My daughter (year 5) loved this. Her comments as you were cutting up the rainbow pieces were, "amazing, beautiful, nice choice!" I loved it, too, but I thought you would be happy to hear what she said.
I am indeed. That’s great. Thanks for sharing. Tell her I said hello and much appreciated for tuning in 👋
How sweet of you to pass along your daughter's comments. ❤
Amazing. You turned an ‘ugly duckling into a beautiful swan’. A true artisan.😊
Nice one Maddie. How’s it going?
@@JackMackWoodturning I am terrific. And yourself?
Those bugs went on the ride of their lives! 😂
Do you think they felt it ?
Beautiful peice . I loved the bugs. After the dizzy little critters came out. I couldn't get the "Boll Weevil" song out my head.now they're lookin for a hoooome! even though this isn't cotton. Thanks for the video!
What a clever (and beautiful) addition of the colored blocks and black epoxy. The vase is so pretty!
Thanks Bev. Much appreciated. 😁
Those bugs that came out must be a little dizzy😂. But wow pure craftsmanship.
Poor little guys. I ruined their home 😆
I was going to say let's spare a thought for those poor little guys
Taking woodlice for a spin. ;)
Those bugs must have been dizzy! Beautiful piece as always, thanks for sharing!

Absolutley beautiful
That is a beautiful piece.
From a scrap piece of wood to a really cool piece. Great job 😀 Thank you!
Nice one G. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
"Rotten Hawthorn." A name for a woodturner's punk band.
Nice save! Guess keeping those scraps around pays off sometimes.
Welcome back, mate.
Thanks man. It’s good to be back. Yeah I struggle throwing anything away. 😀
I have to admit, I was questioning your wood selection, but you really pulled this one off. Beautiful!
So was I, 'alphabet crowd themed timber' was not what I would have used, but it did turn out to look fantastic.
Stunning!! Who in their right mind would even consider turning rotten wood!? 🤔 Oh Jack Mack would. Fantastic!! You really prove there's beauty in things others may consider beyond use. ❤ TFS your skills!! ❤
😆😆😆Thank you. .. do you think I’m crazy for trying to turn rotten wood?
@@JackMackWoodturning Not since you've proven me wrong in my preconceived ideas.😁 Actually I think I'm funny, however my family always tells me Not so much. 😅 No offense meant!! Just being facetious! 🤗 Love your work 😍❤️
Gotta LOVE the axe use on a lathe!!!!!
😆
Simply Beautiful ❤
Just when I start thinking that the project is ruined (the bugs in the wood) you turn it around and make a beautiful piece of art.
Thanks. I felt bad for destroying their home
What an uncanny masterpiece!!!
Thanks
Ce Monsieur est un génie ❤❤merci beaucoup
The grain in that hawthorn wood is lovely. And with the resin infusion it reminds me of a plethora of library books filling the empty spaces. This would be one I would love to own. Great work, J.
Thanks M! A few people have thought similar. Much appreciated. Did you like the resin colour?
@@JackMackWoodturning Beautifully contrasted the red-gold of the hawthorn. And definitely accented the bright colors of the layered pieces. You really have an eye for balance in your work, J. It exudes warmth.
The little rainbow pieces of wood remind me of books in all that black. It's stunning.
ALOT OF HAND AND MINED WORK EVEN IN THESE DAYS. 😊
Fascinating and very creative process. Wish you would keep your fingers further away from the band saw blade though.
agree! that part was giving me anxiety
Watched with interest as wasn’t sure how this would turn out. So well crafted and love the darker wood tones once bugs removed. A piece of art!
Brilliant Work ✨
👏👍❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Turning a piece of rotting bug infested wood into piece of beauty craftmanship at it's finest 😮
Nice one Gooner. How’s it going?
So happy you save all those colorful pieces. Excellent decision on how to use them. I was like where's this going and then voila. I'm sure no bugs were harmed in the making of this video.
I think they survived. They may have been a little dizzy though 🤣
Wow,……you are a Craftsman ! Thanks for sharing !
I hope you are paying your brain time and a half for overtime Jack Mack , because it desearves it . 99.99% of the stuff your brain comes up with is incredible . Thanks once again for sharing a wonderful ride .
Nice one Ric. Much appreciated. Glad you are enjoying the content. Hopefully got some nice vids in store soon. Anything you would like to see?
Your vids always keep me guessing right up to the end. Loved the rainbow chunks and the dizzy bugs 💜
😊 thank you Nex. Much appreciated 👍🏻
I have this hallarious vision in my head what those beetles were doing in there before you found them! LoL😂😅
Dancing?

Hi Jack whatba magnificent and unique vase well turned. Amanda x
Veeery nice! Your inlay gives a fair imitation of the effect of bark. Well done, on a lovely piece
Thank you. Would you have it in your home ?
I'm blown away with this process and imagination it required, bravo work
Remarkable result, not what I imagined it would be like. The black resin toned down the rainbow pieces just the right amount. Superb end result, thanks for sharing. Greetings from Tasmania Australia 👍😁🇦🇺🦘
That’s so cool
OUTSTANDING JOB. I love what you did with practically nothing
Nice one D. Glad you enjoyed it 😊

I was like....."Yooo......Critters!!!" Beautiful outcome tho!!!😎👍👍👍
Did it make you itchy? 🤣
@JackMackWoodturning Yesss! I'm seein critters everywhere out the corner of my eye! It's like wen sum1 finds a tick on them, suddenly I feel'em crawlin all over me!!!🤣🤣🤣
A work of art.
You like it ?
Welcome back! It looks like tiny books floating in the resin
Nice. I hadn’t thought of that. Are you a librarian?
@@JackMackWoodturning No I’m not. It just popped into my mind. 😊
Once again your innovation and artistic skills have created another Master.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it buddy
I was waiting for your video, great 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️
Sorry to keep you waiting. Was it worth it ?
@@JackMackWoodturning Your videos are really great, dear teacher❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely a work of art great job
The varying sizes of material gives it an outworldly look. Also dimension.
Woonderful Beautiful🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ You are very skilled. God bless you!
A lovely Vase!
Wow!!!I love it!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you
Stunning....😊
Nice one J. How’s it going?
Beautiful piece of art!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Like a jar full of sweeties.🍬 Amazing work.
Just beautiful!
Thank you
Though I really like the project, I would have love the idea of the finished vase Without filling the spaces. I’ve seen some sculptures with this concept of blank spaces between the body or so, so a open vase could have been very nice too.
Beautiful work as always ❤❤
Thank you! 😊 Nice to see you M ❤️
A great way to begin the day with a notification of your newest video. Its been a while in patiently awaiting what your next creation would be.
Stunning handsome finish!!
Thanks. Sorry to keep you waiting. Back to normal service now
@@JackMackWoodturning Jack, your videos are always worth the wait. 😀😀 I do understand life happens and circumstances may cause delays in posting new videos.
Another great video! Nice edit at 1:08 when the tail stock (piece on the left) was moved back to allow the wood to fit!🎉
Nice one! Most people don’t notice these things. 👀
Really an awesome piece of art... Great job 👍👍
I love to watch you and your imagination at work ! ! !
Thank you so much 😀 Glad you enjoyed it F 👍🏻
Not real sure how your mind works, but I'm impressed! That is amazing.... As ALWAYS! 😊
Beautiful Jack.
Thanks Jack. How are you?
Well presented and thought out, definitely informative
Lovely way to make this piece of wood usable. I love it.
so pretty!! TYFS
Thank you! 😊
Wow. That really is amazing. Question: when you cut Hawthorn, does it stink? I've read that it has a stink almost like death. Just wondered.
Absolutely stunning 👏✌️🌳
It is so beautiful.
Thanks Mary. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
That's cool; but definitely different. Like it! [Haven't seen woodlice since I was a kid; long time ago.]
Thanks. Sounds like you need to go turn over some stones 😊
That is absolutely beautiful.
Great 👍👏👏
That must have been a quite intense G-Force training for these bugs.
Totally Awesome 👍 Over the Top!!!

Hitting the wood (with the axe) while still mounted in the machine... Won't it damage bearing or bent axes?..
What is your lathe made from ?
No, this won’t damage the bearings.
Hello Jack beautifully done good job
Thanks
Great job! Thank you .
Nice one man. How’s it going?
@@JackMackWoodturning Thanks! I'm doing well, how about you?
🌹🌹
Awesome piece of work.
Thanks buddy
What a save !! 👍👍
Nice work
Uniquely wonderful. 👏🏻
Many thanks! Did you like the colours?
@@JackMackWoodturning sure did . Clever thinking.
Increíble.
Thanks man 😎
Loved it all, but the bugs. 🙂
Me wondering how drunk those bugs must be before getting sucked into the vac. 🤣
just gorgeous
I liked it all, however I would use 2 different colors of filler epoxy. Possible a deep red with green metallic swirl or deep green with cherry red metallic flakes or silver.
Do you do a lot of resin work? How about greens ? I like greens
@@JackMackWoodturning none of my work was done on a lathe. I did too many bar tops and coffee tables. The most enjoyable work was making resin picture frames for paintings of all sizes. Floating frames with Lego pieces, puzzle pieces, money, fly fishing gear, empty bullets gun cartridges, little gears & springs from old watch parts. Each one I made was one of a kind. It was just too much work for how little $ I got back. People wanted frames for 20 dollars. It stopped being enjoyable. working for free and too many orders to fill made me stop.
Liquorice allsort vase!
That’s beautiful!
Amazing piece of artwork Jack, thanks for sharing with us.
My pleasure Rona. Thanks for watching 😊👍🏻
Splendid!
Good joob guys
Guys?

That wood must have superpowers given those insects managed to get through all that spinning....
I think they are still dizzy 😵💫
Brilliant
STUNNING AS ALWAYS 🎉. Hope you got rid of the bugs in your shop.
Ahh my shops full of wood lice and spiders and slugs. 😉
Super job
Thanks Bev. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Superb. 👍
Thank you
