Tyne Railway Yard and ECML (Newcastle) on 20th May 1992
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of a return visit to Tyne railway yard taken on my journey south on 20/05/1992. In clear weather this time the area is all visible and also on a hot spring day , (one of the local drivers sporting the newly issued railway shorts) looking quite cool. Plenty of trains arriving and going with class 56s and the occassional class 31s on more local trip workings. While on the nearby ECML the 91s and DVTs whizz silently by on their race North and South. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Well that was certainly a ‘blast from the past’. Some great liveries on show. Thks for sharing.
You're most welcome and best regards....Mark
A bit of background about the movements.
Sadly I was Rest Day off that day. Was on nights anyway. 37104 was allocated to trip work. P41 trip as I had it 3 nights. 31544 on another trip, by the looks of it the Gateshead wagon repair shop trip that took wagons for maintenance to the old TMD which was kept open for wagon repair work.
The pair of 37/7s are on the afternoon Stanlow to Jarrow tanks. A right pain as you had to split the locos before you could shunt the train. It was booked for a 47 and later a single 37/7 it switched to a class 60 and via Carlisle in Transrail days.
47229 is on the Tees Yard Montrose RfD working with the Lime from Thrislington.
Many thanks for the valuable historic info...so good to be able to put info to the workings seen.....much appreciated and best wishes to you......Mark

I spent the early 90s at Newcastle Uni, Weds afternoon was on the station but had regular trips to Tyne Yard. I lived near Heaton for a year which was good for RES 47s at weekends.
Fab times, thanks for sharing
You are very welcome and many thanks for watching...Mark
Oh yes. Memories. Youd wait two weeks to see that much movement on Tyne Yard these days. However whilst out n about today, I saw 60021 on the Tyne Dock to Lynemouth Biomass Turn, passing the site where Gateshead shed used to be, quite ironic you should post this video on the same day. Thank you for sharing young sir.
You're most welcome and many thanks...Mark
