I am glad that there is channel that discusses Histrionic personality disorder in depth and compares it with other cluster B personality disorders. I've dated someone with HPD and this is definitely helpful.
I am dying of laughter, this is spot on!! They are frantic and scatty, always have to be the “life of the party” and centre of attention (and your delivery was hilarious!) 😂😭
Watch out for women who will almost immediately tell you of prior abuse. They won’t just TELL you their sob stories, they’ll DECLARE them, as if they’re entitled to an audience.
I've been abused: emotionally, psychologically, financially, physically - it's terrifying! I don't talk about it unless the person is trusted - and yet here I am telling you and anyone reading this. I guess if someone is a real victim of abuse it changes us on a very deep level, I can't explain it. Some of us keep it to ourselves as we're so traumatized by it and others lose their filter and blurt it out - it may be something to do with suffering C-PTSD. I don't believe I or anyone deserves to be abused. I'm a really soft and mostly quiet person... I'm an extroverted introvert. I prefer to be by myself and reading, studying, researching, but when I need to be in "sales" mode or client mode I come to life and can appear extroverted, but I'm glad when it's over. I was targeted by 2 narc males seeking "mommy replacements" - I was attractive to them because I'm hard working, save my money and I'm nurturing and empathic.
Yessss, 'the one upper'! They can never let you stand in your own light. They always have to devalue you in order to draw more attention to themselves.
i am borderline, and almost fell in love with a histrionic... i thought she was perfect at first... glad I waited as long as I did, her personality came out heavily.
Yes they are on Facebook and the other social media and they usually have came to me and said that they could help me. After three times I noticed a pattern and they were all narcatisst. I keep my distance from Facebook and Instagram and I watch real closely and I don't let nobody in to help me or anything like that. I do my own thing on Facebook and that's about it. Narcatisst are all over social media and everyone needs to watch out before you become there next person that they can walk all over on you and lie and cheat every chance they get. Just beware on Facebook cuz it is loaded with a bunch of those people and they will find you. Know who you talking to and no stranger from another state or country because they are coming so keep your guard up at all times.
I had a (now ex) best friend with HPD, a total nightmare, drove me crazy. I went NO CONTACT with her to save my sanity... It took me a couple of years to get over my anger and frustration. They are bad news.
Had enought with the borderline I married. God knows I have no intentions on meeting more disorder men even if I remain single the rest of my life. It just horrifying
Isabel Izzy id rather jump in front of a train, it would hurt less. It's hard to get over the "fake" person. I was with my ex for 12yrs and feel like a fool. Looking back and seeing what I put up with. Hope you're doing well!!
Do not feel bad. I have a cousin that was married for a long time. She came home and he was gone. You never know with these sub species. Reptilian out of this world men. God bless you. Praying is your most valuable weapon together with no contact
I'm currently dealing with one of these harpies. The description in the video is 100% correct...it fits to a T. The hoovers are unbelievable. I can't get rid of her. She has been stalking me for the past 6 months. These women are very dangerous. They should be locked up, period.
Just diagnosed with this. Very upset about it. Most of my close friends will say that I have been misdiagnosed. Here's my honest reactions to the aspects of this disorder that I supposively have: I BELIVE (AND SO DO MY CLOSE FRIENDS) THAT I AM MISDIAGNOSED. feel the need to be in a close confined area in a large group, I am overtly sexual, I don't draw people to my body, I do not have a filter, I would not have sex with my boss, I am very emotional and care about other people's feelings, I take pride in my appearance, but do not dress like a whore or inappropriately for social situations, I do not try to "one up", I cry at commercials; I do use hand gestures, I am gullible, I do have a problem with "my filter" because I usually trust people, I only have a small group of close friends & relationships. #praiseme #fuckoff
I'm diagnosed as both Borderline and Histrionic. As you said, they're very much hand in hand. I would just like to say that most of us don't want to cause chaos, we don't want to hurt anybody. We live with a lot of pain and insecurity and many of us suffered a lot of trauma, and often abuse. I don't want your pity or sympathy, but I would like to ask people reading this to try to be a little more understanding and tolerant. If you have someone in your life with this disorder and they don't want to help themselves, then fine, they don't deserve your tolerance. But most of us are trying to get help and are on medication and we try. I'm not just speaking for myself either, I know plenty of people with both PDs. Thankyou for taking the time to read this if you did and I hope your day is wonderful.
Natasha Moore thank you for sharing. A hpd tried to ruin my life and relationship with scandal and such. It's so hard to forgive, but I am working on it. I wish you well.
Natasha Moore Hello Natasha, thank you for your comment. I try to let people know that im talking about abusive people only and i never include ALL people with any personality disorder. Thank you again.
You're welcome. I actually love your channel and find your direct, no-bullshit approach really helpful in understanding my illness so thankyou to you too. I know you do, every single time but sometimes it can come across as though you're addressing all people with the disorder. I know it's probably not intended that way though :) I just didn't want people thinking we were all batshit crazy, abusive arseholes. Thankyou for your reply and keep the videos coming! :)
They do share some characteritic but what sets BPD and HPD apart is we are usually high in empathy. It can seriously look the same but the motives and intentions are completely different and if we hurt someone 9/10 we feel really bad about it for a long time. + you're right, not everyone is dead on for diagnosis but may be on a spectrum. The Dsm definitley needs to change that's for sure.
Getting to know what these people alike is good for healing and maybe gives closure to, but still it’s so hard to fight the hurt and the Confusion inside that they cause, when we’ve spent years with these fake people in relationship shared are lives with, then their gone out of our lives like turning a light switch off to be ghosts and to become a stranger with no fucks given. they discard so quickly, this feeling it’s life changing, how does anyone learn to love again and trust, it beyond belief,
Luke Stockbridge I agree. Yes, people tell me light a candle and be grateful that it’s not you anymore and that they’re with someone else now, but still, what does that say about your own sense of reality and what it did to you. How are you supposed to come to peace with it? Just hearing that this is what they are and discovering the deeper levels of betrayal, especially after putting two and two together after seeing a trail of all they must’ve been lying about while they were choosing you in no uncertain terms, Love-bombing you and constantly asking YOU for reassurance, yet building a life with someone else is too much. At what point do you say “ok, this happened, i’m over it”? I don’t know. All I know is that I understand what you’re saying and that finding out more about his lies and just recently seeing him ‘happy’ with someone really made me feel more alone in the world and lonely in a different way (instead of helping me to see what a liar he is and classic everything David explains as far as borderline. I mean it did that too). Because like you said, it makes you feel more lonely and isolated and It made me feel completely not normal to face come into contact with something like this and who’s going to understand, and beyond that, how am I going to ever trust and have something good real after this. Thanks for the video David, and I’m still processing.
Stacey Love Hi I’m sure I’m time we both will heal, it’s been 7 months with no contact from her at all it’s like the 4 years we spent together and living together means fuck all too her oh and we was engaged,. for me it is getting easier But She’s still the person I think of when I wake up, and through out the day she is slowly fading I kinda don’t want to let go, I know I have too
Luke Stockbridge it will take time, but you can do it. You’re on your way. I️n a previous bad situation I had before this more recent one, I would wake up every morning with a sick feeling inside for months, and it was like being stuck but in so much pain. And letting go is always hard. Like David said in a previous video, when it’s real to you, you have to go though a legit grieving process and that’s slightly different for everyone. But it includes everything you’re feeling now. The quotes “the only way out is through” and “if you’re going through hell, keep going,” obviously as you’re educating yourself and sharing with people who understand and watching videos that make total sense to you and tell you that this was the truth, as hard as it is to accept. You will get through it and it will not hurt this much later, as so many here can tell you. Be kind to yourself.
i have hpd and it is a terrible painful desease with which i am cursed to live. i take meds, i go to therapy, i read self-development books, religion book, everything i can to limit the pain. You simply cannot say smth so hurtful like run to hills and stuff because i did not choose this desease, i did not choose my parents and the childhood i had. You can't just say go away, i am human just like you. And not all pacients with this diagnosis are all the same.
Thank you for this video, David. I am convinced that my ex-girlfriend is histrionic. She was the mistress of a former boss, she would never leave the house without high heels on her feet, she has been known to dance on grand pianos at restaurants when she gets drunk/bored, she is well read and has two college degrees but she is incapable of contributing serious content to intellectual discussions, she would ask me how she looked about thirty times per day, "how's my hair, is my face puffy, am I getting fat, should I make my boobies bigger? (they were fine, 36C)." I think that histrionics are basically borderlines who are particularly good looking, with good bodies and seduction skills. They have gone through life using their sexuality and looks--exclusively--to get what they want. Thus, histrionics don't fear abandonment as much as borderlines do because it is so easy for the histrionic to line up new supply.
The most frightening HPD is the collapsed. They have their lifetime of shallow relationships, start to age and can no longer procure outside sources of adulation. They become paranoid rage monsters and need a scapegoat for their own shortcomings. They are incapable of owning their behaviors and typically go after their closest family members. The rage is vitriolic and not fixable.
Thanks for the input on this disorder. It seems Hollywood movies glorify HPD, NPD, BPD, because of the attention. They usually have some victim-mentality currently covert narc who was dumped by his ex girlfriend, and the whole movie is about him shoving the new supply in her face, making the ex jealous or regret, or some other emotional outburst. It usually leads the two women(or men) to fight over the narcs attention, which fuels their euphoria/superiority even more. These movies glorify that crap. I always knew there was something wrong these movies, because they always want to make you feel sorry for the narcissist, but the reality is, only a shitty narc would engage in such childlike behavior to get "revenge" on the ex. Those movies are so stupid and slimy.
Very true, but I feel you didn't explain the fact that cleverer Histrionics are a lot more subtle than you've described. Often these people are even more seriously disordered than the more obvious ones, but they have more quiet and manipulative ways of getting attention, but hold it just as well. They also don't realise what they're doing for the most part, the disorder is so deeply buried that it's under even their radar.
Elu Bel Ra-Tem Harihara That is to look at them as if they're harmless, these people ruin lives and can be the nastiest loudest people you know. It's a spectrum.
Joe Navarro ( retired FBI agent) wrote a book entitled " Dangerous Personalities " and he puts Borderlines and Histrionic under the Emotionally Unstable personality since most people are unfamiliar with each type. Then at the end of each chapter, he gives a checklist of questions that help you figure out if you're dealing with this personality and to what degree. It's a great book. You should take a look at it. Love your videos!
Thanks for the video! I am quite certain I have known a person with this disorder, too close and for too long. But not anymore, and never again, I hope :).
Thank you so much for making these videos. I had to cut someone out of my life recently who I believe struggles with a cluster B. It's been really difficult for me to work through my own feelings about the situation and your videos are really helpful. ♥
David you made me so laugh when you tried to talk like a girl. Great video. Great info and I needed the witty humor mixed in with the education. Thank you so very much.
They "project" their own behaviors on to others. Great vids. I get to Vegas once or twice a year. I am pretty much healed these days (doing very well); but it would be good to talk through some things when I get out there.
Fun fact: A group of the top psychotherapists in the country who specialize in HPD have actually stated they are more on the psychopath side of the spectrum. Being I dated an HPD for a couple years I can tell she had a lot of psychopathic behavior looking back. It wasn't till I read that article did it all make sense. One trait being she got very angry when her ex she cheated on got new a GF in a matter of a month. They want to destroy each victim to the point you cannot move on and or commit suicide. I was so baffled when I saw how mad she got over it. She cheated on him, discarded him like trash, laughed at him for crying after she left him, then got very angry he moved on fast. It was one of the most selfish, evil, vile and disturbing human acts I witnessed. The look of rage in her eyes, me being confused, questioning myself for being with her. In the end she did the same exact thing to me with zero care in the world.
I was diagnosed 20vyears ago with bpd. I was a fat kid with 6 brothers and sisters and I felt because I was fat and not cute that I was invisible to my parents and others I longed for a boyfriend so badly but my dad told me I would never get one fat. My siblings made fun of me....got bullied at school. But when I began treatment early on cause I realized as a young adult that something was wrong. I suffer from depression and I still like attention. I try to stay beautiful....i eventually got thin..... However I'm much better now. I know when I'm thinking wrong.....im empathetic so my level of bpd is low. I never have hurt anyone 8n my life. I married a narcissit and its been so hard but his disorder has made mine even tougher to control. I can control my emotions now . I have 4 kids I adore. I think having bpd made me a great mom cause I make sure my kids are loved and told their beautiful and awesome unlike my parents. The nutshell.....bpd is treatable and can almost disappear with the right help and good friends and loving support system. I got better and I've never had a support system. I jus happen to b a good person so my faith in God allows me to understand i am worthy and my disorder was jus from childhood trauma but I have overcome most all of it on my own. Anything is possible!! God bless (Hormone imbalance in women can make it worse too btw) And I have had issues with suicide attempts but Im a highly sensitive person and I love deeply......ive never tried to destroy anyone's life. Im usually the one who gets victimized Pray for borderline women instead of running them down!!
Wow! I was just wondering why my ex husband won’t leave me alone. Go be divorced! It’s been almost a year already!!! Just in the past few months he’s called the police on me when he was following me. He called DHS because he was worried about the well-being of our kids... and simultaneously canceled his visitation for 2 months. He reported me to the army for child abuse. I’m not in the army! He is! He’s nonstop!!! He’s been quiet for a few days. That normally means he’s planning something big. It’s nonstop vengeance! Go be divorced! Leave me alone!!!
I have a male friend that has an ex like this! She took him to the cleaners when they separated and got a lot out of him... then keeps coming back for more, creates new things she believes he still "owes" her, yet he can't see their child... when she goes quiet we get scared because it means she's up to something! lol 😂
Thanks so much for this video. Im pretty sure shes histrionic. Before I knew as much I just assumed narcissist, but histrionic is basically 100% spot on. It could possibly be BPD or other issues, but at least I’ve narrowed it down.
Cant believe I just found this video, it sure explains A LOT!!! How do you know so much?, it is absolutely astounding to me that you describe things to a T. Slutty clothes,, my God, the slutty clothes! The constant provocative FB pictures, my Lord I am so glad I escaped and found CNXG!! I do thank the universe for you in my nightly prayers. Her friends that always tried to cause shit ALWAYS did whichh left me explaining myself when I didn't even do anything wrong in the first place... I could post 2 whole pages just on this particular video.
`The more i dig into what she is , the more I change my mind. I started out thinking she was a Sociopath, then Narcissist, then Narcissist with Sociopathic tendencies, then Borderline and now Histrionic. I am afraid to dig any deeper, but i just gotta know...David, is that becoming a problem for me...? Wanting to know exactly what she is..? Is that consuming me when the clear and present danger is in fact "HER" and not the label..? Do others like me have the same issue..? Do we all tackle the "WRONG" problem..? I'm thinking I need help...and FAST.
William Pipkin These are labels, you know what she is. This is just doubt which is a product of childhood neglect. You will find more answers in my playlist titled Healing CPTSD.
I’ve been with all 3 of the cluster B’s married to NPD,dated BPD & was best friends with a histrionic PD. I’m not a psychiatrist but from reading up on personality disorders & my own experience I can tell the difference. All 3 have the attention seeking & flirting with anything alive thing in common but NPD’s have no empathy at all towards another human being & will lie cheat steal to get what they want & because they have a grandiose sense of self their aim is to be the greatest or richest & they don’t want to work for it so they look for a host so they can leech what they can off of you & play mind games & tear down your self worth so you are not good for anyone else after they are done with you.BPD’s play the same tricks but they actually do have empathy & can & are mostly willing to get treated. Histrionics aren’t after money or control they just want to be the center of attention at all times & will get moody & irritable if it doesn’t happen. They have to be complimented on every single thing they do & don’t seem to have a mind of their own. Like have a hard time deciding on anything & just mimick other ppls likes & dislikes. They don’t take care of their own life but always try to advice others what to do & try way to hard to make people like them & get pissed off if they don’t get the desired result.
@@daviddemars, David.... My initial comment was over one year ago. Since then i have been no contact with my Ex Cluster B HPD. Last week she actually tracked me down and wanted to get together for coffee so she could explain what has happened and what is happening in her life. I thought about it and took the time off work to meet with her but before i got to the coffee house, those old feelings of dread and despair started to flood my mind and that knot in my stomach was starting to re-appear. I turned around and speed back home and have ignored her calls for the last week. Even after 1 1/2 years of no contact I still can recall the Good Times but I can also Vividly remember the Really Shitty times. Thank You for everything you do for us and Keep the Great Videos coming. They really Help
What are the percentages for histrionic pd in society? I guess it must be a lot less common than BPD/NPD you dont come across many people speaking about this disorder. Really informative video as usual. In their defense though panic attacks when they first strike can feel like a heart attack, of course once you realise what it is there's no excuse for bothering emergency services
I guess it's more difficult to point out that someone is histrionic because this behaviour is becoming normalized on our society. Just look at people's instagram and you will see, lots of overly sexual selfies, women's instagram with thousands of male followers all posting thirsty comment on these women's pics. I think if you are a young woman and you are a little bit above average in terms of looks it's too rewarding if you have a histrionic behaviour on social media, you will always get the attention you want.
THIS defines the woman that is on a smear campaign against us, my husband's ex-fling. OMG, she's over-the-top with this stuff, the drama, the smear campaigns, the stalking, it goes on and on!
David you cracked me up with the "me too, me too" thing and you nailed it! my ex always said that. once I showed her my garage and I said I did the drywall myself and she went at it again: 'me too me too' I did drywall haha. well this relationship did not end well and she discarded me like I'm a piece of garbage... like I meant nothing to her lol (I dont care anymore) And you explained this discard in another video i've watched and you nailed it again, awesome thank you so much! also I would your opinion about a statement I heard that actually all histrionic are women I heard you said 4x times but have you diagnosed a man before?
It's a nuanced distinction I think, my take, knowing one histrionic woman and a borderline woman is the borderline is more convincing. The histrionic's fakery and shallowness is all too apparent. As well as their lies...
I unfortunately had a relation with a pwBPD who collects BPD, NPD, Histrionic and Antisocial behaviour. She needs to be in the center of attention, in a Sauna, provocating every men, or middle of a class Room when she was doing additional training. She succeeded to be fired by the training organisation because her behaviour up set the other students. The situation in the sauna concluded to get closed to someone else and destroying the relation.
I wonder if this is a stalker thing about you were saying at the end with more intimate than they actually are. I had a stalker that acted like that. He messaged me with no reply for 4 years. Would drive past my house from over an hour drive away. It was truly horrible.
Hi David - can you explain what the distinct difference(s) is/are between Borderline and Histrionic please? The traits are so similar. Thanks. :) Jack (England, UK)
all these personality disorders seem to be immediately cured when a person has low cortisol and high oxytocin how come we just deal with all these monsters and no one just sells oxytocin aspirators?
My dad is an NPD and his girlfriend is histrionic to the Dx. I noticed recently that she seems to be deflating as anyone involved relationally with a narc will be. Do these relationships tend to last? I can't see her maintaining her needs connected to bhim, but I have never seen him work so hard to create an image to keep her around. BTW, this video is a very good descriptor of the topic. Clear consise.
To be fair, for some without any personality disorder who suffer real anxiety call ambulance because the symptoms are so extreme. Anxiety can affect the sufferer in real, biological ways.
I'm a guy and have Histrionic. Haven't really done any 'university of TH-cam' research till this video. All I can say is I'm constantly calling myself out when I do or say something for needy reasons, it's quite pathetic and insecure,. also, the insecurity is bone crushing and a core negative trait. Probably stems from unsuccessfully trying to get my Nmoms attention to no avail. If you're dealing with someone like this, I'd say call them out but first, ask if they are 'open for critical feedback/criticism' and whatever you say with be absorbed a lot more efficaciously. Usually, we are very sensitive to peoples body language as we need to read them to see if we have gotten their attention/validation.
I have a question for you! How do I go about finding a therapist that actually has a clue when it comes to the different diagnosis? I just came out of an emotionally abusive confusing relationship. I believe I had was dealing with a sociopath. Therapists don't seem to have a clue I'm disgusted! How do I find someone who does?
Laurie Worship Hello Laurie. You need someone familiar with childhood attachment trauma. I help my clients with this everyday. You should ask questions. Learn about CPTSD on your own and then make sure your therapists knows what they're talking about.
Fire Ant My life really couldnt be better, i am a much better person than I ever have been and yes, I am with someone very special. Thank you so much for asking and I wish you success in your life as well!
Very informal, TY. Only 1 issue: I know some1 that comes across this way mildly, but when drinking, esp drunk, it shows, but more verbally than action, unless they're wasted. They also come across as possibly mild BPD as well. The thing is this person is a sub-alcoholic type as2 where they rely on alcohol 2feel better, have fun, relax, get numb, knock themselves 2sleep... Emotionally & mentally addicted, but not physically dependent on it. They've done the hair of the dog only but so many Xs. They started drinking at age 15 or 16. They were also abused in their childhood & teens, running2 alcohol 4a "good time" & 2 "feel better". However, they also have more narcissistic traits, then, BPD, & maybe histrionic. Dilemma? They're u diagnosed but r definitely category B & C. They refuse 2be diagnosed. How can 1 tell w/o them getting an actual diagnoses? I ask bc this is the greatest issue that's wrecked my BFFs life. Thx.
I did 4get 2mention, there's also an unknown cluster. My BFF taught me about this & believes the person who emotionally drained her is a possible mix of BPD, cluster B, & *Haltose* , unknown cluster. She doesn't believe I'm a full BPD diagnosed person as I don't turn 2drugs or alcohol. I'm also asexual as2 where I don't act upon such things but only fantasize or dream of attractive folk. It's part y I quit dating almost a decade ago... But I also battle generalized anxiety (GAD), PTSD, & major depression (MDD). MDD alone had led me bedridden several Xs. Dreadful. She's no Dr to, but she's an avid reader, researcher, studier, & when get several professional opinions rather than just assume any1 have whatever issue, disorder, or illness. Just curious what u think since u also study a lot on psych, at least cluster B? Thx.
My x diagnosed hpd , aspd and npd . What a shit show . So glad I’m away from that . 16 years spinning my wheels . Very sad and pathetic emotionally arrested two year old .
Why do I seem to attract these type of personalities? (Naivete combined with over-developed sense of compassion?) Now that I know what this looks like, how do I head for the hills early on?
I am glad that there is channel that discusses Histrionic personality disorder in depth and compares it with other cluster B personality disorders. I've dated someone with HPD and this is definitely helpful.
This is why I take care of my son, work, go home and dead bolt the door.
Nikki Lea Good Mom!!
Trim Hits moron
You're beautiful, too. How's kiddo doing?
? That sounds like a horrible life.
Me too !!! Lol
I am dying of laughter, this is spot on!! They are frantic and scatty, always have to be the “life of the party” and centre of attention (and your delivery was hilarious!) 😂😭
Kayla-Marie Thank you Kayla-Marie!

Obviously, we’ll talk about it here, where it’s the subject. My original comment was in reference to a regular social setting
Yes!
Sounds like my BPD GF. Turns out she was the abuser
Yessss, 'the one upper'! They can never let you stand in your own light. They always have to devalue you in order to draw more attention to themselves.
Catherine Leclair Yes, they will attack a member of a social group to become a member themselves!
i am borderline, and almost fell in love with a histrionic... i thought she was perfect at first... glad I waited as long as I did, her personality came out heavily.
Jay Gee it always does, that why histrionic intimate relationships are always set to fast foward
Which is why they force everyone to move very quickly in all relationships.
This basically describes 90% of women on social media.
Agreed
Yes they are on Facebook and the other social media and they usually have came to me and said that they could help me. After three times I noticed a pattern and they were all narcatisst. Ha, you're not wrong....
I had a (now ex) best friend with HPD, a total nightmare, drove me crazy. I went NO CONTACT with her to save my sanity... It took me a couple of years to get over my anger and frustration. They are bad news.
I understand you!

Isabel Izzy I feel your pain. Mine was the best friend /person and then my worst enemy.
Nikki Lea I am sorry. Hang in there it will get better. Do not break the no contact.
Isabel Izzy You can't do it again!

Here's my honest reactions to the aspects of this disorder that I supposively have:
I BELIVE (AND SO DO MY CLOSE FRIENDS) THAT I AM MISDIAGNOSED.
feel the need to be in a close confined area in a large group, I am overtly sexual, I don't draw people to my body, I do not have a filter, I would not have sex with my boss, I am very emotional and care about other people's feelings, I take pride in my appearance, but do not dress like a whore or inappropriately for social situations, I do not try to "one up", I cry at commercials; I do use hand gestures, I am gullible, I do have a problem with "my filter" because I usually trust people, I only have a small group of close friends & relationships. #praiseme
#fuckoff
Natasha Moore Thank you Natasha and I will make sure to specify abusers only.
Stacey Love Hi
I’m sure I’m time we both will heal, it’s been 7 months with no contact from her at all it’s like the 4 years we spent together and living together means fuck all too her oh and we was engaged,. for me it is getting easier But She’s still the person I think of when I wake up, and through out the day she is slowly fading I kinda don’t want to let go, I know I have too
Luke Stockbridge it will take time, but you can do it.
Luke Stockbridge This is very prevalent in the church!
"they discard so quickly" -- Exactly.
"No filter. They don't know what they're putting out there." -- Spot on, especially in social media.
YES!
Uff run to the hills away from these people. Run like Forrest Gump😂😂😂😬
Isabel Izzy Run Isabel, run!
i have hpd and it is a terrible painful desease with which i am cursed to live. i take meds, i go to therapy, i read self-development books, religion book, everything i can to limit the pain.
(they were fine, 36C)."
I think that histrionics are basically borderlines who are particularly good looking, with good bodies and seduction skills. They have gone through life using their sexuality and looks--exclusively--to get what they want. Thus, histrionics don't fear abandonment as much as borderlines do because it is so easy for the histrionic to line up new supply.
Thor aha! So that is the main difference then!
"histrionics are basically borderlines who are particularly good looking" -- That could very well be, especially in social media.
I disagree. Too surface-level. That description could be either - it’s just dependent on the personality.
Exactly! I know exactly that situation. And being now in a CPTSD. It's a shame to have landed in this mine field.
I've been searching for your channel. Yay, I finally found it again.
Thank you.
Yes this book is amazing!!!
@@swwagner1 Thank you!
This video is spot on thanks Coach DeMars
David you made me so laugh when you tried to talk like a girl. Great video. Great info and I needed the witty humor mixed in with the education. Thank you so very much.
Damn, You are just SO good. I am going to listen more and probably subscribe. Didn't expect that
This is SO TT, MsMoonBear Please post this and tag who needs to be tagged. TT followers NEED to hear this!!
Good example of HPD,NPD and codependency in movie "A streetcar named desire(1951)"
My mother is a somatic historionic covert narcissist personality disorder this is hell for the children they have horrible
The identifying difference with the histrionic is the overly sexual behavior and sex with numerous men
Your correct about the cluster b advice you need to be aware of all four as the affected individuals do and will flout though all of them.
I am a psychology student and thank you for explaining that so well.
Good point that histrionic personality disorder and borderline personality disorder are hard to distinguish from each other and do overlap.
My god, sounds like my x best friend. Makes so much sense now!!
They "project" their own behaviors on to others. Great vids. I get to Vegas once or twice a year. I am pretty much healed these days (doing very well); but it would be good to talk through some things when I get out there.
Love the blue lillies
Enchancted Mirror Tarot agreed! :)
It is better to know the devil you have to deal with if you can not go no contact. Thumbs up!!!
I was embarrassed by my ex narc histrionics. She didn't realize everyone was laughing at her. What a joke.
James Winkels It's sad really, no introspection.
God bless
(Hormone imbalance in women can make it worse too btw)
And I have had issues with suicide attempts but Im a highly sensitive person and I love deeply......ive never tried to destroy anyone's life. Im usually the one who gets victimized
Pray for borderline women instead of running them down!!
Gracias D! Helpful & funny! Thanks for helping us learn & laugh a little at the same time :)

You are SO good.
Fantasic video, David...thank you !
She took him to the cleaners when they separated and got a lot out of him... then keeps coming back for more, creates new things she believes he still "owes" her, yet he can't see their child... when she goes quiet we get scared because it means she's up to something! lol 😂
everything is about how great you are as soon as you tell them about you he changes back to him
Good video as always ... you are so funny when you imitate these people .. I always LOL .. thank you
I had to be misdiagnosed a couple years ago. This was even more of a clarification. Strange as even my husband disagreed with the diagnosis.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for making them.
Glacier Blue Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video. Im pretty sure shes histrionic. Before I knew as much I just assumed narcissist, but histrionic is basically 100% spot on. It could possibly be BPD or other issues, but at least I’ve narrowed it down.
My mother was calling the the ambulance everyday for anxiety attacks
I guess it's safe to say that my ex is all the above. Just a hot mess of every personality. And he is someone else's problem now lol.
Great video, David. lol @hangnail. And yes, this seems so connected to BPD, and definitely reminds me of the female person I’ve talked about.
I dated a histrionic in my 20's drop dead gorgeous and bat shit crazy. She cheated on me constantly and I dumped her at 6 months. She was devastated.
Histrionics are very ( painfully) abusive. If you do not have to deal with them, please do not.
Protect children.
I could post 2 whole pages just on this particular video.

Great video David!
7:40 "Big...big hat!" LOL. I know these people can be hilarious! but so damn draining to be around all the time.
AMAZING INFORMATION!
@@zebrastripes3786 Perfectly explained. Thank u

David...question. A person who has more that 2000 people in FB. Is that a sign of narcissism? Supply?
John Hooper Bingo!! That is how I realized my ex was bordeline not a narcissist. Even thought they are so much alike like David says. Thank you
Roxy Bolt I have always ask my self...how come some people have so many friends in FB? 1000, 2000, 3000 lol weirdos😂😂
Isabel Izzy That is a major desperate need for attention that is very unhealthy.
I don't judge but trust ur gut instinct about the person or just ask them
IMO, it’s the people with 2000+ selfies that are more telling than the friends. But I may be wrong because I haven’t thought of that
Imho, “cluster B” & enough said! Thx for your videos!
Good video, worth rewatching.
This described me perfectly.
All the roles Jim Carrey played were histrionic 😅
It's a nuanced distinction I think, my take, knowing one histrionic woman and a borderline woman is the borderline is more convincing. The histrionic's fakery and shallowness is all too apparent. As well as their lies...
you are so spot on
I unfortunately had a relation with a pwBPD who collects BPD, NPD, Histrionic and Antisocial behaviour. She needs to be in the center of attention, in a Sauna, provocating every men, or middle of a class Room when she was doing additional training. She succeeded to be fired by the training organisation because her behaviour up set the other students. The situation in the sauna concluded to get closed to someone else and destroying the relation.
Good image quality!
I wonder if this is a stalker thing about you were saying at the end with more intimate than they actually are.
I had a stalker that acted like that. He messaged me with no reply for 4 years. Would drive past my house from over an hour drive away. It was truly horrible.
Yona Curtis Sounds histrionic/borderline.
Thank you for this informative video
Great assessment.

@@heatherlynn2695 That only places attention on biological aspects when the root problem is psychological.
Good vid, good detail. I find a lot less detailed info about HPD compared to BPD and NPD. Thanks!
I'm diagnosed with histrionic. It's fun 😝
Very funny you're the man bro lol
My dad is an NPD and his girlfriend is histrionic to the Dx. I noticed recently that she seems to be deflating as anyone involved relationally with a narc will be. Do these relationships tend to last? I can't see her maintaining her needs connected to bhim, but I have never seen him work so hard to create an image to keep her around.
BTW, this video is a very good descriptor of the topic. Clear consise.
My Counselor called my Ex a Hedonistic Narsaistic Sociopath.

To be fair, for some without any personality disorder who suffer real anxiety call ambulance because the symptoms are so extreme. Anxiety can affect the sufferer in real, biological ways.
Right on the mark!

Would like a compare/contrast narcissistic with histrionic besides the “sexy” trait.
Very informal, TY. Only 1 issue:
I know some1 that comes across this way mildly, but when drinking, esp drunk, it shows, but more verbally than action, unless they're wasted.
Thx.
Christine from the Oppenheimer Group
Thx.
