Sonic 3 and Knuckles was released in 94. Before Sonic the Hedgehog, the Jetzons separated and Brad became the musical director for Micheal Jackson. Do you know who is said to have worked with Sega on the soundtrack for sonic 3? Micheal Jackson.

Then, a few years later, when I was a senior in college, I thought I experienced the "happiest day of my life." Ironically enough, I was also experiencing some "hard times" due to added stress-related events occurring in the same year. Eventually, I accepted the fact that I have Schizophrenia and that I will be plagued by a variety of issues that remind me that despite my past failures, I am now successful. "Hard Times" by The Jetzons captures that essence of finding *the happiest days* in life despite all the depressing things we see these days.

I believe they could if they wanted to. They've been re-releasing Sonic 1 & 2 for years now even though Sega does not own the rights to those soundtracks (the composer of those games, Masato Nakamura, does).

It's quite easy to tell which tracks he worked on. Ice Cap zone and after, as well as the Act 1 Boss music. I can understand how people can get confused though, as overall, S3's soundtrack had a definite New Jack Swing style to it.
Indeed, people forget the other seven composers who also worked on the game. Several of them also worked with Jackson on the "Ghost" video he made. Doesn't help the information is still pretty muddled because you have Buxer say yes Jackson worked on the game but that he had no idea how much if anything remained, Roger Hector says Jackson was dropped over the sex allegations and Buxer said Jackson wasn't satisfied and the legal teams of each refuse to make it clear which is the truth.
Sonic 3's game development history is so crazy and interesting. Really love that some obscure unreleased song from 1981 ended up being repurposed into Ice Cap Zone's music.
Ice Cap is literally an instrumental version of Hard Times for the Genesis, hell this isn't even the only track in Sonic 3 to do this, there are quite a few tracks that are straight up Michael Jackson stuff. So of course they'd fit together, THEY'RE LITERALLY THE SAME SONG.

Y'know, we all know about the Michael Jackson connection to Sonic 3, but there's another thread connecting him to Sonic 3 AND The Jetzons. Specifically, the keyboard player of The Jetzons, one Brad Buxer, ended up working with Michael Jackson on the Sonic 3 soundtrack. For all we know, that was probably the catalyst for Hard Times becoming the theme for Ice Cap Zone.

It's not that it inspired it.... as the song wasn't even release officially in it's original form yet.... it's that Ice Cap IS LITERALLY HARD TIMES ADPATED FOR THE SEGA GENESIS, one of the guys who worked on the OST for Sonic 3 was among the people who made the original song. It's no different than when they made a genesis version of Smooth Criminal for Moonwalker.
Note: They didnt reuse this for origins cause they didnt get the rights to use it. so they went with bringing the peppy, happier-sounding prototype soundtracks for ice cap.

En parte brad uso el sonar de hard time para hacer el de smoth criminal pero lo hizo de tal forma que es difil encontrar la similitud por eso en cierta parte ica cap zone tambien suena como smoth criminal mencionar que michael le pidio ayuda a brad para hacer el ost del sonic 3 supongo que michael y brad decidieron usar el sonar de hard time para hacer el tema de la zona solo que a dieferencia de smoth criminal no maquillaron el sonar para que no suene tan similar en cierta parte tambien por que michael quiso que el ost sonara tan similar a sus canciones :v

They're teh same song, Ice Cap was actually based off of Hard Times, it's basically a Genesis instrumental version of it.

Now this song will remind me of having to leave my love in Spain back to America because of an error in the immigration papers. I came back to nothing: no home, job, anything. I had to sleep out on the streets for three months while I worked two jobs to not only get back to her, but to also provide for her when I get back. Now as time gets closer I find out that my kidneys are failing and possible cancer. Hard times, it is.

Y'know, we all know about the Michael Jackson connection to Sonic 3, but there's another thread connecting him to Sonic 3 AND The Jetzons. Specifically, the keyboard player of The Jetzons, one Brad Buxer, ended up working with Michael Jackson on the Sonic 3 soundtrack. For all we know, that was probably the catalyst for Hard Times becoming the theme for Ice Cap Zone.

Both Hard Times and Ice Cap were composed by one Brad Buxer of The Jetzons. He most likely found the tape of unreleased songs and handed it to SEGA.

It's not that it inspired it.... as the song wasn't even release officially in it's original form yet.... it's that Ice Cap IS LITERALLY HARD TIMES ADPATED FOR THE SEGA GENESIS, one of the guys who worked on the OST for Sonic 3 was among the people who made the original song. It's no different than when they made a genesis version of Smooth Criminal for Moonwalker.

@@CuriousGuy_ Obvio que hay diferencias, pero la composición base es la misma y de hecho fue arreglada por el mismo compositor, que al mismo tiempo era la mano derecha de Michael Jackson por entonces, quien sí participó pero no quiso salir en los créditos
En parte brad uso el sonar de hard time para hacer el de smoth criminal pero lo hizo de tal forma que es difil encontrar la similitud por eso en cierta parte ica cap zone tambien suena como smoth criminal mencionar que michael le pidio ayuda a brad para hacer el ost del sonic 3 supongo que michael y brad decidieron usar el sonar de hard time para hacer el tema de la zona solo que a dieferencia de smoth criminal no maquillaron el sonar para que no suene tan similar en cierta parte tambien por que michael quiso que el ost sonara tan similar a sus canciones :v
