Like others are saying I’ve also caught more bass on the Yamamoto senkos than anything else I’ve ever used, if I Wacky rig them then I’m almost guaranteed to catch something. I went on a fishing trip in Maine a while back and went to this little bait shop in the middle of nowhere and the guy who ran it showed me how to wacky rig, I thought it was stupid because the action doesn’t look like anything realistic to me but I did it anyways and I’m glad I did I catch bass every year using this bait with that method

Too water fishing is my number one but if they aren’t hitting any top water my first choice will be a senko or other stick bait. It produces fish like no other bait. Tactical bassin channel has some very interesting ways to modify the stick bait to get more bites as well. One last tip! Don’t throw away a used worm that is tore up! Cut the worm in half and use a ned rig. Works just as good and will get the big and small fish.

You don't know who Gary Yamamoto is? Are you new to bass fishing? He's Gary Yamamoto man, the creator of the most widely used, most popular, most successful lure in decades- the senko. He fished competitively as well, won several big tournaments I think- but I know him because of the senko, the swim senko, the zako, his double tail grubs, the Ika, etc. You should try more of his stuff- it all works.

Its funny hearing that "drop shotting" was introduced to the US by Japanese fishermen in the mid 90s. I was taught the exact rigging in the early 80s when I was first fishing. People have been rigging that here for many decades before the 90s. Its actually quite common for bank fishing for catfish. I literally can throw a rock in Wheeler from my back yard and am within a couple of hours from Lake Guntersville and Eufaula lol. It wasn't some Japanese secret.

I’ve seen trash fish babies (sucker? Carp? ?) that covered every square inch of a small perc pond. The had dark backs and translucent belly’s making them appear long & skinny. Instinctively, they would lay perfectly still on the bottom to avoid predation. Intermittently, they would move to eat something floating nearby before settling back on the bottom laying perfectly still again. As their numbers diminished from predation they quickly grew to about 4” long the last I had seen them.
I believe the Senko mimics the various trash fish in every body of water. On the bottom they stand out just by laying there perfectly straight.

    • @joshuagibson2520

@@joshuagibson2520 Percolation Ponds. They’re square man made ponds that are along the creek to retain water so it can seep in the underground water table, instead of just flowing down out into the bay. There are sixteen ponds in a row and I’ve fished them since I was a kid. l know them all like the back of my hand.
About 5 or 6 years ago the water district (city) drained them one by one and buried all the fish alive and they’ve been empty since.
Recently they just announced a water shortage due to a drought, but by keeping these ponds drained they’re causing the water shortage.
California is so corrupt. They’re stealing all the water and land that they can right now. It’s crazy.
