    LYRICS
I am your nightmares, true scares
That dream when you can't stop from falling
    Can't fight, can't run
Can't stop the person you've become
    I am your heartbreaks, mistakes
    That place inside your hate
I am that shadow following every move, reminding you
That it's never good enough, never good enough
Even though you'll try and try
    I'm gonna call your bluff
Because I am the thing bringing the feelings when...
Your world comes crashing around you
    Smashes down around you
When will you see that you cannot hide from me?
    When you feel darkness, hopeless
Can't cope with all the stress
I'll make you hate life bring strife
    Remember failures hardened stare
And it's never gonna change, never gonna change
    Always they'll be judging you
    Compared to who and who
You trust in me but I only live to see
Your world come crashing around you
    Smash down around you
When will you see that you cannot hide from me?
    When I come for you
    When I see through you
    When I eat through you
    When I destroy you
    You'll think you're betrayed, astray
I'll leave you ripped and torn so bad you
    Can't trust, can't love
Can't understand why life's so fucked
    I'm deep inside your mind
    In constant remind
If you leave your thoughts to me, believe
I'll make sure that I see
Your world come crashing around you
    Smash down around you
When will you see that you cannot hide from me?
I'll make your world come crashing around you
    Smash down around you
I'll let you see why cannot hide from me
    Because I am you

@@Screwston-ci7fc to me it’s not a bad thing. It’s just that both records have completely unique sound and themes, it sounds like it could be two separate bands. But I love all of their music, supercharger has a lot of really catchy hooks that I love singing along to, and burn my eyes is a great headbanger to go nuts with. It’s nice to have different styles for different moods. I’m happy they didn’t release another BME type record, it makes BME special for what it is

Been a fan since 94' and I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed with the mighty MH. The Supercharger album is solid, some great tracks like 'Only the names' 'Trephination, Bulldozer, Deafening silence, Kick you when you're down and this song. Yes it's different to the first couple, but so what? It still rocks and every MH album is different, that's a good thing IMO.

AlphaPhatFilms Nu metal didn't save metal. Metal was doing just fine. The european metal scene was flourishing with notable scenes like norwegian black metal, swedish death metal, folk metal. Other than that there was power metal, death metal and everything in-between. In the US there was the death metal scene, with New York death metal and the florida death metal scene. In Brazil Sepultura was mixing metal with indigenous tribal elements. Meanwhile Japan was doing it's own thing with bands like Sigh and Dir En Grey and in China there was Tang Dynasty.
I will agree that when it came to the mainstream, the only thing metal had going for it was nu metal so in that sense you are correct.
And no, I don't hate Nu metal. Alot of bands were changing thier style during this period. Bands like Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax were all experimenting with new things. I don't mind if a band wants to try new things, as long as they stand by it.

Lasse Rasmussen In order for a form of music to thrive, and expand, it needs exposure. It grows and becomes more powerful with each person who discovers it, and supports it. There were many respectable movements in the 1990s Metal scene, however a substantial number of them went unnoticed, because of the fact that music overall was changing, and becoming something new, and Heavy Metal was still kind of dwindling between the past and being lost. I realize that Metal has always had a fairly large following, however, that following was decreasing in numbers. And if change was never implemented, then it could have descended even lower. You mentioned something about Sepultura. Well, ironically enough they're actually popularly cited as Korn's primary influence. In a sense, Sepultura is actually a pioneer of Nu Metal. So technically, they were apart of that scene. The scene and sub-genre itself elevated the genre to heights that could have never been imagined. It assisted Metal in such a way, that millions upon millions of new fans were showing support. It pumped Metal up with adrenaline again. Hate it or not, Nu Metal helped Metal.

    • @lasserasmussen5208
      @lasserasmussen5208 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Exposure is not always a good thing, because it leaves the door open for people who don't really care about the culture, the music or the history of metal. However I agree that in order for something to thrive, it needs to avoid stagnation and as long as there's heart behind what an artist is doing, then I will support that.
I used to hate nu metal, but not anymore. I acknowledge nu metal and it's place in metal history and yes, it did help metal in it's own way. However it did not save metal, because metal did not need saving. It might have needed a little help, particularly in the mainstream department, but it did not need saving. Metal will always be here to a certain extent.
There's nothing ironic about my Sepultura statement. I know that they helped pioneer nu metal. That's what I meant when I mentioned that they started mixing metal with other genres, in this case tribal elements. However before that, they we're a death/thrash metal band and even though they had already started experimenting with their sound on Chaos A.D., Roots was when things got really interesting.
That's the thing though. All those scenes I mentioned did have innovation. That was the point of my original argument. The metal scene was still moving forwards. There were some genres that pretty much died out, like thrash metal, but there was still new blood coming in. It seems like you're suggesting that there was no innovation going on and that's just not true.

    100% correct lyrics:
    "Crashing around you"
I am your nightmares, true scares
That dream when you can’t stop from falling
    Can’t fight, can’t run,
Can’t stop the person you’ve become
    I am your heartbreaks, mistakes
    That place inside you hate
I am that shadow following every move, reminding you
That it’s never good enough, never good enough
Even though you’ll try and try, I’m gonna call your bluff
Because I am the thing bringing the feelings when…
Your world comes crashing around you,
    Smash down around you, yeah-yeah
When will you see that you cannot hide from me?
    When you feel darkness, hopeless
Can’t cope with all the stress
I’ll make you hate life, bring strife
    Remember failures hardened stare
And it’s never gonna change, never gonna change
    Always they’ll be judging you
    Compared to who and who
You trust in me but I only live to see
Your world come crashing around you
    Smash down around you, yeah-yeah
When will you see that you cannot hide from me?
    When I come for you
    When I see through you
    When I eat through you
    When I destroy you
    You’ll think you’re betrayed, astray
I’ll leave you ripped and torn so bad
    You can’t trust, can’t love
Can’t understand why life’s so fucked
    I’m deep inside your mind
    In constant remind
If you leave your thoughts to me, believe
I’ll make sure that I see
Your world come crashing around you
    Smash down around you, yeah-yeah
When will you see why you cannot hide from me?
I, I, I’ll make your, your world come crashing around you
    Smash down around you, yeah-yeah
I’ll let you see why you cannot hide from me
    ‘Cause I am you

Deidara Edo Tensei and I think, A Newer Machine Head album should feature some tracks, like this one and from this day with a mix and some elements of thrash metal & groove metal, as well. Sounds Genius? I think, so because it mixes the nu metal with the thrash and groove metal sound mixed into 1 sound that all machine head fans can cheer and headbang to.

  • @Chaseman1981
    @Chaseman1981 8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

I'll admit that this is my least favorite Machine Head album mainly because the whole album is Nu Metal, not saying that's a bad thing, but it's not something I want to hear from a band like Machine Head, and even if The Burning Red had some Nu Metal songs, it was still an awesome album. If anything, I would consider The Burning Red an experimental album.
On a side note, I get sick of people saying what's "Real" metal and what's not, I'm just a fan of music, if I like what I hear, I don't care what anyone says. Sure I'll admit that there were some Nu Metal bands that were mediocre(Flaw,Taproot,No One,etc.), some that started off decent but then started to suck(Limp Bizkit, Coal Chamber, Papa Roach, Mudvayne, Linkin Park) and there are some that are still awesome and are actually some of my favorite bands(Slipknot, KoRn, Deftones, Disturbed).
