Someone said in an interview a few years back that some of Su's practice methods include running on a treadmill and jumping rope while singing. Don't think I ever heard something like this before, but then again, don't think I ever heard someone sing like this before while doing choreo.

'Amore' might better show off Su's technical abilities, but 'Akatsuki' is a great emotional song. Guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus (left) and Takayoshi Ohmura (right). As usual BOH was on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. I've said it before, but Su doesn't need to fear any of the pyrotechnics because she is fire herself. That solo (and Rondo of Nightmare from the same concert) are what sold me on BABYMETAL.

Queen Su has a couple other things in common with the mighty Macedonian conqueror. First, there is her self-avowed desire to conquer the world, albeit in her case through music. Then there is the story about a much earlier performance at Saitama Super Arena in 2008. Back then Su was the youngest member of a pop/idol trio called Keren Girl's. Having never played such a large venue before, the two older girls were naturally a bit nervous about it. Su on the other hand was so confident that she decided to take a nap before the show, and slept so soundly that someone had to go wake her. The first time I read this story it actually gave me a chill because there is an eerily similar story told about Alexander before the Battle of Gaugamela. Now that we had a su solo we need a moa/yui feature aka Black Babymetal. Most popular choice is Onedari daisakusen live, but GJ! and Sis.Anger both have great live compilations too.
BBQ Su by the end of this, she gets cooked. Su is a super pro, she started at 8 years old, was in a music academy, Anime band, Idol band and had a ton of vocal coaches. Her Mom said she was a very loud kid, the neighbors must have hated her.

It's pronounced Akatski. The U is silent. Someone said the U is silent in japanese but if that is true how do you pronounce 'Suzuka'? Oh and the Kami Band is pronounced like Commie. But they are definitely capitalists.
Scott Humphreys OK I’m going to put my 3.5 months of learning the Japanese language to a test here and say that U is often, though not always, silent. The reason for it often not being pronounced is that in Japanese there is no S character... the only stand-alone consonant is N. So, in this case the character for SU is used in order to get to the S. Also, on another note, they have no words for brother or sister...only older/younger brother/sister.

It's pronounced Akatski. The U is silent. Someone said the U is silent in japanese but if that is true how do you pronounce 'Suzuka'? Oh and the Kami Band is pronounced like Commie. But they are definitely capitalists.

Scott Humphreys OK I’m going to put my 3.5 months of learning the Japanese language to a test here and say that U is often, though not always, silent. The reason for it often not being pronounced is that in Japanese there is no S character... the only stand-alone consonant is N. So, in this case the character for SU is used in order to get to the S. Also, on another note, they have no words for brother or sister...only older/younger brother/sister.

And the U isn't totally silent for me, almost but not completely. Hard to explain, not an English native speaker 😅
