African Sumac Difficulties! 🙎 Wood Turning

  • This is a very hard wood. The bark is delicate, even though it doesn't look like it. What should have been a two day turning became three because of the difficulties I found along the way. Finished in Feed & Wax.

Phil, African Sumac is not toxic. The sumac shrub, sometimes called poison sumac is, but they are a different family. African Sumac is in the same family as cashew.
And you should be pleased with it. It came out very nice. It even looks soft on screen!
