15yrs wow that's great remember back in the day getting a clutch setup for my SRT4 from you folks. Having a Gencoupe with a lot of miles but now interested in the new Kona N I think the tuner market will take hold of that vehicle for some good RnD.
@Franz Fanon all I can say is, it's punchy and noticably faster than the 2.0.. doesnt need to be faster then the 3.3. but it can definitely deliver for a 4 banger. It's the best value if you ask me. The power is great, looks are beautiful, MPG is solid, features are rich, and the price is comfortable. Is there a better version of the car? Sure, is it for everyone?, no.. are there cars better then 3.3 stinger, definitely.. the 4 banger is solid all around when looking for cars under 40k

I had jb4, plugs and intakes with brake snip and launching was useless with stock Michelin ps4s lol. Had to use the boost by gear setting to get out the gate
I sprung for AWD 2020 on a GT model.The AWD makes a diffrence everywhere--from ripping 4.2 second 60s to being able to go the speed limit in downpours with an inch of water on the road.I have a str8 pipe exhaust which is the best--KIA also reset/flashed the computer after the exhaust and said after 2500 RPMs I should be able to get a 10% gain.I ran a 4.2 to 60 and 12.7 in the quarter with no launch control at commerce last year.Mufflers are gone and 2 str8 pipes are welded to the underbody like they do in race/track cars and I have 2 Y pipes at the end--so the car appears stock since the Y pipes fit into the exhaust outlets perfectly.I also just top speeded the car last weekend on a 5 mile sr8t and it hit the governor decently hard--spedo actually seemed to show rt above 170 before the governor kicked in.My buddy in a 2021 charger was about 4 to 6 car lenghts behind me the whole time.It was cool out--low 60s with heavy crosswinds.We were able to do this on a closed HWy that was blocked off for a repair on a bridge in a remote part of the state so I was able to stand on it for at least 3 miles.Car could probably hit mid 170s--but I do not think the turbos could stay on for miles on end without getting hot unless it was frigid outside--I say that because it needed the turbos for the car to get above 160--the 3.3 seemed capable to stay at 160 once it got that fast--MPG was 13.RWD cars were running slower then magaxine times at the track because unless you do a massive burnout you can not hook up like an AWD/I went 3-0 and have the vids on here--every car i raced had between 500 and 650 HP--so i was down at least 100 HP and dusted all 3 cars.In weather under 75 degrees I am pretty sure that my car is right at 400 HP--numbers at the track also show this since I was .2 sec faster to 60 and .2 second faster in the quarter then the fastest magazine times.
The issue with the brakes on the US models is due to the harder materia used on the brake pads. They did that so they would produce less brake dust, because Kia felt that American customers would complain too much about brake dust. The euro-spec brake pads are softer and produce more break dust, but do not end up causing issues with the rotors. Ultimately, if you are a Stinger owner in the US and are having problems with some vibrating or shaking when braking, first be aware that if those rotors and pads are under 15,000 miles, make sure a dealership does not simply turn/cut the rotors, because it is Kia policy for the Stinger that they are supposed to just replace the rotors if they have under 15,000 miles. A lot of dealerships probably don't either know this, or do not follow that rule, so make sure you are aware of it and demand that they replace the rotors. You can state that it is Kia's policy to do so. But if you are continually having issues, then tell the service department that you want them to also put the euro-spec pads on. Again, some service departments are not aware of this as a fix, so make sure to press them on it if necessary, and have them contact corporate to get more information. The info on the euro-spec pads, as well as the rotor replacement, came straight from a Kia Field Tech Specialist.
I have the 2022 Stinger 2.5 liter 4 banger. Wanted to know how much a tune like this would increase the HP from 300 to ? Would I need to add anything else ? Thanks
The hosting is a little stiff in these first few videos of the series, but you can see it all coming together. I'm happy to see you guys branching out! Just don't be afraid to add a little personality in there. Adlibbing a bit could help. It will take more time to shoot and edit, but it will make your videos feel more like your friends is talking to you rather than sitting in class listening to Timmy read his passage during group reading. I bought Kia Stinger 2021 GT1 awd to my collection. Decided to keep it stock, in 20 years people going to be like “wow a stock Stinger!” My Stinger come with squeaky brake pads!
If all the main tuners got together and used each others work n stuff this car would probably be in a better position, ive owned my stinger for 2 and half years and the tuners bicker and talk shit about one another. Still got to 600+ whp on stock turbos tho… but the platform could be at 800whp if everyone got their head out of their ass.
I have a 2022 Kia stinger GT1 AWD. I have borla cat back exhaust, 2 into 1 B.O.V by Tial, cold air intakes, big mouth air inlets, oil catch can, bigger intercooler and transmission cooler(most parts are from Burger motorsports). Custom E.C.U by Lap3 tuning. Rear differential brace. HKS M45 plugs, 5w40 full synthetic oil. I'm pushing 480 AWHP. I also put Ashanti black label wheels plus drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads from R1 racing. Its definitely worth modding, I still daily drive it to.
Usually it’s a cold air intake system, hks spark plugs, a exhaust system best I’ve seen in magnaflow, and a tune. The best tune to not void your warranty is the gts racechip it’s a piggyback. Other tunes include jb4 and other custom tunes. If you really wanna get up there get the lap 3 big turbo upgrade.
@@DRankins25 The Lap3 turbo kit is $12k. Currently the only ones in the 10s are still on the stock turbos but have ECU and TCU tunes, intake, exhaust, intercooler and meth injection.
My best Stinger modification is my new license plate which reads STINGRR. I have the impression that the car is now running even faster since I installed it. It cost me $94 here in CT.
I own one, love it and won't ever sell it. Paint is ass but hey who cares, cars are meant to be driven and I will maintain it to the best of my ability of making it a 20 feet car lol. As for modding it, it's quite expensive like the video says aftermarket has just not hit any KOREAN cars as much, things are very expensive but if you plan on having one for the long run the mods are well worth it. Especially when you can say "You just got gapped by a KIA."
I like them when they came out, but they aren't as good of a value in the used market now. You can get into the Stinger's better looking competitors for not much more money. It's really the styling for me. Instead of "not quite looking like any other car on the road" it looks like "a bit of every other car on the road". It's like they said "draw an audi but change the lights"
I don't like the look. So much happier with Subaru STI - perfect daily and track car. The Stinger specs are nice, but needs more time for the market to grow before making that kind of investment (financially and time/energy). Definitely has potential if KIA is serious and listens to car enthusiasts.
@@Martin944turbo well I guess not since they're discontinuing it already. I'm actually really torn right now between the sti and the stinger. It's back and forth. First I thought I was going to get the stinger and test drove it and was kinda disappointed. I've had a wrx before and I slid right off the road in February coming around a corner that I know I wouldn't have in the sti. Then a guy at a party insisted I test drive his stinger and wow I was interested again.
@@Steve-qi3mo Sucks that it's discontinued and I understand it's a hard market to get into especially when electric vehicles will take over eventually. If the stinger feels right, get it for street driving. All you need is 400-450 HP for the streets and the mods will be much cheaper with the stinger. Good luck with your choice! STIs running 375+ wheel HP and a good tune and crazy fun :)
@@Steve-qi3mo you won’t be disappointed with the stinger at all. He mentions there is not many mods but I heavily disagree being a Stinger owner myself. There is plenty of mods to get the gains that people may want. The car is not for everyone. I noticed a up charge in the used and new market for these and I got mines right before this mess. When I first test drove it and waited a couple of days I kept thinking how much I enjoyed it. Then eventually I pulled the trigger. The aftermarket is there when it comes to tunes, exhaust, intercooler, brakes, and etc. little addition made to the exterior car makes a difference as well. I get a lot people at a gas station saying I like that car and etc. My advice get a car that you will have no regrets about and enjoy it. I enjoy my stinger and have zero regrets!
@@Reecesavage-Alwayswin Unless AWD is a main factor, I can see people going towards a supercharged mustang GT over the Stinger for that HP range. Definitely has potential! Interesting!

Not gonna lie I wanna get a cold air intake and install a chip but I don’t know what the common failures are or common issues owners have up to 100k miles. I didn’t get anything from this vid maybe you’d comment and help me out?
I don't think the issues above 100k miles are well documented because there aren't many (if any) cars above that due to how new the car is. With that being said an intake and a tune (if gotten from a reputable source) is going to be an extremely reliable modification.
@@maperformance115k miles, only problem, starter failure due to the ISG. It’s $1000 replacement. To avoid this, simply turn off the ISG by pushing the “auto off” button each time you turn the car on. The ISG causes much more wear and tear on your starters.
I have a 450 whp stinger. Just piggyback tune, Intakes and e30 mix which can be possible with stock fuel pump. Maybe even a secondary downpipe but its not needed. My stinger is 3,800 pounds bc its rwd and just gt version.

@@alexvalle750 agreed if you would have asked me a year ago would I buy a Kia? I would say no. But it has come a long way and after doing my research the Stinger is pretty damn reliable from everything I gathered. Plan on adding intercooler and JB4 within the next six months or so

While re-badging the entire car I re-purposed the small factory 'Stinger' scroll to the front hood just above the grill. I found it also helped aerodynamics and performance has been greatly improved. Adhesive cost me $14 here in Canada.

Be careful if u go with a tuner on them, I had a 18 rwd and traction becomes a issue quick with mods

It's an issue here in Australia too..I'm upgrading them to DBA rotors and pads

2023 K5 GT with the 2.5t. Fwd and wdct. 290 hp detoned from stinger base. Waiting on ecu tuners and aftermarket to catch up.

how much power can these engines hold? I know kia offers a long warranty but are they really that reliable?
To be honest 650hp and 700tq so far with supporting upgrades. The problem is the fuel systems and too many sensors
