    Comparing the TX films, THICC, and Deskeys films only have subtle sound differences and it was hard for me to tell most of the time which is which. Easier for me to tell which is kebo sometimes but not all the time. Its awesome that you did a blind test. A lot of the sound tests I heard that didn't have a blind test so I was trapped into bias and confirmation. Thank you for this

    • @keybonbon

      Thanks for the suggestion! it's tricky making useful sound test on YT videos, I think a much better model is something like kbcompare.com, where you can rapidly go back and forth between the different options at your own pace. I want to keep adding features to the site to make it more useful / easier for these types of tests. Here's the link to the sound test for this video: kbcompare.com/jcjC3g/start

    I could constantly tell which one was my favorite, and my goto film from now on will be the Deskeys film. I still have some TXfilms left, but every time I tested it was the worst sounding one for me. Well, it is still way better than nothing(especially on JWK switches).

    this is a great video - I have to say though that I can barely tell the difference between the 4 different films, even with the blind comparison. Kebo: Got the sharpest clicky sound in these film list
    TX: Most balanced film with all of these film advantages, TX got a little crunchy clicky sound as Kebo also with deeper sound
    THICC film: Same goes with her name, really THICC clicky typing sound but not annoying as Kebo (well maybe a little)
    Deskys: Having the deepest typing sound and reduced the crunchy clicky "noise", If you've got a gateron black ink v2 switch then I'll recommended it

    I'm unclear on which switches benefit most from adding films? I know everyone says to add them to linear switches but do they also benefit tactile and clicky switches? Are there some that one shouldn't add films too? Like would they benefit Jades or Navys? Or Browns?

    • @keybonbon
      @keybonbon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’ll all come down to whether or not the switch has housing wobble (meaning the top and bottom housings move around when you hit the switch). That movement produces an unpleasant crunch, similar to a soft click. I film pretty much all linears and tactiles except those that don’t fit them (such as creams or holy pandas). As for clicky ive never thought to film them since the click noise overpowers any noise coming from housing wobble

    • @keybonbon
      @keybonbon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't really notice a significant feel difference between the four, but it would make sense that thicc and TX would be the "stiffest" while Kebo and Deskeys have more wiggle room (kebo because it's thin, and deskeys because it's very flexible). I think you'd like Deskeys

    Does the down or upstroke feel slightly mushier with the deskey films? Because they're made out of rubber...

    • @keybonbon
      @keybonbon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope I don’t notice any mushiness- the top and bottom housing compress it to the point where it can’t really be compressed much anymore
