    THANK YOU for actually using 91 OCT, like most of us in the country have, and post figures NOT using 93+.....like every other tuner does. It's annoying and inaccurate. You rock and love the reviews bro! I'm getting this unit from you guys simply because of this honest review and great install vid (but yes, the whole plug/play, made in Germany did play a biiiiiit of a role too...;)

      I thought 93 octane is fairly easy to get and didn't even realize CA doesn't sell it. Here in the Southeastern US, its at every gas station and I run it all the time. I noticed deep in the midwest (i.e., Iowa) it is hard to come by as well, which I find strange with so many new cars recommending and tuned to it. When I have opted not to put 93 in my Bronco, I see a pretty clear MPG drop so don't mind paying more for the gas if its going to get me further (and hopefully atleast even out the cost).

      @@timlong7463 Hi Tim,
      The ECU and all original monitors are left in place so no, it will not harm anything, the ECU will simply pull timing and peak boost output, reducing power.

    Quick question, if you have the vrtuner on race mode does the bronco goat mode still work for normal-eco-sport? Or will it be on the vrtuner race mode no matter what

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the Vr tuned is in race mode it will push the engine performance harder at all times. I believe the GOAT eco and sport modes don’t do anything with the engine tuning, I think they just affect the pedal response, making it more or less responsive helping to save fuel in eco mode and feel better in sport mode. If you like that, pair the VR with a pedal commander and it takes the game to whole new level!

    Any chance you have a new link for the software? I just got mine, and the link on the instructions (and in the video) don't work. One says app not available in my area (US,) and one says the link has expired (the one in the video.) Weird.

      No, this remains the best option in our opinion. Some people have gotten some engine lights due to intake sensors, but only a few, and doesn’t seem consistent. Easiest cheapest power bump we know of.

    A shame there is not a simple remote that runs into the cab to switch maps on the fly. More Bluetooth/phone based apps are not ideal.

    I'm looking to pickup a Bronco here in the next year or so and wondering if I should get the 2.3 or 2.7. I'm not looking to make crazy power numbers but I would like to put a 3.5in lift and either 35's or 37's, just wondering which motor would be more advantageous for my needs. Not looking to wheel it either mostly just for going intot he snow and camping.

    • @Bacnow
      @Bacnow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would definitely choose the 2.7 for your build! The Bronco is a heavy vehicle and may feel lethargic with 37s and the 2.3 unless you plan to get the manual tranny!

    Does increasing the boost affect the reliability of the motor? At times I'll be maxing out the Bronco towing so I'm looking for a little hp increase like this. However, i keep hearing that i shouldn't mess with the boost. What is the truth here?

    • @alexlittlewood9654
      @alexlittlewood9654 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As usual, this answer is “it depends”. It depends on how hard and far you push the boost. WIth this tuner, the increase is very modest, and is intended to maintain a very high level of reliability. I have this tuner, and I tow a 3,000 pound trailer often, and everything is going just great! You’ll really noticed the power and torque increase.

    Is VR going to make this available for the ST Edge?

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Warren, yes actually, they do make one for the Edge ST. It produces an additional 35 HP. However, for your application, the AFE Scorcher Blue works exactly the same way, It has a bluetooth app, but also includes a switch controller you can mount in the cabin. AFE have been able to squeeze out a little over 40 HP and 53 TQ, so the performance is better than the VR and the price is great, it's under $600. The pedal commander only adjust throttle response, it doesn't increase power or torque, so it should be fine. Something to note when rock crawling with a pedal commander, eco mode is best in my experience. Just walks the vehicle right up and over those rocks.

    Anyone know the ballpark gains for an 89 octane setting with this tuner? As long as the dems are in power I won't be able to afford 93 octane so 89 will be the best I can do for now. 😆

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're not sure about that, but wouldn't suggest running 89 with the tuner. The base motor is much happier and more efficient on 91, so especially when you're running this tuner, it's going to push the boost more aggressively, and even more important to have higher octane fuel. You're in TX.... Your premium is 93 and still under $4 there, right? Thats among the cheapest in the nation. We're jealous. Here in CA we pay ~$5.30 for premium (91). Count your blessings and run the good stuff.
