I once took just my Fuji 27mm with Fuji XE2S on my vacation to Southern Spain and my conclusions on my experiences mirror yours. In good light (Southern Spain usually has lots of light) and in the towns the combination was fine. I missed my 16-50 XC zoom for longer shots. But for the wide angle photos I used the Panaoramic setting which solved that problem. However the next time I went I took the zoom and the 27mm. I also took the 50-230mm but I feel I am carrying too much gear so leave the 50-230 at home now.
That lens on my x pro3 or xe4 was my favorite set up. Love the focal range and images I got from that lens. If light was getting low, I shot in Acros and went up to iso 6400 and still got nice images :) awesome lens and a shame that Fuji doesnt produce enough copies of this lens. It is almost never in stores and used prices are close to retail prices
On point review. This is so true about 27mm, it's for city photography. I own this lens 2 times, first the silver one for xm1, but the silver looks so ugly on camera body, sold it. Then bought the black one for my x-e2, i realize i'ts not my favorite focal length. Sold all my fuji body and lenses, now only X70 left, i live 8 years with 18mm focal length 😂
Hi! The F1.2 Viltrox would be a very bright lens to use, indeed. Small size is an advantage but it's not everything. I think one has to make some compromises with just about any lens. Thanks so much for watching!
I bought that lens back when I still had the Fuji version. Yeah, the differences were literally huge. The Viltrox makes up for its weight and size with Image quality. Even at f/1.2 you get such a beautiful Image, it is insane.
Hi! Agreed, the aperture ring would definitely be an advantage. However with this tiny lens I don't miss the aperture ring as much as with some other lenses. Thank you for watching!
The lack of OIS on many lenses - including some new zoom lenses! - pushes consumers to consider cameras with IBIS. I struggle to make a good use of this 27mm lens with my old Fuji camera, compared for example to the cheap and small xc 15-45mm. I admire your ability to take excellent photos with whatever focal length you work. Fantastic photos of Bologna!
Hi Alberto! Thank you very much. I agree that the image stabilization problem is there. Also, the XC 15-45 happens to be one of my favorite lenses. It is very versatile, indeed. Cheers!
@@albertobelfast for stills ibis is little overrated. You would benefit if using a tele lens, shooting longer exposure given no moving subject in the frame. I shot 5D4 (with tele also) , X-T20 without any issues. Video is a different story ofc.
Just got an X-T5 with the XF27mm, Very pleased with the combination. Because of the 40 MP sensor, I can crop the images to bring subjects nearer.
Hi! This sounds like a great combo, indeed. Best of luck to you with your photography!

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. It's good to know that your experiences with this lens have been very similar. Best of luck to you!
Nice review❤

Hi! Acros and ISO 6400 is a neat trick since Acros already has lots of grain anyway. This is a great lens, indeed. Thank you for watching"

Hi! Thank you for sharing it. The X70 is a wonderful camera. Best of luck to you!
Have you had the oportunity to test the TTartisans 27mm f2.8.AF? Is it really good?
Hi! Thank you for this lens suggestion. I've never tested that lens but I'd love to. Kind regards!
I take it you wouldn't use the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 based on size? It would work for low light photography too.

@@venom2k2 Hi! Thanks, that's great to know. I hope I'll get a chance to test this lens. Cheers!
WR version much better because of the aperture ring.

40mm FF equivalent is a very nice angle of view. I'm eyeballing the Viltrox 27mm F1.2, its rather huge but the size doesn't really bother me.
Hi! I think the Viltrox 27mm is a great lens. I've not used it myself but I'd like to, one day. Best of luck to you!
