- Before I use him in a "Versus Series" episode, I wanted to make sure I gave all my viewers the change to experience one of the most harrowing stories of the the classic Star Wars Expanded Universe (Legends timeline). Come and hear the story of the Jedi Knight who became a Tusken Raider. The Jedi whose son became the Dread Lord of the One Sith regime. The Howlrunner...the Hound of Worlds the Padawan of Eeth Koth...the Legend...Sharad Hett!

I have discovered this late in the game, but this was magnificent. Your commentary at the end give the perfect explanation of what the Disney SW has lost, and what Lucas seemed to forget: these are stories about people with feelings, goals, hopes and dreams. I only with you could do more...

Well damn. That was excellent; great editing, writing, and of course voice work. This only makes it further evident how painfully tragic A'Sharad's fall to the dark side really was.
I really hope the new canon steps its game up soon, nothing has even come close to the sort of mythos the EU had created. I can't help but to be a bit scared for the future of SW storytelling.

Love the hett story how it’s such a big part of the skywalker legacy and how it brought out amazing characters like Cade skywalker, Darth talon, all the other one siths, Delilah blue and Cade’s other friends and gives eeth koth some glory and ki adi mundi even aura siing and the hutts

Wow what a fantastic profile of Sharad Hett, that truly was beautiful to listen to and watch. I enjoyed every minute of it and despite Outlander being one of my favourite stories, I have not read it in over 10 years and completely forgot all about Sharad's struggle on tatooine before being accepted by the Tusken Raiders. I must find a copy of Outlander and read it again. Thank you for such an in depth account of one of star wars' many obscure but legendary characters. I look forward to seeing Sharad Hett in a versus video. :-)

It had such complex characters and riveting story lines that can never be replicated in this new canon. I have watched this so many times, and will keep doing so, simply because I just cannot immerse myself enough in this loveable story, told by a voice that ensnares the listener and compells to listen to the magic of your eloquent and atmospheric storytelling. I hope that should Disney ever make a decent movie in this Universe, that they employ you as its narrator. You have a gift. Please keep using it !

You know, the character profiles on this site have never really interested me. Until this one came along. This profile is the profile that all others should aspire to be like, a love letter to a character. Well done Sir, well done.
The videos take long, but they are EXCELENT. Some real tears had been shed here, my friend. The wondrous works which can be drawn from the universe of SW continues to amaze me. It is of a particular greatness and great significance to me, as a man and a human being. It encapsules most of my conflicts and reminds me of the good care of my father.

You know, you were always my favorite Star Wars profile on TH-cam. This video reminded me why.
Just read Outlander again, it’s quite poetic how similar yet drastically different at the same time Sharad Hett and Anakin Skywalker were.
Sharad lost his family and questions what use is a Jedi’s power if he cannot even protect his own family.
Anakin Skywalker lost his family, lost everything, because of his blind quest for power beyond that offered by the Jedi.
Sharad felt the call of the dark side as his power grew and turned away from it. Anakin Skywalker had but a sip of its power and he became addicted; the clone wars became a screen behind which Skywalker fed upon the dark side and thus was unable to turn away or give it up when the Sith lay forth a chalice of all the power that the dark side promised.
Sharad Hett was the hero that Anakin would have done well to emulate and perhaps the life he had dreamed of could have been his.
This video is art. I watch it some times when I feel down. Always cheers me up. Thank you.

Sharad Hett never really intrigued me as a character which is odd considering his son is one of my favorite Sith Lords. But your narration, brings him to life makes me reconsider my thoughts on the character your narrations crafts his story into a masterpiece. Your voice, choice of words and music is brilliant. You take one character and show just how vast the lore and connected, Star Wars EU really is and one of the main reasons why I am huge fan of the EU. I know everyone says these kind of statements, but it needs to be stated. I always look forward to your future work. Also for a match, Nomi Sunrider vs Darth Sion? I know Sion cant be killed, but what if you use Sever Force on him? He is a corpse held together by the force, without it he kinda falls apart.

Krayt is one of my favorite characters in the old EU and I am so happy you did the story of his father and showing why Krayt fell to the dark side. In my opinion Krayt was a good person, but he was broken as much as a person can be broken. Thank you for pointing that out, this was a great video.
plus, it was Obi-Wan sticking his nose in when asharad hett was fighting for his people, and had to cut his arm off and exiled him after he forcibly peeled hett's mask off.
+Darrel Smith True, but not necessarily that simple. Hett was planning to make war with the Empire during that time of his life and Obi-wan was concerned he would lose himself in the process. Also, the sandpeople under A'sharad's command were beginning to encroach upon the territory where Luke was being hidden. Obi-wan didn't interfere without reason.
+GreyJedi91 Well Hett was, for lack of a better word, bad shit crazy when he was making that army of Sand People and getting beat sobered him up a bit. But someone made a comment that this is 2 Lords of The Sith Obi Wan let loos upon the galaxy. Its funny, but a little bit true. I have to ask, of topic I know, but why do you not like Kylo Ren? I am curious and, sorry, but I did not understand your reasons.
+Darrel Smith I love Krayt, but, to be fair, Krayt was crazy as fuck while he was making that army and Obi Wan had his reasons. It was not just him getting beat by Obi Wan that made Krayt embrace the Dark Side, it was one of the reasons.

Wow! You've made this Character Profile into something of a biography for a great general, using relevant background stories that link to the main one. As if it were a chapter book.
I especially liked the way you used the screenshot of Aurra Sing for the words "among other things." Helps foreshadow Sharad Hett's fate.
If you ask me, _The Phantom Menace_ helps as a prelude to _Outlander_. With bad guys such as Jabba, Bib Fortuna, Gardulla, and Aurra Sing still on Tatooine after the events of _Episode I_, they turn the wheels of this world's fate for decades to come.
+DarthWill3 Hey thanks so much! I agree, The Phantom Menace is a good introduction for this story. I don't even despise The Phantom Menace quite as much as I might have let on. It's just kind of boring to me...and then there's Jar Jar of course. But it has some merit, and the story of Sharad Hett (which I obviously love) wouldn't exist if not for The Phantom Menace. Which can be said for the vast majority of my favorite EU stories. As much as I think the Prequels were underwhelming in an overall sense, I wouldn't have a lot of my favorite works without them.

i like the fact that the story gives insight into the tusken raiders pov. I never liked the fact that they were simply seen as inhuman monsters. its often ourselves that become the monsters by degrading other races.
cadaverdoggy When I played Knights of the Old Republic and learned their story, I stopped thinking of them as just the savages we see them portrayed as in the movies and more as a struggling nation that had been pushed by invaders most of their history.
