I have watched this countless times now. Easily one of the greatest Dave Grohl tributes I have ever seen. You obviously have an extensive knowledge of his catalog and acute understanding of his style, even down to the small details like playing with the butt of the stick. This medley is impeccably assembled and your playing is immaculate and energetic. Love this and it deserves much more attention!

Instructors made a gang of fun of me for it, but I knew they were tripping because it was so fun to look at. How would you not get attention and stand out? So, I just embraced playing weird. The hi-hat stand being so high made sense to me because I needed space for the snare ya know? The butt of the stick thing was just for this video cause it felt appropriate but my hands were more red than a bull’s uniform after🤣. I appreciate everything you just broke down! You really WATCHED it, so you’re a GAWD.

Even if the kit is literaly the same as dave's! And I have studied his drumming for a while. I still need to improve a lot of course, as always. But you really did an awesome job! I mean, really awesome! You captured his style so perfectly! The energy, the power, the triplets, the crunchy flam, the snare fills with the kick on the upbeat. This is so awesome! Congratulations indeed!! I have 2 questions: which other songs on TINLTL you think it's dave on drums besides Learn To Fly? I would go for Stacked Actors, Breakout, Gimme Stitches and Next Year hahaha. And the second question: what's up with St Cecilia? hahaha I know that in Subterranean he played the cymbals but I have no clue about him playing drums on St Cecilia hahah. Thanks man, and again, congrats for your drumming! It's top notch!!
Thanks gang. Every snare is different so the sweet spot for specific drum is the wave. Top head medium tune. Bottom head very high tuning. You’ll get a good base there. Toms are the same idea it’s just that it takes more time to find a sweet spot between both heads since you really can hear a note.

I’m going to keep it 400 with you. I am a novice at drum tuning, but I tuned the snare bottom head super tight, and then have the top head at medium tuning! I didn’t choose a note or anything like that. I also added some moon gel type material to the top of the snare to get that ring outta there. The toms are similar, but I tape the bottom heads on either side of the drum head, to keep them from ringing. The top heads are all medium to low tuning. I appreciate your words my G! Let me know if that helped you out!
@@bluemcdaniel99 The tuning sounds Bonhamesque, aside from you dampening the kit which funnily enough evolves the sound into a more Grohlesque one. I'm more impressed with however you mixed these drums. They sound meaty as fuck.
