Engelbert is one of the great crooners with such a smooth relaxing voice. His career has spanned almost 7 decades. His first hit song was "Release Me" in 1967. He has had many great songs including "The Last Waltz", "There Goes My Everything", "Am I That Easy To Forget", "Les Bicyclettes de Belsize", "Winter World Of Love", "This Moment In Time", "Love Will Set You Free", "Quando, Quando, Quando", "Love Me With All Of Your Heart" etc.
One of the greatest singers of all time. His live concerts were amazing. No autotune. He's 88 years old and currently on tour. The Last Waltz is my favorite song he sings.
My mother and I used to watch his weekly TV show broadcast from England and this man was so sexy my mother had me cracking up. She said, "After looking at him there's no way I'm going to bed with your father tonight". He definitely had the voice and the looks. Thanks for bringing back that memory.
A Latin beat, a great crooner singer in a decade all genres of music could hit the tip vs today. Voice mattered and at least women swooned to a masculine voice, look and smart dressed man. Sadly.... to no era we can go back. Still, each era blessed us with their music. Maturity shows in realizing talent of these eras vs one that AI can replicate anyone and write songs. Add.... that no pitch correction as we know it was then and of course autotune.... You had to have talent, do concerts live, TV appearances and sound like your recordings too. Many top acts.... like Englebert and many others from Cher to Tom Jones to Dolly Parton had their own shows singing live for broadcast with limited ability to fix imperfections.
Loving Mugs jammin to Engelbert! The ladies loved him…all ages. This was a fabulous reaction!
