You can still shorten the sleeves on the Marigold tee. Its actually quite easy to do it now after you have completed it because you know exactly how much shorter you need to make them. "Sew" in a lifeline then cut the yarn and remove the extra length (you wont be able to rip because one sleeve was knit in the opposite direction), then pick up the stitches and knit a ribbing and bind off.
GM Amanda I’m cracking up right now with your dog That’s what I say to my dog trying to finish a row “Just a minute honey”lol That is a beautiful drape ❤ It looks gorgeous on you Congrats on your work on it I loved this video Amanda !!! Thank you 🥰😊
New to your channel but have heard of Birch and Lily many times so I tuned in. Really nice podcast and I love the sweaters you posted about. They were all new to me patterns for the most part which I appreciated. Too many sweater patterns get all the love and I get tired of seeing the same things over and over. Anyway...I look forward to seeing upcoming podcasts.
27 garments, i am so glad your proud of yourself, you should be. How did i not see your channel before now? I definitely found some new patterns im gonna knit this year. Thank you, see you Tuesday
I am impressed with all of the sweaters. I added several to my favorites then I decided to just friend you on Ravelry. I hope you don’t mind. I want to knit more sweaters. I am so slow at it. You have really inspired me and I am already thinking about my next sweater knit.
GM Amanda The sweater you gave on is gorgeous and looks lovely on you I hear you about the dog sweater … I made one for my Keisha and she hates it But if cold out on our daily car ride I make her wear it She is a very hot dog as my vet called her Her hair is so thick with some curl and I got her in Edmonton when we lived in Strathmore AB All your sweaters are beautiful Happy you showed all your knits for 2023 and my thanks You are a knitting machine girl 😊 Love you pods 😊💝🥰
@@birchandlily lol they have their own personalities 😄mine has growled at me saying back off but she wants to go for her daily ride so she finally say put on darn it lol Keep warm snow and cold out there fir you It snowing lightly here in Kingsville On Not going anywheres today so I’m enjoying the sight 😊🥰
It was a nice trip down memory lane. Love seeing all your garments from 2023. I'm such a slow knitter, but I knit for relaxation. I could never knit test knits. Your sweaters are all so lovely!!❤❤ can't wait to see what gets completed in 2024!!
Wow! All of your sweaters are beautiful. Thank you for putting in the time to do the timestamps and links that is super helpful! My absolute favorites are the Maybury Cardigan and Sibling Sweater! I love how daybreak and nutcracker look together. I agree about the EKF Rockies DK. I also find it very difficult to use in projects with it being in-between a DK and Sport, I always really struggle to get gauge.
Maybe your dog doesn’t like acrylic either, lol. You are so fast, it’s crazy. Beautiful work. Fabulous camera for closeup shots. What is it, please? You know I’ll check you down-bar you are very good with leaving links etc. So if it’s not there please do tell. ❤😊
Great work with a new camera ! What kind is it ? My favorite sweater is Downtown Hoodie - I love your color choice ! Cute dog :) Warp and Weft Raglan is such interesting knit , great colors again.
I have a Warp and Weft and a Mayberry on top of my cue to cast on very soon! Also have yarn for the Alder and Leith in stash! Can't wait! Your versions are stunning 😍
Hi Amanda first time watching, and wow you were busy last year I wrote down so many of the patterns hope to make some. I do understand about weights of yarns I bought what I thought was a sport but it measures out to be a fingering but is listed as dk how can that be. As a yarn dyer that you are and sell yarn can you give me any ideas I n hiw to choose the right weight it gets expensive luckily I only bought one ball. Thank you enjoyed your video I will be watching your podcast. 😊
Pick something that has a similar yardage per 100g to what the pattern calls for! Thats the most accurate way, unfortunately base names have such a broad range. One brands fingering weight could be another’s DK 🤦♀️
Don’t let Stripes put you off yoked sweaters. It’s a poorly shaped design. I would suggest Jennifer Steingas for a good circular yoke. Your knits are lovely!
I am cautious about swesters There are some yarns which can be so uncomfortable I love seeing them on other people I have had better results with cardigans😊
Nope, all hand knit! I do work from home which helps a lot. Plus I;ve just figured out how to carry my knitting everywhere with me so I can get in a stich or two whenever I have a moment lol.

The Stronger Than The Storm socks literally made me gasp. Gorgeous, and that colour combo…!
Awe thanks!
That is a lot of knitting! Also a lot of test knits!
Love all the sweaters! A fisherman’s ribbed sweater is my dream sweater. After I knit through my sweater quantities, I’m going for it!
It’s soooo worth all the work!
Just discovered your channel 😊

Yes I agree, it definitely makes for some issues. I’ll have to pay more attention best time I use it haha

It’s a Sony ZV-1! I was able to grab a refurbished one for $200 off. So happy with it!

Your new camera set-up looks fantastic! I would love to knit the Downtown Hoodie from Tori Yu. Yours looks so good on you!!
Thank you! You should totally knit it!
Happy New Year! Super impressed by the number of garments you made… i added a few of them to my 2024 to knit list!
Happy knitting! Hope you enjoy the ones you chose!

Yeah, I may have to try another one this year and see. Maybe from a colorwork heavy designer. I just ahven't found one I've liked yet!
I am cautious about swesters There are some yarns which can be so uncomfortable I love seeing them on other people I have had better results with cardigans😊
Have you tried a merino yarn with some cashmere mixed in?
I bought some merino yarn recently simply to experiment with. Thank you for the tip 😀 I will look for Merino and Cashmere to test 😀
Do you machine knit? I am shocked at how quickly you accomplish a sweater.
Nope, all hand knit! I do work from home which helps a lot. Plus I;ve just figured out how to carry my knitting everywhere with me so I can get in a stich or two whenever I have a moment lol.
Which is the sweater that you are wearing? I love the colors
Thank you! It's the Dad's Sweater by Emily Curtis.
@@birchandlilywhat yarn and colour did you use? It looks great on you.
What method of knitting do you prefer? Continental, Norwegian,??
Mix of both. I mostly do continental, but I will Norwegian purl if I feel the pattern lends to it.
What's that in the bathroom? Spooky
