I’m getting ready to start this painting but I wanted to tell you that I’m so appreciative of you and the kindness that you’ve shown by free tutorials. I’m so new to your channel and fairly new to TH-cam. I’m what I’ve always referred to as a “natural” artist as I’m self-taught. I draw, watercolor, I’m new to acrylics and sew. Having these tutorials from you is like gold. Thank you!
Même si on ne comprends pas la langue, les explications de vos tutos sont parfaitement claires!👍👍👍 Merci beaucoup pour vos partages! Les toiles sont un vrai plaisir!
Bravo Maestra! your teaching is the epitome of an Art Class ! i have learned so much , you're superb! THANK YOU ! God certainly has Blessed you with such talent, to share with all! i must say your delivery & presentation is 2nd to none! you have a great presence!
Thank you again, Jane. I love your paintings and I am learning so much. I appreciate that you always respond and you teach slowly. It is easy to paint along with you even though I am new to this technique.
Jane - I just want to thank you for helping me pick up my paintbrush again. My depression had gotten the best of me this past year and with your videos you have truly inspired me. This is my form of therapy! Love you!
Jane, great job with the trees. You always make it look so fun. I am viewing all your previous paintings and studying how you use your brush strokes to get the effects that you desire. There are many styles, the photo-realistic where you have full control of the bush and strokes, and then there is the loose style where the artist helps control the movement, but the brush, paint, and canvas does it own thing to help create a great painting. You do make it look fun. This painting does just that. Great work. Thanks again for "Leafing us with a good feeling." that "Wood" inspire us all.
Ha! You're clever, Michael ;) Thank you! I always want to try to show you guys different ways to do things so you don't feel like there's only one way or style.
you are so good, the way you explained ,the way you created there is no word to explain me that how good you r,just stay happy and stay blessed, I am going to try it.love u
So love this painting... Will try it soon... My hubby has alzheimers and my time is limited at times... You, Cinnamon, Ginger and Angela are my savories keeping me sane... Can't wait to paint this...Love ya
Hi Jane! Just wanna let you know that you have an incredibly soothing voice.... watching you working magic on the canvas is a major stress reliever. Thank you for all your gorgeous paintings & can't wait for moreee
I discovered your channel when I was looking for tutorial. I'm so grateful that I found you. I've been watching your videos for a couple of weeks. I made a few of the Happy Tree for friends as thank you gift. Thanks for a great videos.
This painting was so much fun to do. I'm very happy with my happy trees. I used a smaller filbert for the black and white trees and a larger one for my happy tree. You are the bomb diggity, Mrs. Jane! Thank you so much for sharing your talent in art and teaching.
Thank you, Marta!! That sounds awesome! I would love to see how it turned out. If you're on Facebook, you should join our group :D facebook.com/groups/ArtMonsterSquad
Marta Blackwell Woohoo!!! I wasn't around much yesterday, but I'll get in there after filming this afternoon. And after I posted the link, I thought, "duh, Marta's in the group, you dork!" lol, sometimes I should think before I type ;)
I really love the black and white paintings with a burst of color! I can't wait to do this one and any others like it. I only wish I could come up with these myself so I can paint a bunch of things like this heh. one day.
I am literally just going to start and do my first painting and this is the one Im going to try and do.You inspired me so much with your beautiful art works.Thank you Jane...😊💐
Jane you get more and more amazing every week. that pop of red, oh my goodness it really pops. its stunning. thank you Jane for what you do for us. hugs ginxxxxxx
bonjour jane ! merci pour vos explications, vos tableaux sont superbes ! j'adore ! grace à vous j'essaye de peindre et je trouve cette activité géniale. chantal
OH! I can't wait to try this one!!. I've been painting the cardinal...l mehh not so swell-I'll go back to it some other time. This will go with the Walk In The Rain one(s) I painted. The 14x20 went to Iowa with my ex-daughter-in-law... after it was done I really wanted to keep it but she really wanted it. OH... I also love the soothing/calming music just the right volume too. It helps with the tenseness I get...lol I did look up the screaming at the yellow paint vid...ummh yeah I may need that for the cardinal painting...bahahahaha.... Thanks so much Jane! ~~MM~~
Sara and Jane hope you don't mine me "easel" dropping but as I was scrolling I saw this. Sara I am very new to painting. I was so scared I started the "Walk In The Rain" painting on a 4x4 and and then an 8x10, 11x14 then the 14x20 by time I got to that one I wasn't so nervous~ well maybe I was ;) but I learnt somethings along the way... I think it turned out ...Okay.. Well, my Ex-daughter-in-law loved it and wanted it..I gave it to her. So I may have to paint another that size for me... to go along with this one....which I will practice on an 8x10 or 11x14 first...lol I hope you don't mind my interruption...but if I can do it...anyone(you) can do it!! For me, Jane helps make it easier...
Amazing explanation! You make me really see what your are going to do! And it shows that you have the completed image of what you expect as a result in your mind. I love how you explain, make my fingers itch to pick my brushes! Thank you very much for share your experience ;D
At first I thought "what the heck"....."don't think I'll do this one"....but then as I watched the video through as I normally do before starting to paint...I could see the trees coming to life and getting excited now to paint my own version....really nice job Jane as usual....and darn you make it looks so easy, I'm expecting a bit of frustration as I see I'll need to be careful to clump not blend...lol thanks..
LOL, Jan!!! Yeah, that big black scribble makes it look like I have no idea what I'm doing, doesn't it, haha! I'm glad you're excited to paint it now!!! And don't get frustrated! Just try different things if what I'm showing you isn't working
I wish I could do better at trees. I am going to find something without a tree. Thanks so much for these tutorials. I have no artistic ability but it makes me think I do by following along.
My siblings and our families are painting this for our Family Art Day Art Project this weekend. Some of us are artistic...and others not so much. This looks like one we are all going to enjoy doing!
Tina Sommer THERE IS A CHANNEL I STUMBLED ON CALLED "DRAWMIXPAINT DOT COM (.COM) THAT IS ALSO AN EXCELLENT TEACHER BUT IN OIL!!! PASS IT ON( NOT TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM JANE, I LOVE HER SO MUCH AND APPRECIATE HER INSTRUCTION VERY MUCH! I'VE DONE A FEW OF HER PAINTINGS ALREADY AND I DID WELL!
Hi Jane, I love your channel! I have been having a hard time with this one, how are you picking up paint without getting the paint from the other side of the brush in the pile of paint? I just end up with a pile of light grey and dark grey after a few dabs. I have sneaking suspicion that I have no idea how to "load" a paint brush.
Jane, this painting is beautiful. I'm more experienced with Tole painting. Not a lot of experience with canvas painting. So my problem is that the brushes I have are for Tole painting. When I try to use them, they tend to be a bit too soft for canvas painting. Can you recommend a set (name brand) of brushes for a beginner?
Hi Debra! Unfortunately, I don't use name brand brushes. But in your craft store, there are tons of brushes specifically made for acrylic painting on canvas with the artist paints, not where the craft paints are. Would you recommend coating the canvas with just flow medium to help spread the paint? What about wetting the canvas? Or would you recommend wetting the brush with a water to medium mixture to help spread the paint?

Me and 9 of my friends did this painting this past weekend. They all turned out pretty great and we enjoyed your video! Thanks!
I loved painting this one!
So wonderfully dramatic!
Thank you, Genda :D
I really love this painting. I wish I was brave enough to do it on a super large canvas. I can see this hanging in my living room!
Then you should do it!!!! Try it on a smaller canvas, and then do the big one you want! Bravery isn't needed in art. You just have to do it
Thank you for the encouragement! I think trying it on a smaller canvas first is a great idea. Now I'm excited :)

Thank you, Patsy!
I did this tonight --- my first at my home, but my 10th guided painting.
I love using blobs of paint. Would this be a good one to try that sculpture paste on?
Absolutely!!!
Pick up a pack or two of a variety of brushes to start with. I'll be doing a vlog on brushes later this week that I hope will help.
I see this, I am thinking Schindler's List. Whether it is intended or not, in my -quite often- humbled opinion your work has a lot of "noir" in it. It works. Its great. Thank you for sharing.
I know what part you're talking about. And thank you! I do love darker and moodier images :)
Jane it's amazing.. I loved it.. Can't wait to start .. Thank you so much.. Love you..😍😍
Thank you so much, Elby!! I can't wait to see what you do :D

Aaaw, that's the sweetest comment. Thank you so much, Isaiyah! Maybe someday that can happen :D Are you on Facebook? You should join our group! facebook.com/groups/ArtMonsterSquad/
Would you recommend coating the canvas with just flow medium to help spread the paint?
What about wetting the canvas? Or would you recommend wetting the brush with a water to medium mixture to help spread the paint?
You could do any of those things! Whatever works best for you. I didn't wet the canvas at all before I stared, but I do use water on my brush.
Watching the red tree spring to life was so satisfying! :)
Thank you, Socratica friends!! I hope you're doing well
Beautiful Jane!
Thank you, Stephie!
Oh my! Jane I love this so much!

I love how I'm not the only one that whips out a blow dryer to help the drying process more on a bit faster
Beautiful, Jane! 👍😊
