Which is ridiculous because much of academia, particularly scientific academia, contain Latin terms. Any biologist would know that, species classification is all done in Latin or Latinized names. Also any true Catholic ought to know a bit of Latin, Latin mass is definitely a good experience to partake in.
A liturgical language (Quranic Arabic, Samskritm, Ecclesiastical Latin) is still classified as a dead language since they’re not spoken by the lay men.
