Certainly no size fits all. Her plumbing, sanitary, bathing, drinking water is essentially a service of Walmart, so her roaming lifestyle can't take her far from their parking lots. Still, she's a plucky 73 year old woman.
The perfect video on this subject for me. Intelligent questions asked with a beautifully spoken voice and then answered by a really inspirational character. Bravo ladies, more power to you!!!
Retired from work @ 64. Exited Northen California leaving my home state due to all the chaos/traffic/crime/drugs/homelessness. Relocated to a small community here on the Oregon Coast. Amazing beaches, lakes, State Parks, whale watching etc. This small town is where I choose to live my final chapter in life in peace, everyone respects one another and their environment ! I would like to add there is bountiful things to see and do for FREE.
Hello! I love Oregon. could you tell us where it is you live? Do you know if they have low income senior housing. I would love to move there. I also escaped from California. I was born in Los Angeles. it is destroyed now.
Carol is very smart to stay minimalist in a way that requires the least amount of maintenance. If you are going to go simple, and are a senior, this sounds like the way to go. The most simple "toilet" facilities are great. Anything bigger than a small bucket takes up too much space when it is at a premium. Well done, Carol and Carol!

This woman is everything I imagine I would be like if I didn’t get into bus life until I am senior citizen. My mother never RV’d until she did it with me in her 60’s and having new and beautiful experiences later in life moved her to tears.
It is never too late to experience the joy of embracing new experiences. Sometimes beautiful experiences later in life are the sweetest. I hope you have many🙂
She’s a neat lady! Smart, too, she acted early enough to enjoy her life and gave herself time to get things ready for the greatest adventure of her life! Very inspired by her!
I just love her attitude! I've been wanting to live a nomad life for so long now. Mainly for financial reasons but I've been on this earth for 50 years and I haven't been able to see the things that I want to see. I was going to get a hightop van but right now I can't afford it but I do have a 2017 kia that I've thought about trading in for a minivan. I'm currently living in my son's unfinished basement because I'm helping him take care of my 6 month old granddaughter. It is a temporary situation and I'm trying to save some money so when the time comes I can finally live my dream. I was in tears watching this because one I was so happy for her but also I understand how she was living or I should say just existing. I will never give up on my dream. ❤🙏
Please DO NOT give up on your dream Michelle. You would be surprised at how dreams can manifest in your live if you don't give up. I wanted my van for years and years. I would drag my daughter to a nearby rv lot all the time and we would just sit in rvs and imagine where we were going. I finally saw a Bob Wells video which really was am encouragement and I started to put a plan together. Now I have my van and travel the country. It will happen for you too.
@@carolclover1238 I'm trying but I clean houses for a living and I've lost a couple because of financial reasons on their part and I have to be available to help take care of my granddaughter so my son can go to work. Believe me I'm trying to save money and keep it together.
So encouraging. I'm planning on buying a skoolie and my son is going to convert it for me. I'm 72, on social security but also still pet/house sit, and do house cleaning for 3 people. This does not give me enough money for a typical rental, and I have to be out of the place I'm in by Sept 1st '23. I am actually excited about it. I appreciate her minimalistic lean, and think she's a fantastic lady!
She was stuck and found a way to find freedom, pay her lifestyle, keep it simple, and enjoy life! Visiting others and she's now able to attend family functions. What a spunky sweet lady living life to HER fullest. When I grow up I want to be like this funky lady!!!
I've done it for a year and a half in a geo metro hatchback and $800 a month. No Jackery. No bucket. No shower. Just baby wipes and bottled water and McDonald's. Now I'm in an astro van for another year and a half, with a poop bucket and a jackery 300 battery. And still on $800, but now I eat Spanish cooked food once a day. $120 per month on gas. $75 per month insurance in Florida. I only eat one big meal per day and an occasional cheeseburger . I have no complaints. I fix my own van. Prayer and hard work. With God and faith with action, all things are possible.
Some Nomads are saving more money than regular retired people because they don't pay the exorbinate rents that are being asked....living in a vehicle can be managed...there is freedom and adventure..you meet alot of interesting people from all walks of life....Thank you Glorious Life On Wheels Wheels
I remember when you interviewed Carol the first time. So nice to see her again. Such a lovely lady, living life to the beat of her own drum! Good for her, happy to hear she is getting to visit with friends, loved ones and seeing all the wonderful things she wants. Wise words from Skoolie Carol, simplicity is key, life doesn't have to be complicated. You can live a lot with very little. Thank you for the update on Skoolie Carol.
What a fighter this woman is! Its inspiring to me her will to live. This is the new normal for our generation for many and should serve as a example of what not to do and what you should do ,because when your time comes, this will seem like the good times.
Fantastic. I live in a van and really agree with keeping it simple. Fridges, fancy toilet shower etc not necessary. A lovely cosy practical home can be created with only the necessities.
Back in the '70's I had a '51 international pickup, upon which I had a shell camper, I turned into my mobile home. I traveled until I was 50. Now I have a new truck and am about to buy an Arctic Fox camper. I'm 68. My future dream house is a tiny air stream or step van. We have a tiny house in the woods we use as home base.
Good interview Carol. Greetings from Australia. I'm 75 and have a very minimalist sprinter and can drive away and live in it at any time alone. I recommend the lifestyle anytime to anyone who finds it difficult to stay still and just exist. Basic stuff with no maintenance costs is a great way to go. Once you get your priorities right, it's so easy.
Thanks to both Carol's. This really helped me. I had to sell my car so I could stay in my trailer. Since I am a new widow, I won't make a major decision in the 1st year. But this seems doable. I love her commitment to minimalist simplicity. I would do it the same way. Thanks ladies! Loved this.
Hello Nikki, I think waiting a year to make any major decisions is a very wise decision. I have a part 2 coming out to this video in which Carol shares her monthly budget. I think it will be helpful to you. Take care💜
Last comment because am starting to investigate and go forward with this. Have looked into class B vehicles. 🌷So if one wanted a class B vehicle B - number one I'd better have some money saved - have to have good credit if one is going to finance it and for older vehicles they are requiring more money down on these class B vehicles. One better have some money saved if that rig breaks down.🌷 The rig maybe have enough maintenance that it can live stationary in a small area but is it going to make it halfway across the country back and forth. 🌷 These things all take money. Maybe some people get help from donations from doing TH-cam videos but the bottom line is it takes money. To get that rig. 🌷 👍 And yes once a person has a good running vehicle and savings if it breaks down one could do a lot of visiting and a lot of exploring in a lot of adventures! 💅💅💅👍👍👍 And yes not having to work all the time what a blessing. Thank you again for wonderful Carol and you doing this video. 🌷
Carol is a true go getter . She gives people in our situation the will to do it. I have been looking around my place and I have right now everything I need to be able to go into a van or short bus believe it or not I will be very comfortable in it . if I wanted to live full time just by using dressers that I have kitchen stuff I have the butane gas stoves from when I was catering that I can use so I have decided that once I sell the big bus I'm going to get me a comfortable van or short bus and I'm going to have a friend I've already talked to help me build out whatever little bed I need seeing that I'll probably have a recliner in there to sleep and sit in because of my back . I'm also thinking about getting a couple of those heavy duty magnets and heavy duty hammocks and if somebody comes to visit and wanna stay over I'll hang the hammocks from the roof and they can sleep on the hammocks instead of a bed basically you just created but then the rest of my stuff I'm gonna sell or give away. I have already made arrangements with my landlord she's not going to rent out the apartment that I'm living in in the basement so I'm going to keep this for now as a temporary home base. I have made arrangements with her to pay a certain amount when I'm here in a certain amount when I'm on the road that will help in my living budget arrangements. I am thinking more stronger about all of this because of you and your channel the people that I've met on this channel and your glorious help. God bless you & give you everything you need and also bless the people and give them all they need . Sorry for the long comment sending a big Santa hug. I did it with 800 a month on ssi with a newborn in San Diego California it doesn’t get that cold here. I went to food banks to get are food. We also went to places who feed homeless people they allow you to take showers at the church and people donate clothes so all I have to pay is my storage shed and buy some meat we put in are cooler with ice in it so I can keep my milk cold to. and gas and baby diapers. you can do it if I can with a newborn.

Scooly Carol has the right attitude, a minimal lifestyle is the best. A person only needs the basics. I'm finding out that l need less and less than what l came out with 1 year ago. (Dec.2,2020.) I'm happier with less. I would love to meet Scooly Carol.
Most people with a great life never want to give up that life style.. Only when pushed thee other way do they come to find they don't need half the junk they already got.
I would love for my husband and I to do this but...... I can’t bring myself to let go of our sticks and bricks. I had a total hip replacement in September and I couldn’t imagine how I would have managed it living this way, Hubby and I are both 63 and on disability and unfortunately we can’t afford to keep both our home and manage a vehicle that we could do this in so I live vicariously through all the nomads on TH-cam.
Traveling and meeting new people really does add joy to my life, even on a part time basis. On your situation perhaps an option would be to occasionally go out for a few days or even a week or so. One big help to me is the senior America the Beautiful pass, which is life time for seniors for $80. It allows me free entrance into National Parks and also gives half off discounts to camping at various locations such as National Parks and Forests as well as Corps of Engineer sites. Last summer I camped for $7.50 at a beautiful campground with waterfalls. Take care and thanks so much for stopping by.
what a fabulous lady!! love her expressions and I love how you, Carol , are so thoughtful , gentle and caring , with your questions , and your style .. enjoyed this tremendously!!! ❤️❤️👍👍
Carol, your an inspiration to me. If I become a widow, I know I will only barely be able to live in my home, even though it's paid off. I've thought about going into the nomadic life, even though I'm 70 years old. I think being able to go do whatever I want sounds awesome!! Bless you in your travels.
It really is a shame how seniors are being forced out of their family homes that are paid off due to insane property taxes. The good news is having a paid off home gives you options. You could rent your house out while trying out van life. You could sell it and buy an rv and travel as much or as little as you want. I wish you well whatever you choose should you face those decosions.
@@grandmabear2840 I've had our daughter and her 2 children in our basement for the past 11 years. I'd rather hang myself than to deal with that much more drama!!!!!!!!!! Plus, I'd rather be on the road!!
👍Totally concur with her about the maintenance of a toilet. Everyone is different on the subject. The Laveo toilet is $600 - it runs on cartridges. And there is no mess. No dumping. One is not throwing out compost or trying to dump sewer illegally. One dumps the cartridges. The cartridges are a bit expensive. It comes to about a dollar a flush - but along with possibly a big bucket that many people use it also is a possible alternative idea. 🙏
I am about to be living in my Suv in a few days because rent as a single woman in Canada where i live is outrageous and i wanted to save money and this lady just made my day and was super inspiring 💯♥️🤘🥰

Another great video Carol. I can't wait to watch Carol's budget video. Glow Carol these interviews demonstrate that you are the best interviewer of nomads. You ask inquisitive, non- judgmental questions. Please keep up the great work.
I agree with the toilet issue. I have a porta potty and use bags inside because don’t know where I would dump it. It takes up a lot of room in my mini van. I am just getting it ready to hit the road in April. At 70 the main thing I would have rethought is the mini van and at least get a full size cargo. It is difficult to get in the back as there is not enough head room and you are on your knees a lot. So don’t make my mistake. I will only be on the road for up to three months at a time. It is the only way I can visit family and friends and if I do decide to go full time I would sell this and get a full size van. I live on Social Security and get help with rent thru HUD and so not ready to give up my apt quite yet, mostly due to health issues. This is my third van and I missed it so much and now have one. Yah! 🎄💕🌹🐻
Super hurrah for you getting another van and traveling for three months. That is a wonderful way to enjoy the road. You now know exactly what you will need should you ever decide to go full time
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 yes the three months is only due to getting prescriptions refilled every three months so get home ,get prescriptions and get ready for winter Arizona lololo.
I used a cooler with ice for the first year. Doable, but then I got a Domestic chest fridge and it is so much better. Efficient on the solar, and quiet.
Carol, of all the people who interview people who do vanlife etc, you are my absolute favorite. You have a way of speaking that allows the person to truly open up. Your nonjudgmental calming approach to everyone is so inspirational. You honestly could be on TV. Better than Barbara Walters..Diane Sawyer etc. in my humble opinion. Awesome work! Much appreciated.
when I was forced to live in my suv with 3 cats, it was a daunting task. No electricity, running water, showers, cooking stoves, it was roughing it pretty much to the max. I was in my car in temps of 10 degrees, lived on 400.00 a month, I bought ready to eat food at dollar tree, occasionally jack in the box, still love those 2 for a dollar tacos. lol. I learned how little I needed to survive, which sadly didn't include my cats much longer as I had to give them up. Nobody wanted them, in the heat, the temps were horrible with no a/c, it was sad. but I still had to keep going. I slept in the front seat in a recline position ready to go if need be. Its amazing what you figure out when you have to. I appreciate her video as it is realistic. You do what you have to do. I used gas stations to go to the bathroom, washed my hair in sinks in outhouses in parks. I showered at truck stops. You do what you have to do.

Thank you James. Would.love for you to join in on our GLOW Lives in Saturdays at 3pm pst 6pm est
Fantastic interview, Carol. Thank you so much for taking the time to find and help these seniors.
Carol, I'm going to get back on my feet, get a vehicle, and one day, I'll be able to come and thank you in person for all your wonderful work and encouragement you've given to me and others :)
I look forward to that Petunia. It will be my pleasure to meet you.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621, Carol, hi there :) I sent you a reply email on the 9th but I don't think you received it, so I just resent it. Please let me know if you get it. Since that email, things have developed that I think are going to work out and help me get back on my feet again in 2022. When I hear back from you in the email, I'll write to you and tell you my idea and I may also include the HOWA email b/c I'm going to need someone that's willing to help. I look forward to discussing my situation further and getting advice from you and the HOWA as I move forward.
I hope you have many🙂
I really love her bus!❤❤❤
It.is.pretty cool. A hippie psychedelic throwback🤣
She’s a neat lady! Smart, too, she acted early enough to enjoy her life and gave herself time to get things ready for the greatest adventure of her life! Very inspired by her!
Thank you both for a clear, honest, no BS interview. That’s the way I like them.
I like the simplicity and less stress ❤️. Many of these ladies gather in little groups and look after each other ❤️
I just love her attitude!
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 thank you so much for the words of encouragement! ❤
If youre, living in basement..you should be able to Stash away some money
@@carolclover1238 I'm trying but I clean houses for a living and I've lost a couple because of financial reasons on their part and I have to be available to help take care of my granddaughter so my son can go to work. Believe me I'm trying to save money and keep it together.
Thnx..youre Awesomr
Her facial expressions are hilarious! Love her spirit and her approach!😊
Carol doesn't see obstacles like most people. She sees opportunities. Carol is such a wonderful example of someone who lives life to the fullest.
I thought the same thing.
What a sweet lady! Carol is rocking her life and living it her way!
She sure is🙂
She was stuck and found a way to find freedom, pay her lifestyle, keep it simple, and enjoy life! Visiting others and she's now able to attend family functions. What a spunky sweet lady living life to HER fullest. When I grow up I want to be like this funky lady!!!
Couldn't agree more!!
With determination and faith much can be accomplished.
So Awesome. FREEDOM!!!
I like carol’s set up.

Her van looks nice and cozy, beautiful colors.
love you Carol..... you are an amazing woman....
Good luck Carol. 👍
Hello 👋how are you doing?

Good interview Carol. Greetings from Australia. I'm 75 and have a very minimalist sprinter and can drive away and live in it at any time alone. I recommend the lifestyle anytime to anyone who finds it difficult to stay still and just exist. Basic stuff with no maintenance costs is a great way to go. Once you get your priorities right, it's so easy.
That makes so.much sense,. Once you get your priorities right everything else falls into place.
Sending this beautiful woman love and safety. It’s terrible that rents are so high.
Thanks to both Carol's. This really helped me. I had to sell my car so I could stay in my trailer. Since I am a new widow, I won't make a major decision in the 1st year. But this seems doable. I love her commitment to minimalist simplicity. I would do it the same way. Thanks ladies! Loved this.
Hello Nikki,
I think waiting a year to make any major decisions is a very wise decision. I have a part 2 coming out to this video in which Carol shares her monthly budget. I think it will be helpful to you. Take care💜
How are u?
👍 And yes once a person has a good running vehicle and savings if it breaks down one could do a lot of visiting and a lot of exploring in a lot of adventures! 💅💅💅👍👍👍
And yes not having to work all the time what a blessing. Thank you again for wonderful Carol and you doing this video. 🌷
Thank you for SHARING!
Merry Christmas🎄 as always stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless and enjoy life🌻✌💖💪👨🍳🎅🚌👍
Carol is amazing, funny and inspirational. Lots of good tips thanks. Also I like how she downsized.. Keep on being you..
Wow. You truly are a shero. If you would like to share more about your experience I think it could be a great help to others. I can be reached @ gloriouslifeonwheels@gmail.com

Great Interview you ask all the right questions
Scooly Carol has the right attitude, a minimal lifestyle is the best. A person only needs the basics. I'm finding out that l need less and less than what l came out with 1 year ago. (Dec.2,2020.) I'm happier with less. I would love to meet Scooly Carol.
Hopefully you'll make it to Quartzsite this winter and we can all go out to lunch together. 🥰
Most people with a great life never want to give up that life style.. Only when pushed thee other way do they come to find they don't need half the junk they already got.
You’ve done it again my friend!!! Great interview. Two wonderful Carols♥️🐞♥️
Thank you dear lady. Skoolie Carol is one of my favorite nomads ever!!
Maybe you could rent out your home seasonally or for a year to see if you enjoy the nomad life?
Traveling and meeting new people really does add joy to my life, even on a part time basis. On your situation perhaps an option would be to occasionally go out for a few days or even a week or so. One big help to me is the senior America the Beautiful pass, which is life time for seniors for $80. It allows me free entrance into National Parks and also gives half off discounts to camping at various locations such as National Parks and Forests as well as Corps of Engineer sites. Last summer I camped for $7.50 at a beautiful campground with waterfalls. Take care and thanks so much for stopping by.
Home is Nice. She didn’t have that option
Beautiful 🥰 Skoolie Carol! I'm glad you're enjoying this

Thanks so much my friend. 💜💚💛 It has been a crazy week, but I will be calling you by the end of the week.

Wise woman... love her attitude. Debt can be as crippling as rent. Getting away from eating out and becoming a minimalist is very good advice.
Debt is definitely a huge weight to carry around!!
Going out to dine makes special.oc.s better. We need that .
I rented out a room in my house and it helps
@@grandmabear2840 I've had our daughter and her 2 children in our basement for the past 11 years. I'd rather hang myself than to deal with that much more drama!!!!!!!!!! Plus, I'd rather be on the road!!

I loved your bus 🚌 and the reco.
Wow. This is me. Stuck. I’m doing this in spring.
Hope all your dreams come true.😊
Wow God help her... love her attitude, I agree have what you need. Period
Very nice minimalist set up. She seems happy
I love her ❤️
👍Totally concur with her about the maintenance of a toilet. 🙏
No mess until it doesn't work. And that's more common than not...
Beautiful person ❤

💜💙💚Thank you so much David for your words of encouragement. The budget video is now up.
Wow I feel you. That's how am feeling now
I agree with the toilet issue.

Carol, of all the people who interview people who do vanlife etc, you are my absolute favorite. You have a way of speaking that allows the person to truly open up. I LOVE this!!!
Cute and cozy.
when I was forced to live in my suv with 3 cats, it was a daunting task.
This looks like a fabulous place to live! I would love the Nomad life. I am going to do it one day in my life. Freedom is something no one can ever take away from you! God Bless you! I am so jealous!
