Just a fair warning. Do not update to v71. They updated the fan speed to spin slightly slower, and now it's causing thermal throttling as the headset is now pushing the fan to 100% for a couple of seconds or minutes.
everyone would love this, but realistically they would probably not do this. they get a lot of their profits from the quest store, and this would effectively make that useless. there is of course the rift store, but it's not as big of a money generator as the quest store. and of course there's other game platforms like steamvr, which, in their eyes, is just throwing money away since those game platform's profits arent landing into meta's pockets.

I think they may have fixed it since the earlier V71 PTC versions, but after my Pro updated, it destroyed the tracking - it would lose tracking every minute or so and keep shifting the play space. Passthrough and hand tracking were also extremely choppy, so watch out in case it happens with yours 😺
yep, quest pro v71 is unable to be rolled back to v69. and my quest pro's screen has pixel and graphical distortion. it can be lowered by disabling experimental settings & hand tracking but still..
I know videos aren't a good representation of real world quality, but how would you compare lenses, fov, and passthrough of the Quest 3 to the Quest 2?
Wish meta would ditch horizon world. Why would anyone buy a State of the art headset to enter janky low Poly worlds. Makes no sense at all. Meta! Grow up! 😂. The whole meta world crap is just garbage 🗑️
Because it’s a work in progress. Eventually it will get better but the idea is actually similar to the whole concept of Bone Works. It’s supposed to a virtual world where you can do anything. That being said I don’t play it because it does looks like crap and for me It’s just not ready yet but one day hopefully it will reach its potential. No different than the entire concept of VR either. A lot of flat screen gamers say the exact same thing about VR.
hi can you test usb c to rj45 adapters with the quest 2 /3/3s pro ?? i would love to use my quest sitting and without wifi it seemed to work n the past but i have tried a few network adapters and it seems to be disabled i am running v69 on quest 2
@@phillhatton4492 is it hard to connect a power bank placed in your back pocket by a decent wire behind your head? I can play for 6 hours like this with no extra weight on the head and don't feel a textile braided cable on my back at all.
@@Tyrielwood I bought one too like a week ago, for me the badest part is still the "google" effekt like i feel way to much that i look the world through a google, also my vision kinda overlaps? Like the middle disracts me. Also one thing that i hate the most in vr is the fixed focal range, everything you want to see closly is pixelated. still i have every Oculus and quest headset, i hope for a bright future!
@@Chainsaw649 Its called the vignette effect, its one of the issues that pancake lenses have and no one talks about and also one of the reasons i returned my Quest 3 too. It makes the lenses dim on the borders and when the two pancake lenses overlap each other you get dizzy and makes it like a binoculars effect because of this it reduces the field of view which is not good at all when you watch media content. I must say that the Quest 2 freshnel lenses looked more pleasant to me compared to the pancake lenses, despite being a bit blurry they had a uniform light across the entire field of view which is more pleasant compared to the Quest 3 in my opinion. I guess the Quest 3S will be a good alternative for those people who are unconfortable with the original Quest3 pancake lenses vignette effect. Im not joking but when i tried the original Quest 3 to watch the Assassins creed 3d movie it got really hot in just 15 minutes of use and my forehead sweat a lot then the battery didn´t last much no more than 1 hour and half, i must say this but the Quest 3 must be the most unconfortable headset i ever tried, maybe i got a faulty unit i don´t really now.
Yeah, my old quest 2 is still usefull. It makes excellent night vision goggles (with a ir light installed). None of the other newer headsets can still do that.
Umm the vision in darkness is still way better than the 2. I have the 2 as well but I preordered the 3s because it’s a bit of a wake up call. Certain games already aren’t supported on the 2 and soon enough they will just stop optimizing apps just for the 2 and drop the 2 all together

Meta needs to make a stripped down "Quest 3" with no battery or SOC and a full sized DP. Just call it the "Rift 2" or something.

I bought the quest 3 yesterday and to be honest as a multiple year owned quest 2 user. I am a little bit disappointed
