Now my life has gained its meaning since those sinful eyes behold.
Sacred land with meadows greening whose renown was often told.
This was granted me from God, to see the land and the holy sod, which in human form He trod.
Splendid lands of wealth and power, I've seen many far and near.
Yet of all are you the flower, what a wonder happened here!
That, a maid a Child should bear, Lord of all the angels fair, was not this a wonder rare?
Here He was baptised the holy, that all people might be pure.
Here He died betrayed and lowly, that our bonds should not endure.
Else, our fate had been severe, hail oh cross oh thorns and spear!
Heathens woe your rage is clear!

      But, HE HAS RISEN!
      Not just once, but twice!
Once from the grave and death
And once into the clouds of heaven!
He shall return to collect His people, of which I’m great-full that I am one!
He shall return with His angel armies and His saints, and He shall bring an end to all sin.
So repent, turn away from your sins while there is still time! Accept the Lord Jesus as your master, for He is the *ONLY* way to God!
      Amen.

@Mandalore TheUltimate nay. Judea is a region in Palestine. Palestine is a province. Palestinians have always inhabited the land. Judeans(Jews in modern English) came later. The region they settled is roughly half the province. The song is about all of Palestine as Christians, Judeans, Palestinians, Muslims were all fighting for power. Historically all have a claim. But the muslims and Palestinians won at first. Then Christians got their hands on it in 1920's and in the 50's Judeans(Jews) got their hands on it. The Palestinians in the 50s welcomed the Jews until they were treated second class and as though they didn't belong. Learn. The. History..

This is the world’s oldest song where lyrics and notes have survived.
Many old songs have the lyrics Writen down but the palistina song has also the original music.
So what you hear was sung for hundreds of years.
It has the spirit of Walter von der Vogelweide ( that’s the name of the author) conserved since the crusade he attended.
He wrote this song as the impressions when he set foot into the holy land overwhelmed him.
This is a true message from long ago.

But the language of the Palästinalied is Middle-High-German (Mittelhochdeutsch). Althochdeutsch is even older than that and extremely difficult to understand for modern Germans. A song in Althochdeutsch would be the "Hildebrandslied".

    • @beurteilung713
      @beurteilung713 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

Being a hardline atheist is rather unscientific. I tend to take an agnostic stance on religion because i keep my beliefs open. Being an atheist is proclaiming that you know without a doubt that there is not a God(s) so you are without belief. If it makes sense, i think that mindset is very close-minded because atheists tend to reject every esoteric explanation for the origins of the universe without even humoring them.

    • @logik316
      @logik316 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

FBI the fact that for thousands of years nobody has ever provided proof for any god is something I consider as reasonably positive evidence that they were all very likely created by the human imagination. Logically one cannot disprove the possibility of a god 100%, but nor can you fully disprove the possibility of an invisible pink unicorn existing on the far side of Mars. I could say I believe in the great Martian unicorn (Bless Her Holy Hooves) who answers my prayers. Who are you to say she’s not real? I’m also not exactly impressed with the moral conduct of the Abrahamic god in the bible and the koran, who often behaves more like a six year old throwing a tantrum than a benevolent and intelligent being (not to mention, the often evil conduct of his followers). It’s about time for the believers to back up their claim and come up with the money, so to speak.

Now my life has gained its meaning
      since these sinful eyes behold
the sacred land with meadows greening
      whose renown is often told.
This was granted me from God:
to see the land, the holy sod,
which in human form He trod.
Splendid lands of wealth and power,
I’ve seen many, far and near,
yet of all are you the flower.
      What a wonder happened here!
That a maid a child should bear,
Lord of all the angels fair,
was not this a wonder rare?
Here was He baptized, the Holy,
that all people might be pure.
Here He died, betrayed and lowly,
that our bonds should not endure.
Else our fate had been severe.
Hail, O cross, thorns and spear!
Heathens, woe! Your rage is clear.

The great Irony is that the 5th Crusade was mostly directed at Ayyubid Egypt while the Christian Allied Sultanate of Rum (Kaykaus I had a complex religious/cultural identity being both Christian and Muslim as well as Greek/Turkish/Persian. Not that the Seljuqs where particularly fervent Muslims, unlike the later Ottomans) attacked Syria to divert its forces from Egypt. The Papacy directed the campaign to insure it could not be hijacked and diverted like the 4th crusade. Georgia which was a major military power at the time had pledged support however they where invaded my the Mongols. It's likely that if Georgia was able to provide assistance unhindered the Crusade would have been successful. Which is also Ironic since the Mamluk (slave warriors of the Ayyubids) dynasty which rebelled and defeated the Ayyubids (seems to be a repeat theme of using Slaves as your military defeat) later spelled the end of the Mongol Ilkhanate. Jerusalem was retaken but since the walls had been torn down by the Ayyubids it was an indefensible position.
