instantly transformed and looks so real! haven't finished watching yet lol but love your videos.
Thank you Jane you are and excellent teacher love the work you do
Bob Ross is on Netflix.
Another fantastic tutorial, thanks Jane for all your time xx
