The whole first album from top to bottom is excellent, then they slowly dropped off each album after. Amsterdam and The Scientist from the 2nd album, What if and Speed of Sound from 3rd album. There's also a nice live acoustic version of See you Soon
That's my phone's ring tone. The piano intro is the exact length to cover the time it takes for an unanswered call to go to voicemail, LOL. Plus I just love it.
I first saw/heard Clocks when they played it headlining Glastonbury (for the first time I believe). It really stood out for a couple of reasons; it had not yet been released, so it was unknown to the huge crowd. Secondly, it was instantly a hit with the crowd, despite no one knowing it. When I heard that Coldplay were headlining Glastonbury that year, I really feared for them. I loved the first album, but did not think it would work at all in a stadium. How wrong I was. They absolutely knocked it out of the park. It was the start of them being Monster!

There is so much music in the world a person can't possibly hear or know about all of it. It's good he learned about this one today because he likes it.
Fun fact about this video: they shot it using a sped-up version of the song and then slowed it down in post-production to give it that dreamy, floating look. Simple, but stunning effect
My first love, as in my first epic long-term love, and I considered this our song. The entire album, Parachutes, was pretty special to us, really. We listened to it over and over and over and over. It's still one of my favorite albums to this day. :)

This was their first big song in the UK and the one that got me into them. Not long after it was released I gave birth to my first child and I used to sing this to him.
The term "Yellow" is used in the song to refer to the glow of stars, the positive glow of certain people, illumination of the soul, desire, and affection.
