The tools, knowledge and experience for this really opens a lot of possibilities up since damaged or old worn instruments are out there and cheap. This would be fun to be able to do.
Nice I did the same once with a old beat up bass from a pawnshop. Paid 20$ also. Restored it with fender parts I bought from eBay on the cheap side. Basically it’s a 90s fender jazz bass now.
I had a memphis branded bass identical to that a while back that I fixed up, I can only assume it was manufactured by cort, it worked out great because I happened to have the tuners and bridge from an older squier bronco and a mexican p-bass pickup lying around and they were a direct fit, it was super light and fit in a guitar-sized case which were cool
Great work man. About to start a "Kay" made in Korea bass I got off of a friend. Looks just like this one. Got a lot of good tips from this video. Much love from Ashland Virginia, USA.
Used 2 bottle clear coat (lacquer )to cover the entire body and then ,sand the body from 1000 1500 to 2000 "you can you higher grid if you want" to remove all the orange peel .Then just use Carnauba Wax Car Polish
thanks for sharing! that's a beautiful finish. pickups sounded really rumbly and distorted... not sure if that was just on the vid versus how it sounded in person.
I cannot believe this showed up on my feed. I’ve owned this bass since the 80s. This is very inspiring.

That was an interesting choice of color; however, you did a fantastic job on this restoration. Well done, sir.
Thank alot try to go for green surf but I can't find no spray can of that color
@@punkrockengineer3542I used Behr "Tropics gloss" on mine, it came out very much like a seafoam

My first bass that I got when I was 9 was a white Cort bass identical to this one. I’m in my forties now 😂
Nice job mate. The colour is great. Phil from London saying Hi.

Thank alot I think I'm using a guitar amp instead of a bass amp so it created those distorting
I hope to see more from you. You're good.
Thank 😊
Beautiful work.
Very, very cool!!
Now I’m going to be on the lookout for a bass at the monthly flea market 😂
you will surprise what u found out there 😆😆
hi ! looks like a Hohner (or Rockwood) LX 200 baron bass too (I've got one) . Nice job indeed.
I thought it looks like a Westone Thunder 1A
Cool, thanks!
very nice, wish I could restore my bass just like that
You can do it! Just need do it slow and patient
Obviously short scale... what is the length? Beautiful color choice!!!
yes it a short scale bass the scale length is 30 inches
pretty cool
GR8 VIDEO...REALLY GOOD...BUT YOU SHOULD WEAR HEAVY DUTY GLOVES, WHEN CUTTING...IT IS A MUST FOR LUTHIERS LIKE YOU...
que bonito quedó 🩷
I wish I lived somewhere where I could get a used instrument like this for less that fity bucks, but alas I don't
Try out your local fleamarket and thrift store regularly, you find some in those places. I have to go every two week to get a deal like that
Behs ❤
Nice attempt
Putting paint thinner on the fretboard… that was not wise.
Like chrome plating a turd.
