    Sorry to add multiple comments - I really like how the yarn in the background echoes the same colour palette you've been using the last couple of years. So sophisticated how you've got a cohesive colour scheme throughout 😊

      Sophisticated or.. happy accident 😉 I love green and rust colours.. and apparently blue but I'm still confused about the blue... I don't know why but I feel uncomfortable liking it haha 😂

    This was sooo fun to watch! I’m ill on the sofa and it was the cosy hour and a bits entertainment I needed. So many gorgeous vintage makes 😍 You inspire me to knit more vintage!

      Thank you :) Aww sorry to hear you're unwell. I'm glad I could distract you from it's miseries for a little while :) I highly encourage you to knit more vintage ;)

    I adore all your knits! If I ever dare I will try to knit a vintage jumper. Goals!

    Oooh, my knitting is on TH-cam! It warms my heart to see the mitts in such good hands (literally)! Got a big smile on my face now 😊
    All your makes are so beautiful. Your vintage knitting progress is really impressive!
    Haha, and a minus in the stash is still a minus, right? My own balance was similar, I think I managed to get 1100m more out than in (knitted 17km and a bit, but somehow it was much faster to buy about 16km of it), which would translate to between 4 and 6 50g-balls of fingering weight yarn. *shakes fists at the heavens for not stopping me when I bought all that yarn
    Our stashes are at a similar size, I think 😅
    Looking forward to seeing many more of your beautiful projects! Your unique style and your sense of humour make for lots of very inspiring and enjoyable knitting TV!

      Haha not as big of a smile as I had after discovering them :)
      Thank you :) I am hoping that by the end of the year I'll actually have figured out how to knit my vintage knits with my sport weight yarn so that I don't always have some issue somewhere haha
      Oh it's definitely easier to buy the kilometers in, that's for sure..! Why is it so hard to actually use the glorious yarn that we already have though? Why do other projects with different yarn seem more alluring? ha
      Thank you for watching and always cheering me on :)

    I think my favorite is the last jumper you made ,it's stunning. The dark green is lovely. The sleeve length looks wonderful on it. I also like the solid sleeves on the Chevron jumper. I have quite a few of the same patterns on my list that you made this year like the bunny ear jumper. I think I'm going to use the same colorway as the one from Home fires. Navy blue, pink and powder blue. I think it was Claire the Dr's wife that wore it. Can't wait to see what your knitting next.

    • @emilykatemadethis
      @emilykatemadethis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 😊 yes I'm actually glad the sleeves went wrong because the length I'd definitely better longer ☺️
      I forgot I changed the chevron sleeves to one colour..! I also like them... Obviously green jumpers are my favourite 😂
      I was just looking at pictures of Home fires knitwear and I'd also like to knit the bunny ears again in different colours 🤭 you think you've ticked one off the list but then.. there are always more colours to make them in haha
      I'd love to see yours if and when you make it ☺️

    If you want to steek your chevron top, steek the sides and shape the armscye with your steek. OR forget sleeve shaping and steek it and turn it into a drop shoulder. It would work absolutely fine 😃👍👍

    Hello Emily i laughed so hard at your yarn tally at the end of the year. I can relate 😅. Could you turn the 2nd vintage jumper into a skirt? Instead of wripping back ❤

    • @emilykatemadethis
      @emilykatemadethis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yes... I did very well going down by 50g didn't I? ;)
      I love this idea! I will absolutely try this out. Thank you! I don't know why I didn't think about that, after I turned the last failed jumper into a skirt haha

    The vintage cardigan is so cute! I am sorry you are not happy with the yarn and fit.

      I am thinking about making another one in a cotton/wool blend. Then I can do the sleeves correctly and make it a temperature-appropriate jumper ;) I also have more experience knitting vintage so maybe it'll go smoother this time ha

      Haha well maybe that's the best place for it..it is Lithuanian wool afterall 😉
      I just went for a walk this evening and it was "real feel" -12.. maybe tomorrow I'll try wearing it and see if I'm any warmer 😆

      Wow that's very good going 👏👏 and that's a lot of donations.. wow!
      Lots of space there for more 😉 but maybe you can fill the gap with those lovely knitting books you received at Xmas... Pretend there's no space for new yarn 😉

    Happy New Year Emily! I only reduced my stash by 2.2%. Not bad I guess considering I bought 3 sweater's worth of yarn in the last quarter 🤣 You knit a ton in 2023, fun podcast! ❤

    What if you knitted a collar up on that burgundy sweater that needed the short extra short Rose just knit a collar

      This jumper is now mine as it doesn't fit my husband, even after the attempts at adding short rows.... one day I might frog it and make it a better fit for me, but at the moment, it's my oversized comfy knit :)

    Hi Emily Kate, I just am dealing with the same problem of wanting to rip out the neck ribbing on a top down jumper. I've found this video quite helpful: th-cam.com/video/1zBL-1iPUgQ/w-d-xo.html You need to put your needles in a few rows below what you need to rip out, and just cut the thread, as explained in the video, so you can undo to the cast on edge. Hope this helps!
    Good luck! Ines
