Next up I think is Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 because it's my 2nd favorite Babymetal song, has a great message, great dance, and helped cement their presense on a global stage with unfamiliar metalheads. Probably not everyone is going to agree with me, but if you are looking at just a single song, in my opinion „Gimme Chocolate“ is closer to the essence of BABYMETAL than this song. Don’t get me wrong, I love „Rondo of Nightmare“, it might be my favourite song, but the carefree, happy and catchy tunes are pretty much a trademark of theirs, while songs like this one or „Road of Resistance“ are relatively light on the kawaii element and lean mostly to the Metal side. BABYMETAL wouldn‘t be BABYMETAL without songs like „Gimme Chocolate“. As I said, this is not supposed to be criticism at your words, I just hope you are ready for more of their more playful side. In the end it‘s the girls’ happy smiles that make all the difference.
I agree. Of all Babymetal songs, I like 'Death' least, and 'Gimme' next least. Not that they are bad, really. They are just so hyped and over-popularised that any interest in them has just faded away for me. (Actually, I never really liked 'Death' much anyway; although I can see the appeal and wouldn't claim it's not a good track.) But I keep forgetting that for reactors who are diving into the foxhole completely fresh and unafflicted, this isn't an issue and they can enjoy them for the first time, without preconceptions. With that perspective, the 'Gimme' and 'Iine' and 'Doki Doki' set makes a lot of sense for initial reactions. Get an idea of how fun the band is first; then see how their range can stretch in other, more serious directions of awesome too. But I'm totally glad to see such a great reaction to Rondo. Yeah, watching 'Gimme Chocolate', several years ago, to see what Babymetal's about was the mistake I made too. "Well... that was.. interesting...", and didn't really listen much for years. And then I got into watching a lot of reactions, and that fixed that. Carry on. Sir!
Lol...yeah... I was intrigued by their interesting take on rock/metal with Gimme chocolate and hoped to give it a second go and see what else they did... COMPLETELY different... third song... COMPLETELY different than first 2... just unbelievable that one band has so many facets that work and are well done😎
Every song is different. There are some that hit similar styles but there is always a very clear distinction.

Probably not everyone is going to agree with me, but if you are looking at just a single song, in my opinion „Gimme Chocolate“ is closer to the essence of BABYMETAL than this song. Don’t get me wrong, I love „Rondo of Nightmare“, it might be my favourite song, but the carefree, happy and catchy tunes are pretty much a trademark of theirs, while songs like this one or „Road of Resistance“ are relatively light on the kawaii element and lean mostly to the Metal side. BABYMETAL wouldn‘t be BABYMETAL without songs like „Gimme Chocolate“.
As I said, this is not supposed to be criticism at your words, I just hope you are ready for more of their more playful side. In the end it‘s the girls’ happy smiles that make all the difference.
I agree. Of all Babymetal songs, I like 'Death' least, and 'Gimme' next least. Not that they are bad, really. They are just so hyped and over-popularised that any interest in them has just faded away for me. (Actually, I never really liked 'Death' much anyway; although I can see the appeal and wouldn't claim it's not a good track.)
But I keep forgetting that for reactors who are diving into the foxhole completely fresh and unafflicted, this isn't an issue and they can enjoy them for the first time, without preconceptions. With that perspective, the 'Gimme' and 'Iine' and 'Doki Doki' set makes a lot of sense for initial reactions. Get an idea of how fun the band is first; then see how their range can stretch in other, more serious directions of awesome too.
But I'm totally glad to see such a great reaction to Rondo. Thanks, Jimmy!

Given visible light, most people can see more towards the red end of the spectrum. That doesn't mean that all light is red. Or that only red light is good. Or that blue light is elitist. Or that infra-red is completely impossible to see.
There isn't even a very good definition of 'red'.

People recommend Gimme Chocolate as a first song just to mess with you. It's a nice song, I love to listen to it, but as a band introduction it's not the best. Glad you listened to more, they've got many different sides to them
