TELL THEM to get a trailer and get some 30kg potato nylon sacks and garden using vertical gardening method. on the trailer, or just let those sacks hang out from the back door of the van, 8 sacks of soil is amazing extra space to garden, since that much would fit hanging from the back door :)
Could tell they were Czech. They brought a bit of their home country with them. What a great couple. It takes a lot of compromise and a special character and a lot of respect for your partner to live in such close proximity. I hope they find a good family to appreciate their work when they have to leave NZ. Loved the video. Thanks for making it.
I've been following van dwellers for quite some time now, probably a couple hundred hours of viewing conversions, and each take on setup and what they deem necessary. This is already one of my top favorites. I hope they find her a loving new family.
That is easily the prettiest van conversion I've seen. Absolutely gorgeous. And they must have gotten really lucky in their finds to do it on such a low budget; that's quite impressive. And I do agree that not being able to grow more of your own food is a big sacrifice; it's why I'm only considering a van for trips, at some point in the future, and not permanent living.
It would always be good to know a bit more about the people, too: How do you work/afford to travel a whole year and why. Maybe not everyone wants to tell, but it would just be interesting to know.
Living simply as they are, they would only need to make about 10k per year and have an additional 15k for the Van which they can sell at the end of their journey and get their money back for their next journey.
Most people choose to take part time jobs like waitressing, bartending and such, which leaves you enough money and enough time to do the things you wanna do and afford what little you need to spend on your journey.
Put a deposit down on a plane ticket to depart to (insert destination) in 12 months. Use the receipt as your phone/desktop wallpaper so it's always front of mind. that message occupying you for a moment 10+ times a day and knowing the clock is ticking puts you in overdrive. Then you fill up all your time with work (take extra shifts or an extra job) so there is very little time left to spend the money. You'd be surprised how much you end up with after trimming your expenses and the coin from a bit more work.
I`m building up 1 of these Transit vans at the moment and even have the same portable toilet. Difference with mine is I already have most of the materials like word, steel, aluminium, brackets, storage and a 350 watt solar system with 4 batteries providing up to 2350 A/h from a full charge. Currently starting to fit in the insulation. My bed will be a foldable couch designed by myself and I`m trying to sort out a water tank to be mounted underneath the chassis. Will have 2 detachable clothes hangers ( already purchased 4 years ago ). The fridge is a 120 litre Westinghouse fridge/freezer, hooked into a pure sine inverter ( 1000 W continuous / 1500 W peak ) controlled by my own digital thermostat controller. Got 15 meters of remote controlled 12 volt LED lighting as well as a bunch of other LED setups operating from as low as 4.5 volts up to 21 volts. Even got a 6 volt emergency light. Even got quite a similar ceiling light to what they had in this video. I`ll also have security cameras, a 19 inch,12 volt LCD TV as the monitor and got another 2 reversing cameras with their own little monitors. Also have a high gain TV antenna that will be put up as needed so down while in transit. AND much much more but still have a number of months to go before I can get to using it as a trial before I set off in around 2 years to leave everyone and everything else behind. I`m 6 years into an 8 year plan.
OMG!! This guy is totally switch on, a healthy, artistic, functional gifted individual. This is one of the best van out, by far. And man, the details on all the he makes. Love his thinking so COOL!! Awesome and well done. Totally, love these guys ...
Very nice conversion with so much character and well thought out detail. You can see how much the owners care about one another and respect for the places they visit.
What a lovely van and a lovely couple. I hope they are still enjoying themselves out there either traveling or settled in another interesting, alternative style home.
That's really my idea of a tiny home - love the size and what they managed to do with it. Great video Bryce - thanks for another awesome tour!! Take care my friend.
Absolutely the most creative redo on a van. Love it. That wood work is amazing. They are quite talented. I bet they will have the best year in that beautiful van deezie
Hi Bryce, I have been following you for some time now, I am passionate about tiny living. I am from the Czech Republic as well so this video was a nice surprise for me :). Máte supr dodávku, opravdu je vidět, že jste do toho dali srdce :)
What an innovative couple! The wood designs add to the charming details & character of this little rolling nest on wheels. GREAT conversation kids!!👏🏻😄🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
Realy exceptional and fully functional van... kuddos to you guys.. I hv seen this video almost after 1.5 yrs been posted so eager to know on which adventure trip this couple are now on...
Such an awesome van... If I could, I would buy it immediately. With al this details, and I really love the "Kiaora" on the back door. Pretty amazing how you find all this lovely people, with their own ideas of living independent and their dream. You're doing a great job 👍🏻Kathi
You can keep your beer cold also by natural evaporation - wrap the bottle in a wet tea towel, pop it over the air vent (but don't block it - you need the air flow). As you're driving, the evaporation of the water from the tea towel will cause the bottle to cool down radically - it will save some energy in the little fridge! We used to put some bottles on the dashboard like this.
If you had put boxs on the outside of your van doors with clear plastic you could have grown food in them sort of a transportable politunnel, I am autistic if I spell anything wrong forgive ,guess its to late for this van but. Ur next van ..... BTW wow, love ur van
Beautiful and functional, very clever setup. This van is my favorite of all that I've seen. Sprouts could easily be grown inside... couple of Sproutamo sprouters and some seeds harvested every few days.
Such a beautiful nurturing space. And speaking of hitting the road, please give update/status of your tiny home!! Also hope to see more videos from your trip to Japan. Thank you for all your videos, I look forward to every one.
Beautifully done! And proper respect for being straight up about the relationship question. I often wonder how much, if any, strain is put on people in the tiny living situations. I am sure it can be hard for some personality types.
It felt so good when I heard they are Czechs....even though I don´t know them personally, I think you would feel great as well if you were from a country of this small size like me :3) And I am so happy they can travel this much and live their dream
I actually wanna have it. If they put this in the market and if only Im rich by then, I will definitely buy it. Its a WONDERFUL Van. I love it so so so so so much.
Come on this is great! So cool that laser design on ply is incredible. Full dark horse .... Kia Ora Great middle distance breed. Mrs quiet as a mouse. Smart guy
Learning2Smile Nope-Rasa, the camera person and co-editor, is his partner. They are a beautiful couple living an incredible life, bringing these wonderful videos to us. I’m guessing neither of them would offended by your careless comment, but it really isn’t your business who people might love. Hope you keep learning to smile.
Cute set up! They definitely packed a lot into such a small space, and it seems they have everything they need with them. And also I was a little surprised they weren't vegan because all of the videos I've watched of people living in vans they've either been vegan or vegetarian.
Thank you for sharing your home. I loved the dashgarden van accessory. Patent it and earn $ for further trips, Not sure if you all have eaten at an A&W or something similar but the trays brought to the car are used for food could certainly be used as is or cut out leaving a open space to drop in window baskets so plants could easily obtain fresh air and sun ☀️ one could make a little dome to go over and if some Er
Ok, I admit it. Very cool. But this likable couple must be riding on the headwinds of prior prosperity, both financial and intellectual. This must be true. This kind of awesomeness doesn't happen in a vacuum. Thanks for sharing!
Well, you might think so. But it's all just hard work and no great financial prosperity :-D All laser cutting was done in FabLab where I was volunteering, after breaking my wrist.. You don't really need much money to make something beautiful, just need to be creative and have your eyes wide open for opportunities.
I guess I'm very American because it took me a while to figure out that the wheel was on the other side, I was worried they were blocking their view with the herb garden haha
The herb garden in the dash has to be the single most original thing I've ever seen. Love it!
Yes I love that idea as well.
It was my favourite part of the van too. :)
Wouldn't it get too hot for the plants? I'm so amazed they are growing in there!
TELL THEM to get a trailer and get some 30kg potato nylon sacks and garden using vertical gardening method. on the trailer, or just let those sacks hang out from the back door of the van, 8 sacks of soil is amazing extra space to garden, since that much would fit hanging from the back door :)
Dragonetta - Glove compartments are better suited for growing mushrooms. ;-)
This host is so fantastic at his job! He could woo a statue :) Excellent, his charm and charisma really make this show something delightful.
this is one of the best jobs I've ever seen on a van conversion
This is a brilliant couple, and considering that they came from the Czech Republic, their English is amazing. Bravo! Good interviewer too.
Hey! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video! :)

you are the best interviewer ever. I could listen to you talk for hours!

It's certainly the first thing that I think about, i.e. how do people afford their lifestyle?
Living simply as they are, they would only need to make about 10k per year and have an additional 15k for the Van which they can sell at the end of their journey and get their money back for their next journey.
+geek Exactly. Friends of mine did the same in Australia. The saved up a long time. But they also did some work here and there.
Most people choose to take part time jobs like waitressing, bartending and such, which leaves you enough money and enough time to do the things you wanna do and afford what little you need to spend on your journey.

When he first entered the premises, I thought there could not be enough space, but once inside it was awesome!! I love it!
this is by far the best van I have seen. really well made . hope they got good value for their effort.
Very nice video and van they did a great job. If I was a young man I would love to live this way
Great video! That camper van is awesome! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks guys! :)

My jaw dropped when they entered the van. 100% not what I was expecting. That is so freaking impressive.
Very nice conversion with so much character and well thought out detail. You can see how much the owners care about one another and respect for the places they visit.
Those extra touches are really lovely. Great use of space too. Love it. Thank you Bryce for always delivering terrific videos ~ Cheers
Thanks for watching Jen! Glad you enjoyed the video. :)
I love the toilet in the back! Like a tiny room and separated from the living area. So smart!
Sir that wasn't carried away...that was AWESOME!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I agree. One of my favourite van conversions so far.
Living Big In A Tiny House it was so intricate and inviting!!!
What a lovely van and a lovely couple. I hope they are still enjoying themselves out there either traveling or settled in another interesting, alternative style home.
the toilet/wetsuit compartment is a great idea I'm keeping it for my van project
How creative and outside the box thinkers are these 2. Brilliant.
I love this van,,,,, what a special place to enjoy the natural beauty!
That's really my idea of a tiny home - love the size and what they managed to do with it. Great video Bryce - thanks for another awesome tour!! Take care my friend.
This is the natural progression of the tiny house movement. Total portability.
Absolutely the most creative redo on a van. Love it. That wood work is amazing. They are quite talented. I bet they will have the best year in that beautiful van
deezie
Thank you, we had a really great time in that van a were very sad to let it go..
Well done! Lots of innovative ideas in this one, and what a cool couple. Great tour!
Cheers dude! Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe one day I'll tour your van in the states! :)
Hi Bryce, I have been following you for some time now, I am passionate about tiny living. I am from the Czech Republic as well so this video was a nice surprise for me :). Máte supr dodávku, opravdu je vidět, že jste do toho dali srdce :)
Wow! They have done an amazing job with this van!
What an innovative couple! The wood designs add to the charming details & character of this little rolling nest on wheels. GREAT conversation kids!!👏🏻😄🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦
Wow! Without a doubt the nicest van conversion I've ever seen. If they were in America, I'd offer to buy their van when they were finished traveling.
This is amazing! Some of the ideas are really cool like a small herb garden, and a sliding door to separate the wet area and toilet from the interior.
Realy exceptional and fully functional van... kuddos to you guys..
I hv seen this video almost after 1.5 yrs been posted so eager to know on which adventure trip this couple are now on...
Thanks for your kind words. Well, we are back in Europe now, looking after a sheep farm in the mountains.
Wow, they are from Czech Republic... who would have thought that. Zdravím vás ! :)
Such an awesome van... If I could, I would buy it immediately. With al this details, and I really love the "Kiaora" on the back door. Pretty amazing how you find all this lovely people, with their own ideas of living independent and their dream. You're doing a great job 👍🏻Kathi
Wow. What an amazing attention to detail. I just moved into a self-contained van and I love #vanlife. I hope you got the road too Bryce!
Oh awesome! What kind of van do you have? How are you finding it? I would love to do a van project one day.
I love all the beautiful artwork! Great job on all the personalization and life that you brought to the ambulance.
Glad you liked it!
Amazing! little home big life...
Exactly! Who could ask for more?! :)
Oh my gosh a trailer with a greenhouse and a little rain water collection tank would make a perfect mobile addition!!!
The small spaces I like best are the ones that are also artistic expression. Jewels.

The woodwork is incredible....great find B......from Houston Texas
Great build! I really like the rear compartment for storing kit and wet gear. The herb garden is very neat too.
Love all the wood work. I'm going to try and figure out a way to incorporate something like it in our Airstream. Art + Functional!
Thanks for sharing and great interview Bryce! This is one of the best (ambulance) conversions I've seen so far.
Go Czech Republic!
Nicest most well equipped $15,000 van I have seen. They made good use out of the available space.
Fantastic conversion. and a great legacy to pass onto someone else.
If you had put boxs on the outside of your van doors with clear plastic you could have grown food in them sort of a transportable politunnel, I am autistic if I spell anything wrong forgive ,guess its to late for this van but. Ur next van ..... BTW wow, love ur van

they are so organized
Beautifully done! And proper respect for being straight up about the relationship question.
I often wonder how much, if any, strain is put on people in the tiny living situations. I am sure it can be hard for some personality types.
Very nice woodwork and set-up inside, craftsman ship !
It felt so good when I heard they are Czechs....even though I don´t know them personally, I think you would feel great as well if you were from a country of this small size like me :3)

Thanks Neta. Lots more from Japan coming soon!
Outstanding work on the video and the van.
Ok, I admit it. Very cool. But this likable couple must be riding on the headwinds of prior prosperity, both financial and intellectual. This must be true. This kind of awesomeness doesn't happen in a vacuum. Thanks for sharing!
Yep thousands of dollars just in laser cutting of useless decoration
nuthn2do well, they might of known someone who has one so they got it free/cheap?
Well, you might think so. But it's all just hard work and no great financial prosperity :-D
All laser cutting was done in FabLab where I was volunteering, after breaking my wrist.. You don't really need much money to make something beautiful, just need to be creative and have your eyes wide open for opportunities.
Love the rope trim.

Really nice van conversion
Congrats, it is a really nice van, great job.
really nice folks and great video. impressive build out of their Van.
Thanks Wayne! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow vastante hermoso el lugar. La van tiene lo suyo bendiciones
Beautiful and what a brilliant adventure. Just sad they will need to sell it, but maybe they have gained insight for their next project.
Great idea, ambulances have great speed and handling.
Perfect for a nomadic meth cook, can even handle a minor police chase.
ManBitch lol
Fantastic channel, really liked it!
awesome how they manage to fit it all on a van... it certainly could have a shower in the back, made from fiber glass and epoxy resin
THe little herb garden in the dash ! Hidden chessboars in dining table with custom chess pieces !? C'mon this is realy VANtastic !
a greenhouse vegetable garden trailer would be a cool addition
Such a great van!
Everybody should live in big vans. We could keep the whole world green then.
I wonder if the chest pieces flip over and convert into checkers. Really love this set up i want to do something similar.
I guess I'm very American because it took me a while to figure out that the wheel was on the other side, I was worried they were blocking their view with the herb garden haha
Perfect Caravan , I like it.
How brilliant! So perfect! If only I had 15k or so :-) I hope they enjoy life wherever they go next!
This is a credit, top marks in my opinion
Yup, I totally agree. This was a great fit-out!
