If I’m remembering right (and I might not be) this was so early on in BGT’s run that the golden buzzer didn’t exist yet. She did get one though, when she came back for an all stars thing and sang wild horses- it was fantastic and very well deserved that she got that golden buzzer.

Whenever I see it, since his passing, I can barely get thru Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. It's been over 30 yrs now and he's still in my heart. Les Miz is all about love...fulfilled and unrequited, parental and the the simple love in kindness and comraderie for a cause. And the love in faith and how it can comfort. There are old home videos of her singing locally when she was much younger. Same stunning voice. But nobody picked up on it.
On the ones I saw, the bands she sang with were awful and the sound systems were even worse. Susan never had a chance to stand out.
