That red paint turned this beautiful guitar into a crime scene. Thanks for bringing this beauty back to life.
You make this look so easy! I recently bought a used Squier in an attempt to restore its finish to stock, and upgrade it. It seemed a lot easier to watching you do it. lol. But it’s a great learning experience. I would have never attempted it if I hadn’t been inspired by your channel!
The ones he cleans up are faked aging.
I can't believe someone painted over that awesome finish. The striping going through the whole guitar is amazing.
@@bigchonk LOL it still baffles me how someone could be so ignorant of instrument restoration to call this a fake, yet search for this content on YT
you obviously know nothing if you can't look at all of his thumbnails and see the similarities@@f.t2542
@@f.t2542oh yeah totally fake. I could tell by the way he 100% restored those two frets with resin lol
レジンで指板作っちゃうのか!!
スゴすぎる…
Incredible job!!! The spirits of Matsumoku are with you!!!❤ Some of the finest guitars ever made.... I'm so fortunate to own three of them. Not the model that you just restored, but other models. I remember seeing that same model in an Aria Pro II catalog from 1979.❤
The fretboard repair was daring! Very well done!
could have used a torch or a heat gun to get rid of the air bubbles or just smoothed out the hack scalloping attempt.
No entiendo como alguien puede maltratar asi un instrumento!!! Por suerte está usted que los devuelve a la vida!!! Admirable trabajo!!!
夏休みに自前スキャロップ加工したあの日の思い出が蘇る
Hello Friend, as usual, fantastic restoration on that rare Aria Pro II ! Filling up the 2 damaged spaces on the fingerboard is just daring and genius and you did it very well. Its original varnish is pretty nicely preserved and gives this guitar a beautiful look. Thank you for this super nice video and see you soon...
It isn’t genius. The wood around the resin will contract in the winter and swell in the summer. The resin will just fall out.
@@thegoodguy44my thoughts exactly. He should have just pulled all the frets and splice a new piece in the damage section. I was cringing the whole time
@@panzerlieb I guess it's for the "WOW" factor in these videos. Most of the people who watch these things don't understand that he's basically made it defective. I just hope he doesn't sell these guitars. It would be sad if some kid bought it, and then 6 months later it just pops out and he makes it even worse by trying to put it back in with superglue or something.
At that point I would've tried to finish the scalloping job. Wouldn't be the prettiest but at least it will work
@@TemkaUwU ehh, looks like it was too botched up to save the poor attempt at scalloping.
But maybe that’s the point of these videos, to learn from others mistakes. I chalk this one up as a solid what not to do.
Wasn't expecting to hear some Unwound today. ❤
october all over was the last song i would expect to hear on a play through, love it
The fact that guitar was painted .. it looks so much better now
i know you probably listen to pretentious white boy jazz, but yes, a lot of people in non-hardass genres decorate their instruments.
Now THAT is a gorgeous instrument. Very clever fix on the neck. Nice work.
The way you fixed that fretboard is GENIUS !!!!!!!
It’s not genius. It’s lazy and stupid.
That resin repair of the fretboard was wild but it makes sense if you dont have a large workshop and lots of wood.
Very cool idea filling the fretboard with resin.
If I ever see a new video from you, I know it’s gonna be a good day. Awesome job!
Sometimes you choose a guitar and I'm thinking "why even bother??", but this turned out to be a real beauty!
I also thought that you were going to glue in a replacement rosewood block into the fretboard. The resin idea caught me by surprise. I personally would have just finished scalloping the fretboard from the 12th on up. Not because I would want a scalloped fretboard, but because it would be the easy way!
ARIA PROⅡのこのシリーズのフォルムすごい好きです
Wow, you really find creative ways to save these guitars! Great work!
Seeing an Aria Pro II TS-600 in this condition breaks my heart. I'm going to have to skip to the end to see it saved! I have a TS-300, and the 600 is my dream guitar
Ok, crisis averted. Excellent job!!
Saving the world - one guitar at a time. Always a pleasure to watch. Helpful when I need to get inspired to get back to work on my builds. I can't believe somebody did that to a 5 piece neck-through. Good thing they gave up on butchering that scallop mod. I'm guessing they were trying to scallop it above the 12th.
These have accidentally became my favorite type of videos
You did a great job! I have exactly the same guitar model in Poland. A good instrument from the Matsumoku workshop from the 1980s.
I would've removed that fretboard and made a new one with all new inlays. That's the only thing that keeps it from being a full restoration. This is a true product of old world tech from when I was young. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I wish I had something that beautiful in my collection. Why would they have messed with such a beautiful instrument?! Glad you were able to bring it back to its original glory!
Beautiful work and beautiful guitar underneath all that mess. I'm amazed that you are also a Botch fan! 'We Are The Romans' is one of the greatest albums ever made.
Each of your videos that I have watched has seen me digging through my record collection afterwards to find the tracks I recognize from your little jam sessions at he end. This time it was October All Over. What a beautiful track. Great taste my friend.
Stunning work there!! And that JC clean sure sounds sweet!!
toughest one yet never saw the resin coming true brilliance and focus great job
There was wood grain gold hidden under the paint - What a beauty! Interesting solution to the shaved neck.
I love that thru body neck and the strings coming through the back. I think it's all important love that guitar.
Thanks ...
Ox filled some small holes in the frett board before, but that is awesome, you can see the beauty of the wood grain well done.
Damn man ,,, you can jam ...
Cool ,,, original. !!!
Nice work. Aria has used some pretty decent hardware.
No Instrument is lost.... i like your Work!
I reckon this is your best one yet! Amazing work.
Beautiful work! A guitar worth saving.
What a beautiful job you've done with that!! Some people don't deserve to own a guitar when they treat them like it was when you started on it.
All except I can say, is you’re one hell of a craftsman. That was super cool the way you fix it the finger board. I can honestly say that is one beautiful guitar. I love the natural wood body. It sounds pretty good. You did a beautiful job.👍🏼👍🏼❤️😎😁🎸🎸
Wow!! That is one cool guitar! It deserves a restoration.Great Job!!
Unwound ❤
Beautiful guitar Great save !!
Beautiful work!
Im so happy you played botch at the end! Now I can teach myself those riffs >:]
whats the song?
Nicely done, I bet thats a good guitar, with the trough body neck. It’s criminal what some people do to ‘personalise’ their guitars.
Fantastic work as always.
まさかの埋め方!めちゃくちゃ観ててワクワクしました!
That was brilliant, litterly brand new again, was wondering about that fret board and that was amazing.
It’s not done yet; needs your logo on it. Excellent attention to detail.
Outstanding work!
What a unique guitar! It kind of looks like a mix between an SG and a fender offset with the control setup of a Les Paul Recording, Very cool 😎
And a little bc rich thrown in
Totally. I've never seen a neck though Aria. Nice find.
That one is beautiful! Great job.
Everything but the epoxy was great. The intonation was definitely affected by that fix. Otherwise, great job cleaning it up.
That was a hell of a transformation!
I love your work my man.
The guitar sounds very good in clean mode i like how you repeared
Those Aria's were very well made with top end features - I like the deep bridge plate, string-thru and the brass nut. and the lovely laminated body
Wow surprising how great it looked under that horrible paint job, great job in the frets, what was someone trying to achieve in destroying those 2 frets, great job 👌👍
Great work! Who’d have guessed what lay beneath all that horrible paint.
wow! this person really abused their guitar. many kudos for bringing this back to the beautiful state it was meant to be in.
In 30 years, I don't think I EVER stuck a sticker on a guitar...
i cannot believe that someone did this on this great instrument.
Fantastic job of restoring a “ classic guitar “ that rivals the Gibson or Fender from that era. I’ve owned several of those Aria’s they are awesome guitars.
Damn. It felt like a painting over those wood grains is a crime.
Neck-thru beauty. Outstanding work, as always!
Great job, I love these Arias
Aria pro was popular in the 70's & 80's
Beautiful!
Is that a Botch riff at the end? Very nice. Great band. You did an excellent job restoring the guitar.
I like your playing demos, great riffs
Epoxy filling that region is an intresting choise, for sure. From far away it is not really visible, and it keeps the appearance of the original grain pattern. But I would still prefer to replace that whole fingerboad piece with real wood. Excellent work on restoring it regardless 👍
I agree. Great work, but the wood is going to expand/contract at a different rate than the epoxy. I expect eventually the two materials will separate.
@@jonathanmartin3375 a question to that. if thats true, why do the guitar's with apoxy in the body to fill gaps, and to make a design stay togeither, and not move, why would this?
@@justadsa Guitar bodies are extremely stable compared to necks. Necks change their shape every time you change strings, in addition to all the truss rod adjustments.
@jonathanmartin3375 thank you for letting me know. I thought the body was as stable as a neck. I do know they move a lot, depending on Temps, and stuff like that. Thank you again for answer my questions about that.
Perfect furniture, totally worth it. Nice
There was a beautiful guitar under all that mess. Great job.
Thank You for sharing with us and letting us watch over your shoulder! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
sick video as usual 🤘
You did a really good job that looks like a really a nice guitar.
Beautifully done again 🥂
Awesome!! also cool guitar
with over 200 comments on this i am sure someone else has already said this. But past the rad restore job, big ups on the Unwound & Botch! 💘
Cool guitar , great work. 👍👏🙂
Impressive neck restoration! Would never have thought to fill in with resin. Looks good and apparently doesn't effect playability. You're good! The rest of the guitar looks awesome!
I am a bit puzzled by that choice, it will look ugly basically scratched up after use quite shortly.
Another thing I find odd is a 9V battery inside a guitar. Never seen nor heard such a thing being installed inside a guitar. What is it's purpose at all also I don't want to even imagine what kind of mess it will create when it leaks inside the guitar plus it's toxic.
Beautiful guitar
That's a pretty looking guitar once you got the paint off.
this was great.always something to learn.I expected a piece of rosewood, would never dream of using resin.
Great job!
beautiful guitar
I like your vids man, keep with good work 🙂
Stunning finish...
A beautiful restoration of a 1980 Matsumoku masterpiece....
Nobuaki Hayashi (H. Noble, chief designer at Matsumoku and president of Atlansia Guitars) would really enjoy seeing this video!! 😀👍🙏🙏
Wauw....you did a good job. I have an old Aria Pro 3 and it plays very nice.
I can't believe what someone did to this beautiful guitar.... another excellent restoration.
How much time did it take to clean it and repair it?
Amazing restoration, and then slamming some Botch on there? Perfect!
Awesome and nice to hear some Botch! 💪
I liked the Metal paint job…
Last thing I expected to hear you play at the end was Botch!
Excelente trabajo y excelente guitarra
Neck thru! Very cool. Interesting fretboard repair. I would have just put in some new wood.
Wow, nice grain underneath all that mess. Surprised you didn't glue in a piece of wood for the fretboard, but turned out great.
that's fantastic !
WOW amazing job
