I'm not usually a flute ensemble person, but this.... this piece is extremely engaging, creative, and well-crafted - such a refreshing use of layers, colors, and momentum. The performers rose to the occasion in every way. And the videography was as integral to the performance as the instruments. Bravo to all!!
This is dazzling, effervescent and captivating! I have listened to this 10 times now and love it more each time I hear it. On headphones it's almost too much to bear. My favorite flute - the bass flute - plays such a wonderful role in this piece. Thank you, Julia, for this Gift!
This is absolutely brilliant. Have the players been asked to withhold the use of vibrato? If so, it was the right choice, as the tone throughout is strong, focused, and meaningful.
