I'm about what works and what puts Jackpot fish in my bag (SoCal walk on party boats use burlap bags) btw I miss that chrome over Detroit Steel. They don't make em like that anymore.
yep, vehicles are dull and boring today...my only brand new truck was a 1986 ford 4x4 f-150 that I took to N.D. when in the USAF, and I had so much CHROMED STEEL on that thing it shined when covered up in a N.D. snow bank. Made it ez to find.

Well on Monday I finally found a new old stock 2020. just a regular 2020 not a highspeed but $300 was worth it to me Actually most of my fishing reels are 5.4:1 gear ratoo or 6.1:1 but I got a few at 7.4. Either way
Capt Dave's Sport Fishing I own a few ambassadors new and one from 1960s that I got for unlocking somebody’s car( funny story an old lady was locked out (im a locksmith) and her old 90s f150 had the bed full of junk stacked over the cab. I saw the old red abu reel really clean laying in a bucket and i said “thats a cool looking reel” lady goes “oh im throwing all of that out take it”) Well the new ones are literally identical just more bearings, an anti reverse bearing, and gear ratio. They’re durable reels but old old old

Capt Dave's Sport Fishing If you remember me I commented about shimano calcutta, which I love but these silver ryogas really seal the deal. I do have a question for you, I have a little travel rod that needs a smaller reel. How much smaller is a Ryoga 1012 than a 1016? Does the 1012 cast as well considering it has 2 centrifugal brake pins vs z mag? I am leaning towards the 1012 but need some input from somebody who uses them on the daily. So does the 1012 cast as good and how much smaller is it?
@@Sth-qd2xn the numbers really don't mean reel size as much as the PE line thing, or diameter I think....not sure. Yes a bit smaller, but not radical. they all cast well in my book, even my 2025 jiggers, with no disengaging levelwinds. But yeah a 1012 would be fine I think on a travel rod. I had one for a short time and sold it and got a bay jigger 2025, with the big single power handle........I should be using it on these big redfish, with my tiger jigging rod. just am addicted to the do-all'ness of those intercoastal rods, which have the 5 to 1 ratio 2020 reels on them.

It doesn't matter for the ''channel'', TH-cam rates everything on ''watch minutes'' these days anyhow. And only promotes channels with massive view. I'm a pimple on the office dogs azz, to them.
Good gear vid Capt Dave, Hey I had one of those Prima Donna types bash Ugly Stik about a week ago. If you cant get it done with an ugly, you cant get it done. You prefer a double paddle reel over a single? "I mean for you not your customers" If so why, or it just dosen't matter
on a casting reel, doubles are okay. for me, it really doesn't matter. My ''jigging ryogas' have a single, that I bottom fish with. just to differentiate which is for what......plus the ''for casting'' has the z mag system and the jigging, I use for bottom fishing doesn't have the z mag system.

@@CaptDavesSportfishing You can get the Z's for the same price. On average they go for a bit higher, but you can get them for the same price as the Ryoga's
Your ‘ rough’ daiwa has salt in the grease between the gears. Need to clean those. If u dont want to open the gear box mail it to me and i will make is smooth once again. I replaced the grease on mine just to change the feeling. I put extra thick grease on the gears for max protection. Makes them feel suppppper smooth, if thats even possible.
If I didn't have 60 plus reels to keep up. I can break them down to parade rest. I do shit like that in February. That one has always been a bit ''less smooth''.

GOT MANY 2020'S MYSELF....what great reels. Makes a Abu Garcia seem like a 1950's reel.
