Hey I just wanted to say thanks for the advice. I just got into commander and I didn't know what set booster to get . Going off your advice I got the zendikar rising and I walked away with seven new Commanders(2 duplicates) and a bunch of mythics and other cards to build and play with!
Love that the cat pops into frame near the last half of the video! So fluffy! Also, this information does seems pretty useful. Would love to get some more MH2, but it's really expensive lol.
Definitely using these stats to persuade those in my play group to switch over to singles instead of the crack open as many packs as possible method lol. Thank you Joe and BZ

I opened a set box of MH2 last night. I got it as a present. I got 5 fecthlands, a Ragavan, Imperial Recruiter, and 2 esper sentinel. I got other good stuff but that’s what I remember off top of my head

As someone with 30 edh decks, I've been loving every single new set this year. When you have that many decks, even AFR will have dozens of cards with homes, and I appreciate the lack of smothering tithe - esk super-staples
We have been playing sealed with the set boxes, Theros and Eldraine were very fun and we got a lot of good cards for our decks. D&D sadly was very awful as a draft experience and card value..... Now we eill take your advice and we will buy Zendikar Rising and CL 👍🏼✨

If you're talking War of the Spark, you should mention that it featured cards that say "proliferate", which are as good as gold in Commander. Notably, Flux Channeler and Evolution Sage have repeatable Proliferate triggers, which is just so so so nice.
Me too. I love MH and MH2 but Commander Legends was just a great set. Got another box this Xmas too. Got yet another Vamp Tutor and another Mana Drain.

Agree on the underappreciated Commander value of Zendikar Rising (and you didn't even mention the box toppers!). With the price of War of the Spark continuing to creep up, I've actually started to consider grabbing another Mythic Edition while it's still "affordable". End segment earned my sub XD

I'd think over the past couple of years the triomes are the in demand cycle, so ikoria and snc. Outside of cmd legends cause jeweled lotus is massive, there probably more hits in that sent but the cost is higher.

Ardent elementalist from midnight hunt is a good common in the right decks (it's one of two cards in mono red with the effect) it's one of the best cards in my rionya firedancer deck
I ended up asking for a Commander Legends box for Christmas. Not only did I get the investment back monetarily. I also got a bunch a cards I actually plan to use in my commander decks!
I got a ZNR set box based on this recommendation and holy cow the stack of notable cards / cards I’m putting straight into decks is almost as large as the pile of cards I don’t care about. I got 4 glasspool mimics haha

We’re you guys aware that Deadly Dispute is a 4 dollar common? It’s seeing a ton of pauper play and it’s contributing to a big price and is a worthwhile pull, obviously doesn’t justify buying the box but helps turn the value up a little.

So far I've buyed Only a Jumpstart and a Ikoria Box, and a Lot of Kaldheim and Strixhaven Pack. Jumpstart is good when you start playing because there is a wide variety of card and some Cool legendary Neith and Muxus are my favorite one, Strixhaven Mystical Archive are really cool and the Uncommon Legendary are some of my favorite commander, Especially Dina. Ikoria have a The Triome, Big Spell with the Ultimatum and Rielle. Kaldheim, has snow land and Dual, and the Infamous Tergrid, but from All the thing i've opened it's one of the set I've used the least in my commander deck.
I've been looking for a video exactly like this, everyone just insists on buying singles but I want to be able to draft first then have cards for my commander decks, so thank you very much for making this video.

For reference, I opened one box and got: 1 alasourus shepherd 2 oracle of mul daya 2 neyith of the dire hunt 3 command the dreadhordes 1 teferi master of time 1 reanimate 1 selvala heart of the wilds 2 cathars crusade 1 vito thorn of the dusk rose And of course all the cool basics, and the thriving lands are great budget mana.
Personally I recommend strixhaven for new players because isn't complicated set and the mystical archive have decent commander staple for play or trade. For new or casual players commander legend is good
I brought 5 boxes of Adventures of the Forgotten Realms. Actually really happy with the cards, got some absolute great cards for Commander but agree with the value. It's shite
Does anyone know how many mythics are in the average Modern Horizons 2 set booster box? I'm wondering because I got 9 lol but yeah a lot of them weren't the best mythics for commander,
I used to love cracking packs but then I realized the time spent trading and selling the cards I don't want were too much a of a pain in the ass, even if I opened well above the box value. If it was less than the value of the box, it's even worse.
if you’ve got $500 Eternal Masters is insanely valuable and my guess is very very commander friendly considering every mythic besides balance is playable
I'd say buy singles. However if someone wanted to upgrade their decks with evergreen cards I would suggest the following current sets. Strixhaven, War of the Spark, Coreset 2020, and finally a little bias but they should buy some double masters.

It is really expensive but the packs are pretty good value wise.

We drafted commander legends like 20 times was so fun!
I opened a Commander Legends box and pulled a Hullbreacher like 2 months before he got banned and he was the most valued card I pulled. 😞 feels bad.

Mine are commander legends, jumpstart and maybe like double masters if you’ve got the money, mh2 is okay as well. And yes war is amazing for commander

hookups are like EDH: meeting expectations is key, and if you are uncomfy you bolt out like the devil is behind you

For my collection the boxes that I got the most value out of commander wise were the Mystery Booster boxes with the bonus foil slot.

I found Strixhaven to be the most flavour fun in standard, but least useful in edh.
