When he says he's a Mockingbird with a microphone right before the transition, you can hear the frustration in his voice with the country music scene.

The symbolism behind this song is genius, and is so very well written. I've never really listened to Hardy, and this song has become one of my favorites overnight. I've always been a rocker, from classic to metal, but some country is kind of growing on me. I can get behind this, it's almost like a whole new genre. And he does it so seamlessly and effortlessly. Starting with how he grew up and got into the music industry, writing hit songs for other popular artists, but never has been able to have his own voice or style. He was a mockingbird, writing others songs. But he finally got a microphone, and he will not conform, even if that makes him unpopular. I have a newfound respect for this man as a musician and an artist. Not to mention, that claymation in the music video is badass. I look forward to discovering more of his music. Rock on!

The album drops in two weeks - can't wait to hear both "sides". "the mockingbird & THE CROW" is the song right in the middle to separate his country side and rock side.

For those who don’t know, hardy is a country and rock singer. In the album, which is also called mockingbird and the crow, he does half country and half rock, and this song is the switch between the 2

Please forgive me, I over analyze everything -- but I absolutely love this song--and I always appreciate your perspective. But, this song... the two genres together-- you mentioned the fanbases being loyal-- I took this as another artist attempting to unite us by our common language--- music. He is an awesome lyricist -- You should see him in concert this year -- thanks for spending time with us!

Dude, love your reaction! Can’t wait to see more! It’s a little slower but Hardy A Rock is pretty well written and preformed.

Oh hell yeah that was so bad ass indeed and loved how he was able to flip that switch from country to rock so seamless because of his amazing talent as a writer and musician and the line about tell that to 25,000 rednecks was so awesome
