    Daniil Trifonov, Encore : Claude Debussy Reflets dans l’eau
    de Images I
    In diesem Konzert spielte Trifonov auch die Transzendentalen Etüden con Liszt:
    Grandioser Höhepunkt des Konzertes sind die "Études d'exécution transcendante" von Franz Liszt. Diese zwölf Etüden zählen mit zum Schwersten, was die Klavierliteratur zu bieten hat, wer sich an sie heranwagt muss über eine Spieltechnik verfügen, die sämtliche mechanischen und klanglichen Beschränkungen des Klaviers überschreitet. Daniil Trifonov meistert sie mit unbeschreiblicher Souveränität, überragendem Ausdruck und wie auf einer höheren Bewusstseinsebene spielend - in einem transzendenten Konzert. 3sat

      The way he grasps the entirety of the piece to its core, bringing each and every note into context, all while not even having to think about potentially being limited by his technique… a true master of his art

    You know this guy is having the time of his life. Can you imagine having the talent, technique and repertoire this guy has. Must be a blast.

      @smb123211 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      But all that talent and technique was the result of extremely hard work. I was playing a few of the Etude Tableau the other night and my wife said, "Don't you wish you could play like Trifonov or Wang or Lugansky?" I said, "No because that would entail a lifetime of effort that I am not willing to expend."

    of note: this is the encore from the concert were he played ALL 12 of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes in one go. From memory. And then he had enough left in the tank to play this piece (which is not at all easy but it's child's play compared with Feux Follets or Mazeppa)

      My favorite performance of Trifonov is "Chasse Neige", but the greatest thing is his endurance. He can still play after all theses transcendal études !!!

    Nicht nur, dass dieses wundervolle Reflets dans l'eau sein Encore nach den 12 Etuedes transcendal von Listz gewesen waere, die Rosen auf der Buehne wurden nach Bach/Liszt und Beethoven 111 mit dem Der Konzertabend begann vom beglueckten Publikum auf die Buehne geworfen. Dies war ein legendaeres Rezital !

    Interprétation exceptionnelle de reflets dans l'eau. Quand la technique se met au service de la musique. C'est juste, poétique, précis, ses gestes son corps son regard dansent avec la musique. Il est comme habité et ne fait qu'un avec l’œuvre. Pour moi l'un des plus grands avec Evgeny Kissin et Arcadi Volodos

    I am sorry to say that I don't think Trifonov has yet to understand the necessary refinement of sound that Debussy requires. For a much more fully realized account of this piece, " Reflets dans l'eau " I strongly urge you to seek out here on TH-cam the exquisite performance by Marc-Andre Hamelin.

    • @shinyscales33
      @shinyscales33 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. The opening chord pattern felt a little rushed and heavy handed. He articulates the fast parts unbelievably well, but it just didn’t really feel like Debussy to me.

    It sounds like he never took his foot off the sustain pedal; not even once. If you listen to Marc-André Hamelin play this piece, it is is clearly, and beautifully heard. Not so here, and this muddles the entire performance. He spends too much energy in arm performance instead of concentrating on the pedals. The fact that this is such an enormously beautiful piece is mainly the reason why the audience responds so favorably. Trifonov still has much to learn.

    despite of my great respect and even admiration for Trifonov, I feel very boring his execution (too much difference of Tempo between slow and fast part, for example). Or maybe the extraterrestrial playing of ABM in this piece doesn't let me to express an opinion with serenity...
