Woodturning Eugenia platter into a bowl

This Was a big Eugenia Tree that was growing too close to the roof. I’ve trimmed the tree several times over The years. It finally grew too close to the roof of the house and the owner decided it was time for the tree To go. At time I made this piece originally, I was looking for crotch wood. This Tree had a large section of wood that I thought might produce a nice crotch view. It was soft wood and easy to turn. That makes it fun compared to woods that are very hard. Unfortunately during the drying process it worked very badly. So I decided to put the piece back on the Lathe And try to reshape it.

The fruit looks like a cherry. 🍒 and some of the nicknames it has is have something to do with cherry.

For me as soon as you put the finish on it looked like cherry. But I didn’t know if it was just the video lighting
