    I’ve had one on my Audi s3 for around 4 years now and kind of know what it’s capable of doing. It easily gaps any stock s3 and golf r, keeps up with an m140, stay quite close to an rs3 at first but then rs3 starts slowly gapping more as it carries on. Even whilst driving, can notice the difference. I wouldn’t say it’s good enough as a proper stage 1 tune, but it does increase performance. Also when it comes time to sell the car, the car will sell as completely stock 😅

    doesn't seem to do much. 1 seconds faster from 100 to 200 is barely noticable, its just 10% less time. and you probably lose your warranty too, doesn't seem worth it to me

      Exactly! That time difference is negligible.

      From what I was told by my tech, a piggyback tune won't void the warranty so long as you remove it before you take it in to BMW. The datalog will show increased boost, but they can't prove where it came from. Personally, I noticed a big difference in power with the Racechip. Now running BM3, which will absolutely void the warranty (if you still have one (I don't)).

      It probably won't void warranty but it's definitely not worth the money Race Chip is charging u for. Especially for something that tricks the ECU...
      I would rather pay double the money for a custom tune and a gearbox remap knowing the engine is properly tuned for my vehicle where all the parameters are read out.
      The positive side of a piggyback is that it's simple and easy to get. Instead of having to travel half the country where u live.

Dont get me wrong i dont hate teslas but i would never trade my e92 m3 for an electric car even if its much slower in straight line. Im smiling all the way no matter what speed it is while im cruising with m3, i test drove tesla model S and i was smiling only when hitting the pedal to the floor. • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're seriously comparing a tuned M140i which cost about £20k (and isn't even an M car, just a cheap ass hot hatch, with RWD), to a Tesla model 3 performance which is the fastest version of the model 3, and costs £60k+ and is AWD ??? PMSL ...
      My M140i just has a sports cat, and runs a dyno proven 455bhp/634nm, and yes something like a model 3 performance drops me from a standing start, but so does an RS3 audi, or A45S mercedes, or indeed any AWD car with 300+ bhp. And that is completely normal.
      On a rolling race it's a different story, I destroy all Tesla's, standard RS3's, A45S's, and base model 911's, Lotus emira, RR SVR, and the other day I scalped an aston DB9.
      All of those cars cost 2 or 3 times mine at least.
      And, if I wanted to go further, fitting upgraded HPFP, Turbo, cooling upgrades, injectors, I could see 650+bhp on an unopened engine. Forged pistons etc have seen a proven 920+bhp from some cars.
      So, for a 20 grand hatch with a sports cat, I think the M140i is a giant killer. Faster on a roll than any Tesla (I have raced dozens of them, and never lost a race), yet costing only 1/3rd of the price, sounds incredible (but anything sounds better than the milk float Tesla), and doesn't need charging every 20 mins if I'm ragging the arse off it.
      Loser.

  • @DMCarReviews
    @DMCarReviews ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Barely any difference. 1.5 seconds on the 100-200 is a matter of reaction times in a roll race, and fairly negligible in real life. Half a second can literally be a difference in the road slope or wind direction.

    • @AutoTopnl
      @AutoTopnl  ปีที่แล้ว +17

      1.5s is a massive difference. a car that does 5.0s to 100 is in a different world compared to one that does 6.5s We can't call that reaction time differences.

    • @DMCarReviews
      @DMCarReviews ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AutoTopnl Wrong comparison. A difference of 1.5s on 0-100 kmh of these cars is a Percentage Difference of ≈ 26.09%. Using your numbers, for the 100-200 kmh, it is a ≈ 13.57% difference. If we also take a half second error margin, since slopes can differ and wind, that effectively makes for a 1 second difference of ≈ 8.85%. That is why I said, it makes no difference in real life. P.S - Even a 5.0s car vs a 6.5s car, in a street light race, the other car won't be far back :)

    • @Andy090216
      @Andy090216 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DMCarReviewswell yeah, thats the problem, the realistic on street conditions. Many cars can keep up even though based on purely acceleration times they should not be able to. Have an LCI 340 and even GTI golfs or i30Ns can keep up with you since you cant really go faster than 120 or 150 kmh most of the times and you are not driving in sport plus or "correct gear" all the time. And you almost never get to race/drag cars from true standstill since people actualy care about their transmission... I also own 30d and for some weird reason it seems more nimble in real world conditions for city driving.

    • @DMCarReviews
      @DMCarReviews ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Andy090216 If they are flooring it first, you can have a car that is 3 seconds faster, and it will take you a while to match their speed, let alone pass. The M340i is a really fast car, but regardless how fast you are, if someone is using momentum to gain on you, you will need time to outpace them, by the point that you will already be going 160+ kmh due to how fast the car is.

    • @Andy090216
