Hi! I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe 2 DOOR!!! Your truck has inspired me and my boyfriend to start building on the truck in our free time! Thank you so much man we are gonna practice working on stuff doing this
SniderTron 3000 haha mines white with tan leather interior and it came from California so it's completely rustless frame is amazing I'm gonna lower it first I think
Those "frame horns" you cut out were actually the 2 center rear bumper mounts, held in a hand full of bolt, cutting them off definitely less of a headache though.
Just 3 bolts holding those horns on. Removed mine with a ratchet laying on my back in gravel. Try to do as much as possible the correct way. Just lends itself to better results most times. I have the same roll pan & watching your video trying to figure out how you dealt with the horns/fender portion as mine isn't shaped/contoured the same & I was wondering if you just mounted it behind the fender & used filler to blend it in. Maybe I have to cut/trim it to fit but then the mounting holes on the bottom far ends would be cut off. Wondering if I got the wrong part but it fits up under the tailgate etc
I never trust those smash connections. I always heat shrink and tape afterwards.. and they still come off lol 😂 the roll pan looks slick. I agree fill in and make it seem less. It’ll look factory
SniderTron 3000 thats awsome.. my dad was a dead beat and never around.. BUT! out of that came the necessity for me to learn to fix my moms cars and learn to wrench..
Looking back I hated that my pops was so far away! Me in Maryland and him in SW Florida...16isH hours drive. We would get things of all sorts done on any and everything when we did get together. Throughout 2015 he helped me in looking for a new house to buy as well as with the purchase. Settled on Halloween 2015. He intended on selling his home in Florida and coming to live with me and my son. While fixing the house up, and looking for a new home back closer to Maryland. Sadly a mere month after settlement he passed away the 30th of November 2015. Talk about being devastated!! With that said move a little closer if possible before it's too late. This November will be six years and it feels like yesterday at times.. anyhoot best of luck in your ventures with your truck, and your pops.
@@bmores0nly sorry to hear that. My Parents made their choice. After the crash of 08 when the family all left CO, 5 of their children ended up here in UT. They went to live near my Sis in WA. Kind of a snub to all of us here, but we go up to see them as often as we can and they drive down here.
in case any of you out there went to do this use the bumper mounting brackets for support of roll pan in the center cut them close to inside to roll pan and weld them to roll pan because if you fiberglass roll pan to bed it will crack from the vibration if you do not
How did you attach the bed spacer l looking thing? Did you have to buy a new one? Attached to the body and the bottom left and bottom right of roll pan? I don’t believe I saw it thank you
Please film the lowering kit process and how many inches it was dropped since I have a 1990 stepside as well at Stock height and debating whether I should lower mine or not , truck is looking good , should maybe add some Bedliner to cover up those scratches
stumbled apon your channel a while back and i grew to it i love your videos bro really interested in both your build the slow gmc and the obs keep up the great videos bro!
Those are the same air hoses in the garage from when he first built it 20 years ago. The red one was a 30 foot hose, but it's been cut down so much it's probably closer to 24 feet by now
Bro, the 2 ground bolts under the drivers side cab on the rear side of the mount brace. I don't know if you cleaned them up yet on the dropped truck but I had total failure on my 03 this is probably the wrong comment box lol, but the roll pan looks good tho.mine wouldn't start and had the entire truck shorted. I got it done today just a heads up brotha.
That's a hope you nvr get hit or back into anything pan cause you will break more than a bumper. Keep your roll pan I'll not replace half the rear clip
@@SniderTron3000 still beats a roll pan. Been there done that. I bumped 3 ft high pole in a gas station parking lot and it got the roll pan the bed, tailgate and the tail light. With a bumper it would have been minor. And yes 5mph but that's why it's called a bumper n not a crash bar
Hey snidertron, I've been watching your videos about the c1500 and love every single one of them, I was on my way home today after getting some quotes for a new exhaust, but sadly had a massive front end collision and totaled it. Hopefully the truck continues to treat you right
Yeah, I just put a bigger fuel pump in the Slowmosexual to support the boost, that video will be out tomorrow. I'm just waiting on parts and then I'll start the install of that. And I do think we're going to put the 5.3 from the RX-7 in the OBS just because it'll take a lot less money than the RX-7 will. And probably put a 350 and 700r4 back in the Mazda so it's driveable again. And then maybe do a turbo sbc build of that over winter, idk though
Awesome video the roll pan came out great, how would you say the quality is and about what gauge do you think it is? I’m lookin at getting one for my nbs, thanks
I think the quality was pretty decent. I didn't think to really look at the thickness, but maybe 18 or 16 gauge. I really think if my truck was in better shape it would fit perfect.
The tires are some old Mickey Thompson E/T Streets we had lying around. My dad used to have a 1980 El Camino, almost like a pro street style that he kept these off of when he sold that. They're 295/65r15 I believe. Perfect size tire for the truck, my wheels just have too little back spacing to tuck them when I drop it.
It looks good and all but what really is the point? Is that it to make it look better? I mean its nice dont get me wrong but just seems kinda pointless, unless your like me and your bumper is dicked
SniderTron 3000 the reason i ask is bc i have an f150 im slowly making into a street truck and was jw, looks rad, but didn’t care for the unevenness but like you said in the video one could make it seamless, but i also don’t really care for that look as well.. maybe im too picky 🤷🏼♂️
I'm picky about the stupidest things. I'm fine with my truck being dented or scratched up, but I have to have the spark plug wires neat and tidy or it'll annoy the fuck out of me lol messy wiring is my number one pet peeve
I'd like to do a 3800SC swap in it someday. But, that'll be after everything else is done and I have a bunch of extra cash burning a hole in my pocket haha
Random trivia before I go and catch up on sleep, Fieros don't get much for scrap because the bodies are all plastic. They have a full space frame chassis and the body is basically glued to it. It's kinda neat actually.
I put one on my 97 chev looks so sweet
Hi! I have a 1997 Chevy Tahoe 2 DOOR!!! Your truck has inspired me and my boyfriend to start building on the truck in our free time! Thank you so much man we are gonna practice working on stuff doing this
Nice! The 2 door Tahoe's are so sick when they're dropped and on some nice wheels
Yeah, I know they were the bumper mounts lol I didn't see any bolts holding them on, but full disclosure, I didn't look really hard haha
Not a problem anymore! Rollpan & hitch delete was the first thing I did on my 97 c1500 weight savings and just looks a hell of a lot better.
Just 3 bolts holding those horns on.
Removed mine with a ratchet laying on my back in gravel.
Try to do as much as possible the correct way.
Just lends itself to better results most times.

louis armstrong Infirmary
Those bumper brackets he cut after the bumper was off just fall right out
I never trust those smash connections. I always heat shrink and tape afterwards.. and they still come off lol 😂 the roll pan looks slick.
I agree fill in and make it seem less. It’ll look factory
I've heard a few people say they hate those things lol I've honestly never had any issues with them
When all else fails..GRAB DAD!
He has a 6th sense for coming out to the garage just when I need something torched lol I'm okay with it
SniderTron 3000 thats awsome.. my dad was a dead beat and never around.. BUT! out of that came the necessity for me to learn to fix my moms cars and learn to wrench..
Would i need to buy a special hitch to make a roll pan work on a c1500 fleetside
Yeah, I believe so. This roll pan has the opening for a flip down plate for a hidden hitch. That'd be the ideal route
SniderTron 3000 thanks!
Count yourself lucky to be able to wrench with your Old Man. My Dad is three states and 12 hours away. I miss being able to work on stuff with him.
Yeah, my brother lives down in Texas and he tells us all the time he misses being up here.

@Snidertron3000 ive got that exact same shirt 😂
An old guy with a fire wrench solves most problems
Dad videos are always good videos
Technically, I think all videos of mine are dad videos haha
Always thought those were weld in
Not for stepsides that have fiberglass bed sides.
You should get pops to wear safety glasses while torching.
He's 61. There's no changing him now lol
Made in China tends to do that! Does look great! Cant wait till you get that thing lowered!!!
Me neither, man. It was supposed to show up today and I still haven't gotten a shipping notification. I sent them a strongly worded email lol
I know this is old, but is there no underneath supports? Just the screws along the top?
Frame horns fall out once all bolt are removed from bumper
Love the videos, hope you grow to 1million subscribers soon. Keep the great content rolling.
I appreciate it, man! I was honestly just hoping to get to 10k by the end of the year. I guess I'll be needing a new goal lol
SniderTron 3000 10k, you truly deserve 100k
Maybe someday lol
Good stuff! In the past, I just filled in the seams with kittyhair to smooth out roll pans. Always came well.
That might be in the cards for this. Like, as it is, it's plenty good enough for me, but I wouldn't want to like "show it off" or anything lol
in case any of you out there went to do this use the bumper mounting brackets for support of roll pan in the center cut them close to inside to roll pan and weld them to roll pan because if you fiberglass roll pan to bed it will crack from the vibration if you do not
Yea boy Victor can fix most anything!!!
You're going somewhere with this channel i hope you pick up traction with the views and subs.
I'm going right into the trash lol
SniderTron 3000 nah man just keep doing what you're doing lol
I have 1989 step side
Read my mind. Was just looking at these for my 99 Stepside. Looks sweet.
Looks really good
What did you end up doing with the bottom corners?
So glad I found this channel keep up the good work
What a rust bucket
That's fair lol
Looks sharp dude. Can't wait to see it when its dropped.
How did you attach the bed spacer l looking thing? Did you have to buy a new one? Attached to the body and the bottom left and bottom right of roll pan? I don’t believe I saw it thank you

I definitely will if the fucking thing ever shows up. It was supposed to be here today at the latest and it hasn't even shipped out yet!
Put some 454ss style mirrors. They look way better.
Yeah, it really needs new mirrors
stumbled apon your channel a while back and i grew to it i love your videos bro really interested in both your build the slow gmc and the obs keep up the great videos bro!
At least I'm not the only one who's air tools leak .
Those are the same air hoses in the garage from when he first built it 20 years ago. The red one was a 30 foot hose, but it's been cut down so much it's probably closer to 24 feet by now
eh idk about them roll pans but I prefer the back bumper more since it more sturdy.
Good looking out! I'll take a gander at it next time I'm under it
That's a hope you nvr get hit or back into anything pan cause you will break more than a bumper. Keep your roll pan I'll not replace half the rear clip
You realize bumpers are only rated for a 5mph impact, right?
@@SniderTron3000 still beats a roll pan. Been there done that. I bumped 3 ft high pole in a gas station parking lot and it got the roll pan the bed, tailgate and the tail light. With a bumper it would have been minor. And yes 5mph but that's why it's called a bumper n not a crash bar
Man you don’t know how much I look Forward to watching the c1500 videos I got a 93 step Side extended cab Silverado Love the vids SniderTron 3000
Lol..
"Yoinked out"is a new word to my dictionary haha.
It's a little tougher than a yank, but no where's near a rip.
I’m really liking these videos man. I’m a new follower but you have amazing content keep it uo
Do u have a dumped exhaust system?
Are those Drag Radials? Nice Truck!
Yes, they are lol completely unnecessarily
Have you looked into a step shaver kit? Might be something you dig
I've seen truck with the rear steps shaved and it looks good, but I don't know if I'd be into doing it. I don't have the patience for body work lol
You'll want to keep those steps now that you have no bumper to step on.
Having those made my decision to do the rollpan a no brainer.
Hey snidertron, I've been watching your videos about the c1500 and love every single one of them, I was on my way home today after getting some quotes for a new exhaust, but sadly had a massive front end collision and totaled it. Hopefully the truck continues to treat you right
That fucking blows! Maybe they'll give you a discount on the exhaust work lol
SniderTron 3000 lol hopefully, but nah engine ended up sitting three inches back from original
That's some pretty good force! lol Glad it it was the truck that took most of the impact
Are u going to be camming this truck later on?
Well, we're debating on taking the 5.3 out of the RX-7 and putting it in the OBS. But, yeah it would get cammed either way
Just another day in the salt belt
How are the cab mounts on this thing? I'm basically having to weld new ones for an otherwise fairly clean truck...
The rubber bushings aren't the greatest, but the metal itself is in decent shape
Beast bro love the trucks keep modding them love your vids 🤘🏼💪🏼
How did you end up mounting it on the bottom? Im putting the same pan on my 88
day 14 feels so long patiently waiting on the drop kit for the no name old body style video :(
In 4 days it'll be exactly a month since I ordered it :/ It shipped out Friday though, so hopefully this week it'll show up
SniderTron 3000 ill be waiting on that good as video 😎 Notification gang!
NOTI GANG! lol
SniderTron 3000 is there going to be a video of installing the supercharging the slow gmc? and video idea "Ls Swapping the old body style 🤗🤔🤫🏁"
And then maybe do a turbo sbc build of that over winter, idk though

way late on this video but Pop is way to cool. I see a t- shirt, Hoodie ect with " Captin Inferno" on it.... " YEP."
The 1 in the link is $130??
Idk, man. This video is like 2 or 3 years old now. There was a pandemic since this was filmed lol
Give a shout out SNIDER, today is my bday... your vids are awesome and entertaining. I have a 92 gmc 1500 myself.
BIRTH.

Can't get your spare tire in or out
I see you finerglassing the seams and painting that in the future
Check out the smd sunflash awesome stuff
You really overestimate my ambition lol
Shave it weld the roll pan to it
The bedside is fiberglass on the stepsides
That is a nice piece for the price. Cant wait to see it finally lowered. Im looking forward to it
Keep the vids comin obsquad
Lookin good I like 👌
Dale yes. What color u gonna paint it?
Paint? Never heard of her lol
Reminds me of my obs. Its begging to be dropped lol
You should do a giveaway for a LS1 efan conversion harness to me LMAO
I can mail you some wire I found if you want lol
Lmao sounds good, i can sell it to the scrap yard to help pay for the harness :)
It looks good and all but what really is the point? Is that it to make it look better? I mean its nice dont get me wrong but just seems kinda pointless, unless your like me and your bumper is dicked
The main point is looks. And, it saves probably 40 pounds.
SniderTron 3000 i see, do you think one could be bought that has better fitment? Like just a bolt on without the gaps ?
Maybe, but I'm not into throwing money around when if I really wanted it to look mint, I could spend a day on this and make it really good
SniderTron 3000 the reason i ask is bc i have an f150 im slowly making into a street truck and was jw, looks rad, but didn’t care for the unevenness but like you said in the video one could make it seamless, but i also don’t really care for that look as well.. maybe im too picky 🤷🏼♂️

They killed it RIGHT when they figured out how to make it good. The 1988 Fiero has a really, really good suspension
I can see them doing that. I like Pontiac
Sub'd to you Tylor Ray truck edition
Tyler Roy*
Ls swap that Fiero . Nice car though!
I'd like to do a 3800SC swap in it someday. But, that'll be after everything else is done and I have a bunch of extra cash burning a hole in my pocket haha
