The songs, the sound, musuc , lighrs performace atmosohere. At one point i realised i was so taken in i was crying. If you watch any songs from his musuc of sohrres tour. Wow
My dog died 6 months ago and I'm 18 and had him since I was 5. I grew up with him, did everything with him and when I want to think about him I always play Yellow and O. Coldplay is such a wonderful band and I'll always support them💛💛
Fun Fact: This song is only called "yellow" because when Chris was composing the song there just happened to be a copy of The Yellow Pages telephone directory on a nearby table. And, well, "it was all yellow"
The best song Coldplay ever made by miles. Well this song is so nostalgic for me its definitely hard to compete. They have so many good songs. Coldplay is definitely a legendary band to say the least. Chris Martin is definitely one of my favorite vocalists.
The singer is Chris Martin - completely genuine man, always doing nice things for people and wait till you see what he can do with a crowd , you shoud try Skyful of stars live at river plate ( south america) keep in mind that is not an english speaking audience. Fix you is also a must as a song writer he gets right to the heart of the matter every time. Yellow the colour of optimism , sunshine, brightness ,positivity and spring flowers
My friend died at 23 at cancer( almost 20 years ago), 4 month after his diagnose. At his service in church, 1 week after his funeral we played this song on huge speakers and 2 of us were driving his motorbike to the altar and a picture he painted was projected to the altar (our priest was more than openminded;-)) Yellow was one of his favorite songs and it fitted perfectly with this „action“ at church. Until today my tears still keep falling after all these years. It was his song, it was this song saying goodbye to him! Long story short message: we will never forget you Thomas!! We still miss you like crazy!
My dad used to sing this to my little sister all the time when she was born. Every time I hear it I just picture my dad holding my baby sister. Great memories. Absolutely love Coldplay check out the scientist next
This song was released in 2000. I used to take the bus from Hoboken, NJ to Port Authority in NYC to get to work every morning. "Parachutes" (this song is on that CD) was always in my CD Walkman (!) as I travelled to work. One of the reasons that I love music is because it connect me/anyone to the past. Hearing this song immediately transports my mind to 2000 when I enjoyed living 15 minutes from New York City in my mid-20s. Thank you for the upload!
Fun fact their band was first named Starfish. At the time, Chris Martin had a friend, Tim Crompton, whose band Coldplay was on the verge of breaking up. This band had the name Coldplay from a children's poetry collection ('Child's Reflections: Cold Play') and Martin decided to adopt the name himself after the band stopped.
The video was a last minute thing, they had a video planned with the band, but the drummers mum died suddenly so the other band members looked after him whilst they sent Chris off to do video, it was their first hit, the film crew were booked they had to do something, think they did awesome
It rained all day, they had hired extras but couldn't do anything. So they sent everybody home. Chris Martin grabed the cameraman : let's try something...
I think Chris Martain has a really interesting soul. I think he and Gwyneth really loved each other. They inspired each other. Its a blessing to be loved even for a moment on that level!
All their songs match a human emotion. Pick an emotion, there is a Coldplay song. They are also the best performers on the planet. Their concerts are unbelievable.
I love Coldplay. Fix you, Liva la vida, The Scientist, A sky full of stars. Chris Martin has a voice that haunts you and speaks deep to your soul. Chris has worked with other artists too and also has a,love of hip hop and collaborated on Jay-z 's album Kingdom Come. He has also worked with Kanye West and Aviici too.
This is from the first album Parachutes, I absolutely love it. There's loads more music from them, but start there and work your way out. They have played huge stadiums all over the world and have sold millions of albums. I find them a bit vanilla nowadays but I should just appreciate how good they are. The rabbit hole is massive 🇬🇧🔊
I remember this song 27 years ago as a young fella. There is a sayong learnt when i was 8 Treat them mean keep them keen. And nice guys finish last. It's sad but ill always be nice causey fave quote is "treat people the way you want to be treated"
This song was released in 2000, 24 years ago. I fell in love with Coldplay because of this song. Their first 3 albums were 🔥 and I saw them live 3 times. Got bored of them in the Vida La Vida era. It was also the deep into Gwyneth era. 😴
I got to see them at the Rose Bowl in 2023. I'm 64 years old and I've seen a lot of really great bands but Coldplay was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Next time I'm bringing my granddaughter. Their song Fix You, live at River Plate is a great performance. Love how the crowd gets into it too.
I still love someone I haven't seen in over 10+ years now and I will never stop. She doesn't even think about me most likely, but I know that I have and still do feel true love.
Makes me cry every time this song. Reminds me so much of my late partner Stu who sadly died from MND two years ago. Beautiful but emotive. "Look at the stars, look how they shine for you" 💕🙌
Coldplay is my favorite band of all time. Been a very big fan since 2005. Their album A Rush of Blood to the Head is a masterpiece with The scientist, Amsterdam, clocks, in my place and many more. The Scientist always gets me very emotional, I love that song.
@GrowingDownUnder it still is your opinion. One that I didn't ask for. It's a matter of taste. I love the music of Coldplay, and I don't find them overrated. If you don't like their music, just skip the video and don't bother other people with YOUR OPINION.

Love Coldplay! So many great songs. I went to the U2 Elevation concert at the Tacoma Dome in early 2001. A Seattle radio station, KISW 99.9 FM “The Rock”, had put out a promotional, compilation, cd of up and coming bands/musicians to watch for. They were handing them out as you entered the concert. Yellow was on it. I was instantly obsessed❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
This came out in 2000. In the flood of pop and hip hop music, THIS appeared, and it stood out like a sore thumb. 🇬🇧 Coldplay & "Fix You" is another beautiful song. Btw, Chris (lead singer) was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow for a while, had kids but sadly it didn't work out. But they are still the best of friends, and Chris also gets on really well with Gwyneth's partner/husband. That's really cool. 😊
The song recording is heavily engineered with numerous overdubs and music effects. In order to get the video effect, the video was recorded in one continuous take at twice the normal frame speed with Chris Martin also singing at double speed. The video speed was then slowed down to normal speed, which gives the effect of slow motion. Martin later said the lyric "Yellow", had no particular meaning and originally was a place holder, thinking he would replace it with something else, but eventually yellow just sounded right.
We traveled through Ireland in 2019. Every town we went to had amazing buskers and and street artists. And this song “Yellow” was the most played by all of them.
Yes Coldplay is a British band. I saw them in San Francisco when they were still unknown. They were promoting their album Parachute released in 2000. They were amazing
I was fortunate enough to see Coldplay perform at the London 2012 Paralympics Closing Ceremony, to say it was an amazing experience is an understatement.
Yes, they began filming just at the very start of sunrise and fiddled it to take more time. Or something like that. I’m sure you’ve seen sunrise where you are but if you ever can be on an eastern shore at sunrise and observe it, it’s amazing. arrive in the hour before, there will be enough light to walk there. My siblings and I , and all our kids and grandchildren, did this the day after our mother’s funeral as she ❤ to watch the sunrise at the beach. It was a beautiful morning and the pictures make me so happy. 😊
You need to listen to more Coldplay they are one of the best British bands and his voice is just one of the best And coming from th uk I can honestly say this is a typical day at the beach
This was when they were young and fresh. They have made so many epic albums over the past 20 plus years. Anything from the X&Y album is a great place to go next. As mentioned already “Fix You” will probably make you tear up, if not cry. That album is beautiful and lyrical and real. I remember how emotional it was listening to it the first time. It’s so relatable to how we deal with each other and our relationships we form. I have thought the title is kind of a double meaning. X and Y can represent the male and female chromosomes, but also are very present in Mathematics. Since anatomy is a Science and numerical values placed on so much of what we do I just get a correlation between the two concepts.
My favorite color is yellow, also. I've had so many people ask of all colors, why THAT one? Because it's beautiful, warm, bright, heartfelt, and it's a feel good color. Yellow roses are normally given in adoration of someone. When the sun is out, its a great day. When it's dreary out, how do you feel? Depressed and bummed. Yellow is a gamechanger!
Coldplay are awesome, been lucky to see them twice live and going again in August. So many brilliant songs Clocks and the scientist are two of my favs from earlier days and viva la vida
I have only loved one person like that and she threw it away for one of my so called friends ruined me for years but think i may have gotten lucky in life and found a second chance at that kinf of happiness. Time will tell but this song makes me tink of her so maybe I am the luckiest man alive if I get a second chance at finding that happiness. I would highly recomend checkinmg out more of their catalog of music
This was my first introduction to Coldplay as well... I like it! Thank you for exposing me to this. I really enjoy your reactions and it is times like this that put the icing on the cake for me when it comes to your reactions. I am blessed to have one of those long lasting relationships (we've been together over 47 years since High School, married 44yrs). It takes both to be devoted to each other and "it ain't easy" but he rewards are definitely worth it. Great breakdown of this video and the lyric. As I always say bro, you're the best! Thanks again!
Chris Martin changed music forever! He predicted the rise of Coldplay before they became massive! He knew he was special, and people who believe in themselves normally tend to go on and be successful!
Hmm... They were and are a band, a group of musicians, and maybe he wanted to manifest that they are great, but I doubt he though of himself to be great
The Scientist and Fix You are fabulous as well.
And That was when I ruled the world.
..and many, many more!!!
The Scientist is in my personal top 10 of all time
