How do you learn to actually hit overlapping notes? Because honestly I can never do it and I been playing these games for years I dont understand how anybody can do it.. you have to be some sort of god to be able to do that.
The Otaku Fan Girl depends on how you're playing the game, if you're trying to play the overlapping notes with one hand it's not going to get you very far. I would recommend using the d-pad as well while trying to keep tempo. It's a bit hard to get used to but with practise it's possible! I hope I helped
You pretty much have to use the d-pad to help with overlapping notes when songs go beyond a certain tempo. The d-pad and x,o,square,triangle buttons are interchangeable. If you have a string of overlapping square notes to hit, if you alternate between the square button and the left button on the d-pad, it's a lot easier than trying to spam square. It takes some getting used to.
I can’t do double or triple overlapping notes, but for the ones which are only one sign I alternate between the symbol’s distinct button and the D-pad. It takes a little while to get down, but it works well.
Love Kimi Ni! Only on normal level songs, although managed 1 estreme (Ai Kotoba) somehow!! Future Tone is a dream come true. I understand younwon't make lots more Miku videos but enjoy the ones you make!
So probably an obvious question, but if I'm not used to using my left thumb that much, will I have trouble with future tone? I normally play the extremes in x with my right thumb most of the time on spams. x and Mirai dx are all I have played...

It might help to start using the sticks for the arrows if you haven't already and then set the trigger buttons as certain double notes
