I like this tankor, it's super cool. Plus it more accurate towards the tankor drones so if you wanted to pose/recreate scenes with the figures you could have 2-6 of these with the main tankor at the center leading the attack
I think Its rather silly that people dis this figure just because it doesn't look like the animations model. IMO this Tankor looks a lot cooler then the animation model.
I have this guy, and while the shoulder bits popped off, I can say... What, do you think I'm gonna say something different than the other comments? …he's badass.
I loved this figure as a kid, still do actually. Even prefer him over the show arcuate Beast Machines drone because to me he just looks cooler and has a better(to me) color scheme. My joints however were pretty tight and held up pretty well except for the orange shoulder plates. Those popped off all the time. He actually had a pretty cool gimmick in bot mode where the eye moves as well using the red dial on top of the turret. And you can move the saw blades with your finger using the wheels- You DO NOT want a hug from this guy! lol But I agree the biggest problem is the way everything tabs in tank mode isnt very secure. If he was just a littler bigger, had ankle tilts and a better tab system he'd be damn near perfect maybe hasbro can revisit him sometime.
@@fireconvoy3804 yea not going to lie the beast machine maximal designs are trash, though I love the concept it just doesn't work in practice very well. Hell if they decide to reboot them we could even see the vehicons become combiners
I like to imagine that Tankor used this form when Megatron first put him to work on Cybertron, before the Maximals from Beast Wars got there and switched bodies once Megatron gave him the armada of drones.
Robert Sanders I've picked him up now from ebay for small money and he's great. I think so too that he looks better than the show model. The only two things I have to complain about are first what baltmatrix mentioned that his front half of the tank mode is floppy and second the "transformation" for the lower legs is way to simple. At least they could have given the feet a hinch to fold them back for tank mode or even some posability.
This is the only Beast Machines Tankor toy that isn't cartoon-accurate. Beast Machines McDonald's Happy Meal Tankor, Beast Machines Basic Tank Drone, Beast Wars Returns Tankor, and Generations Tankor are the only cartoon-accurate Beast Machines Tankor toys.
Hey man, you forgot one of the coolest details about this guy. The moving eye gimmick for his vehicle mode? It also works in robot mode, for his robot head. Even cooler, is that he's got wicked-awesome light-piping, and the light-piping actually moves WITH the eye. Put him behind a good light source, and you can get some seriously awesome moving glowy eye action. Personally, I really love this guy. I like him far, far better than the tank-drone toy.
I found this at a comic shop, but passed on it since I'm tight on cash. I also know someone who does Transformers customizations (paint and remolding), and has used this mold to make a _mean_ looking Impactor.
All of the early BM toys (especially the Vehicon Generals) are what the show models were originally based on. Much like the season 1 designs for BW, Mainframe took a lot of creative liberties to streamline the designs for ease of animation, hence why none of these toys look exactly like what they did in the cartoon. The only difference here is that Hasbro worked to put out some more screen-accurate toys for the line (in the form of the Tank Drone and Motorcycle Drone, etc.), whereas BW never got any updated toys based on the Mainframe models.
I do like that his vehicle mode head is different from the show's version. It was weird that he was the only general that had the same head in both modes.
Only downside is the missile launcher ends up over the wrong shoulder. This Tankor still looks cool even if it’s not show accurate. Sometimes not being show accurate does work. Do prefer the look of the Tank Drone though.
I think the reason these ones look so weird is that the generals were originally meant to have unique appearences but the show was already straining the budget
This is probably one of my favorite transformers, maybe because I only got it recently, maybe because of how I got it, maybe it’s just a good toy Why am I watching a review of him He’s about 4 feet away from me, why don’t I just play with him? I’ll do that instead
hey, just came across this video, and i noticed you saying about ball joints popping off. i have this figure, and i dont recall him ever once having this problem, so i dont know why it happened for you. just thought i'd post, since like the rest of your vids too, and though i'd contribute finally :)
This is a good fig but like most of em in the beast wars line the problem is accuracy Not the Figure, It is not a surprise to me how many of these got repaints(I own the Tankor universe repaint) casue the figures for the most part(looking at you longhorn) are decent , They just look nothing like the show, but as a toy I think tankor is up there with a lot of the Tank Transformers and his pluses out weigh his minuses for me, good figure!
if you put nail polish remover, you will probably melt the plastic... just pop the legs of, apply a drop of of super glue (the very thin one) and start moving the figure until it covers the whole ball. then pop the leg back and voila. apply as many layers as you see fit.
That beacuse the good guys are the maximals(beast into robot) the bad guys are vehicons(vehicles into robots) the shows name literally means beasts vs machines
claws, one eye, shoulder cannon, strong and dumb as rocks? it pretty much IS krekka. Tankor's voice actor played Nidhiki in Lomn, and is the real life brother of Krekka's voice actor
I like this tankor, it's super cool. Plus it more accurate towards the tankor drones so if you wanted to pose/recreate scenes with the figures you could have 2-6 of these with the main tankor at the center leading the attack
Screw show accuracy I think this Tankor looks badass compared to the official design.
I agree fully
Chaotic Tyrant I agree it looks a lot cooler than the show
Plus his original design mold is very simalar
Chaotic Tyrant ii
They actually used this figure in the Beast Wars comic as the Cybertronian form of Predacon Skold
I think Its rather silly that people dis this figure just because it doesn't look like the animations model. IMO this Tankor looks a lot cooler then the animation model.

Original tankor =good. This tankor = awesome
Video testing actually, this is the original.
I miss when he was Rhinox tho
It's not just the mono-eye, also the snout of a Zaku. I have no doubt it's an intended homage.
Don't forget that the back part of the tank turret can open up to reveal a massive orange light piping section, to make that mono-eye really glow
Personally, I think this guy is badass.
It blew my mind as a kid when it was revealed who who was before he was reformated into Tankor by Megatron
Beast machines deserve the masterpiece treatment the most.
So much potential, especially with the molding potential we have now
Maybe just for the vehicons bc the maximal designs look horrible
@@fireconvoy3804 yea not going to lie the beast machine maximal designs are trash, though I love the concept it just doesn't work in practice very well.

@@ryanhernandez5632 yeah i guess the vehicons are worth it
I remember getting the 2003 recolor of this figure at a yard sale, it was my favorite toy and my first transformer.
I like to imagine that Tankor used this form when Megatron first put him to work on Cybertron, before the Maximals from Beast Wars got there and switched bodies once Megatron gave him the armada of drones.
I like the concept of many of these figures. Folding them inside out to Transform them is pretty cool, but I think Hasbro sacrificed the aesthetics.
This was my favorite Vehicon, better than the shows version of the toy, and the amount of cool play features was just a boat load of joy!.
Yes!!! I've been looking for this for ages!! This was my favourite toy growing up!
I had loads of beast wars to! Love the videos!
he be rolling down the street
he be rolling to the beat
This is one of my favorites the claws, and saws (rhyme unintended) just sold me when it first came out.
I got the Universe redeco and I've never had problems with it falling apart
You forgot about a gimmick. there is a hatch behind where the "thruster" sits. if you open it, you give the tank mode's eye light piping.
I remember that. If I see that figure again, I'm picking him up. He was one of the best figures, He looked better than the show model in my opinion.
Robert Sanders

I still have this guy.
I love the red and black color scheme
Great review friend! I wished he looked more like he did in the show!👍
6:40: I like Fezzes, Fezzes are cool!

watching you transform this at the end is hilarious lol
it's like he's blindfolded and frustrated as hell
Ah this takes me back ferst transformers I ever got for my 5th birthday. :)
you missed the back turret panel that folds down to enable the light piping to the turret eye :)
when you put the thruster-thingy on top of his head it looks like he's wearing a fez
ZAKU TANK!!!
Personally, I prefer THIS over what was used on the TV series.
Tankor and the jet delux size were the best figures in the set
Only downside is the missile launcher ends up over the wrong shoulder. This Tankor still looks cool even if it’s not show accurate. Sometimes not being show accurate does work. Do prefer the look of the Tank Drone though.
The tankor eyes always made me think of the Cylons in Battle Star Galactica (1970s)
I think the reason these ones look so weird is that the generals were originally meant to have unique appearences but the show was already straining the budget
This mold would later be the inspiration for a figure in siege whose name is blanking on me at the moment
If it's Brunt, then I'm not seeing the resemblance other than “he’s a tank”.
This is probably one of my favorite transformers, maybe because I only got it recently, maybe because of how I got it, maybe it’s just a good toy
Why am I watching a review of him
He’s about 4 feet away from me, why don’t I just play with him?
I’ll do that instead
baltmatrix i like this grate video lot i enjoy Beast Machines lot i seen the show in the past yaer a go
to mrtyler603 really a bobcat transformer?
Not a bad toy, but he needs to look more like his show counterpart.
Jesus man the quality of this is video though 0:50
why the feet arent folded down in vehicle mode?
tankor is rhinox?!?!
Yup. And He's a trator
hey, just came across this video, and i noticed you saying about ball joints popping off. i have this figure, and i dont recall him ever once having this problem, so i dont know why it happened for you. just thought i'd post, since like the rest of your vids too, and though i'd contribute finally :)
Just got the universe version off of tfsource. Opened it up and the launcher shot 20 feet across my house and shot my beagle.
This is a good fig but like most of em in the beast wars line the problem is accuracy Not the Figure, It is not a surprise to me how many of these got repaints(I own the Tankor universe repaint) casue the figures for the most part(looking at you longhorn) are decent , They just look nothing like the show, but as a toy I think tankor is up there with a lot of the Tank Transformers and his pluses out weigh his minuses for me, good figure!
the saw gimmic is crazy
No, this is the Beast Machines version.
how tall is he?
if you put nail polish remover, you will probably melt the plastic... just pop the legs of, apply a drop of of super glue (the very thin one) and start moving the figure until it covers the whole ball. then pop the leg back and voila. apply as many layers as you see fit.
Tankor has the world's deadliest bearhug.
Thx I was wondering who that was
i think this mold was used during the universe 2003 era
bruh, the toys where before the show what did you expect??
I just got this today
RIP Rhinox
Evolved tankor!!!!!!
Clear nail polish
We finally have a transformers Zaku 2!!!!
who's Zaku?
A Zaku is a mobile suit from the original Gundam series. It's basically the "grunt" MS.
That was the Universe version.
Tankor's robot mode has a fez.
Those feet are molded that way. They don't move at all, so they can't be folded down.
very VERY Zaku like
tankor is actually rhinox in a diferent body
Ive never seen the show, but the things on his chest look like more guns
Tankor.......getting..........sleepy.........Tankor...........need.........nap...................
TANKOR SLAG BIRD-BOT!
Hello? I'm a bat!
i like
This is no Zaku boy! No Zaku!
The only people that would like this figure. Are people that would like the michael bay offering
Cool figure, but where's the beast?? All I see is machine!
That beacuse the good guys are the maximals(beast into robot) the bad guys are vehicons(vehicles into robots)
the shows name literally means beasts vs machines
Beast machines: Beast. Machine. This series featured both.
Also he used to be Rhinox
Its a Cylon! Aka cylonkor
this tankor is way cooler :D
He kinda has a gundum seravee thing going on, big limbs and another face on the back
2018
Kinda reminds me of the Thundercats' Thundertank.
its a good figure, but it always looked like they was gonna make the feet fold up then didnt bother
i had a transformer like this except it was a bobcat yellowish color
mrtyler603 I had that one too
Rhinox
Tankor = Rhinox
Cool spoilers, bro.
Would be great if he was blue.
toy based of concept art
Nail polish remover? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I dont lile the maximal designs in beast machines they look disguisting
The head looks like another Go Bot
He reminds me of krekka for some reason
claws, one eye, shoulder cannon, strong and dumb as rocks? it pretty much IS krekka. Tankor's voice actor played Nidhiki in Lomn, and is the real life brother of Krekka's voice actor
Beast Machines toys sucked most of the time, and yeah, the movies weren't much in terms of plot, but at least we got good toys out of it.
Wrong. I like this figure and avoid Bayformers like the plague.
