The promos were worth 6 and the dice was a pleasant surprise because it was the black with purple lettering from wilds of eldraine.
Soooo... those tear strips are meant to be opened from left to right, the reason you were having so much trouble with the boxes is that you were opening them backwards
I bought one of these boxes and pulled an Alpha Black Lotus signed by Chris Rush. And on the back of the card was a QR code linked to a stuffed full Bitcoin wallet. The rest of the box had a folded up treasure map which led to some pirate gold, 1000 shares of Apple stock, the deed to a mansion which sits on an oil field, and the keys to a '71 Charger. Obviously my pulls were a little high-rolly, but did anyone else get lucky too?
10:45 thanks for calling out the wasteful packaging, first thing I noticed when you started opening this. Like we don't already have enough waste in this world :-/
Wouldn't be necessary save for these products are sold in Walmart thru the company that stocks cards for box stores. It's a security measure. If you've ever been by the card section of a Walmart you'll start to understand why they do this. That's a lot of packaging to rip open while watching out for other customers, employees and loss prevention.
Yeah, just leftover product that they have to pull off the shelves to make room for new releases, so they just throw some packs in these bundles. I think the main reason so many people have been getting collector boosters from them is because they don't sell well at big box stores. Like, if I'm running errands at Walmart and pause to check the magic section, chances are pretty low I'm going to just drop $30 or whatever on a single collector booster. So they tend to just sit there until enough new sets come out that they need the shelf space. Obviously some sets also sold better than others/had more stock, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them more commonly be like the midnight hunt and march of the machine box. I've heard some folks getting jumpstart boosters or only draft and set boosters, so just be warned you might end up overpaying for some boosters in these.
It's a security measure. These things are sold in Walmarts by the company that stocks them. Makes opening them in the store and snagging the packs more difficult, in theory.
@@pintlemounted I’m hoping that was your box for the good luck. But even if it wasn’t, it’s still good to know these are at the minimum two collector’s boosters.
I've bought 4 of these myself. FYI, yes, all the promo cards are the same in each batch. They seem to release these in waves; they'll ship a whole bunch out to Targets, and they all have the same promos, then they'll go out of stock until the next wave ships. I bought 3 from the most recent wave and they all had Saryth and Park Heights Pegasus, and I bought one from the previous wave a couple months ago and it had Saryth and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel.
@@ohyea456 All of them had two collector boosters and three draft/set boosters. The one from the previous batch had a Forgotten Realms collector booster, a Strixhaven collector booster (which had a couple of Japanese cards for some reason), a New Capenna set booster, and two Zendikar Rising draft boosters. The 3 I bought from the most recent batch had: 2 Midnight Hunt collector boosters (I actually did get Meathook Massacre yay) and 3 Lost Caverns of Ixalan set boosters, 2 New Capenna collector boosters (got a couple of triome lands but not much else worthwhile) and, I think, 3 LCI draft boosters, and finally 2 Baldur's Gate collector boosters (got Ancient Silver Dragon) and I don't remember what set boosters, New Capenna possibly.
I love the art cards, I do play with them for cards that have simple text boxes and just put the CMC and */* on with paint. But I always keep the normal card on hand just in case someone is upset about it
I've bought a few of these and have found some excellent value. My biggest worry is that the way the box is worded, they don't necessarily have to contain two collector boosters. They could start making them with 5 set/draft boosters. So be careful if you buy these en masse.
Ooh yeah, always check the packaging of magic product at big box stores. The amount of theft that happens is absurd, and a lot of times the thieves just leave the empty package right there on the shelf, and it's not always obvious that its been opened.
Back in the day when they just packaged 2 random boosters together w a "promo" card I went into my local Meijer and found about 15 packs w Dryad Arbor (future sight) clearly visible as the "promo card". Needless to say for $7 a blister I went ahead and bought them out. Pulled a foil Ugin (Fate) as well. I think I still have about half a dozen of them unopened. They also contain boosters going as far back as Scars and New Phyrexia. Not sure id call these kinds of products scams but they are quite the gamble as they are made from unsold fat packs and blisters. Hence the spin down counter.
I wish I had bought more than two when I saw them. The first box had two Commander Masters Collectors Boosters. The other one was March of the Machine Collectors...
My buddy bought 12 packs. A mix of set boosters and collectors and I watched him pull two ancient copper dragons. I was salty so I went to the store the next day and bought a box of set boosters which is obviously very healthy and happened to get one and several decent cards in the set, obviously not the norm.
The odds of pulling 2 Ancient Copper Dragons in 4 packs is better than my recent Bloomburrow luck opening the same amount of packs and pulling two raised foils. Although one was a $250 Ral, I know from experience Copper Dragons are about 1 in every 3 Collector boxes. Bloomburrow raised foils are 1 in every 1.5. And you got it on video
I bought one of these and got two collector boosters from one of the recent innistrad sets and 3 normal boosters. My most valuable pulls were $28 total.
Wow, you got so lucky with those openings. I remember buying 3 commander legends bg boxes, cause they were so cheap, and managed to open one of each dragon.
