I can't get enough of this song! But seriously, we have all been there, haven't we? Honestly, how many people are out there just trying to keep things under wraps just to avoid being sued? Thank you Paul Thorn for being a voice for all of these people.
Good day everyone, I had a very tough year in 2016 and wanted to beat the world up. I found this song and felt the weight of the world off my shoulders. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. thank you so much for putting this song out for public view. I sincerely hope Sony music picks this song up and makes you a fortune. God bless you and have a great day.
My pops just introduced me to Paul Thorn today. I've been replaying his songs for the past hour and a half now. This is one of my favorites. His music has so much soul. God Damn that sounds good!
In the last 3 months, my wife left me, my dog got run over by a pick-up truck and the guy who rear-ended my car last week doesn't have a driver's license, insurance or a command of the English language. I was listening to this song on the way to the gym yesterday where I punched the heavy bag for 20 minutes and, for reasons I can't explain, it really lifted my spirits. On my way home I stopped for gas and saw some teenage miscreant arguing with some little old lady about who got to the gas pump first. I told the kid to back off and he must have heard the song playing in the background again on my car's CD player because he left in a hurry. I pumped the lady's gas, went on my way, and felt great for the rest of the day. Thanks Mr. Thorn.Great music..
sorry to hear that my dogs got ran over ones died the other is hurt. damn vet messed her leg up and had to have a second vet do the job right now I owe two vets
This is me & my dad in this photo - Dad would love this song if he were still here. I am retired but this is a good day to remember those days!!! Good one..
Paul thorn is one of my favorite song writers. Hammer and nail is straight up top notch and ain't love strange was a huge part of my life. Got me through some of the hardest years of my life
my grandad sings this song all the time, i remember hearing it for the first time when i was really little. Me and my mom and him always take turns singing different verses in the truck
I always hated that stupid alien vid of this song but to hear the real thing sang by Paul Thorn, you realize what a fantastic song this is and how talented of a singer, songwriter and guitar player Paul actually is. GREAT TUNE
it is those giggling dj's that made this get 2 million views....otherwise most of us would have never heard of this guy or his song...ask Paul how he feels about those giggling dj's and how they helped his career
Did you even think before you wrote that, peoplevsradio317? Of f'n course they were a great help but what Bogframe means is that a song always sound better without distractions - such as giggles no matter how much they helped puttin' the music out there.
Yeah. Bob & Tom definitely have helped guys like Paul get their names out there. BTW, the "real time" version of that radio performance of this song is up on TH-cam. Just search for it. "paul thorn bob & tom"
im a type of metal guy ac dc sabattath but this spoke to me. i really enjoy the old country sound also. I love your sound paul, thank you , i stubbled on this by accident. But very pleased
What a helluva singer and songwriter. You got to love a guy like that. Straight forward. Nothing phoney on him or his work. Wisdom and humor are a great combination fot a bluesy song like this. Wish we could have him over here in Europe for a tour.
Mr. Paul, I'm sorry to say that I just discovered your music. It's the best music I've heard in a real long time. Love the true connection to the good Lord, your family, music and your fans. Your daughter's voice and talent is awesome. Thankyou for being genuine. Your music makes me laugh & it touches my heart. I just wanted to Thankyou for keeping it real. Stay blessed
10 years later it's still a good song Yesterday I carried a speaker on me to work and afterwards I didn't feel like talking and was kinda irritated so I played this song on repeat No one bothered me Not even my asshole of a boss He saw my face and heard this song and just walked on down the line
I heard this on Bob and Tom a long time ago, for some reason the song popped into my head and came over to You Tube to see if there was a video, score. Paul Thorn you rock, love your song.
Hey Paul nothing like waking up in the morning and listen to your music very uplifting. Just to let you know Paul within the next couple of weeks Lisa and I will be in our apartment hearing Maryville Tennessee. So from my family to yours and to your band we wish you a very blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for being a really good friend Glenn and Lisa Ewell Maryville Tennessee
Had no Saturdays, sundays, or holidays of for nine years and had to deal with park visitors who would shit on the floors of our showers, in the sinks, and even on the walk ways outside the restrooms.
Paul used to play every Wednesday and Saturday night at a little place called The Friendly Tavern in Tupelo, MS. I always knew he was awesome. I drove him crazy probably, lol. I was crazy myself way back then. You done good Paul. Real 👍 good.
every so often I come over here on you tube and crank this one out usually for my enjoyment but sometimes I jack it up to 11 for the neighbor. reminding me of those months down in Mississippi back in 2004
Jackie Mckay Oh that's great...I'm so glad she loved our Country and my beautiful city of Sydney.... Does she plan on coming over again? I would love to join your circle and shall add you to mine if that's ok with you... cheers x
It's so weird that Paul is still working at a tire shop in Corbin, Kentucky. With his talent he for sure should have been in Knoxville or even Ashville. Some great tire shops there. .. Who knows? A little training could have made him a muffler man. Sky's the limit.
I’m still coming back to this to have a laugh on bad days lol. Best song ever!
That blues guitar sound is just amazing!!!
fuck yeah!
Ran into this on you tube a couple years ago love his music.
I can't get enough of this song! But seriously, we have all been there, haven't we? Honestly, how many people are out there just trying to keep things under wraps just to avoid being sued? Thank you Paul Thorn for being a voice for all of these people.

Are you kidding....? That “alien” version kills me and really turns a bad day around. That said, Paul’s version ROCKS!
It's annoying.
I like the alien.... Here is cute. Reminds me of a .....what were they......imp? Saw 'em on or a movie.. can't temember
I dislike anything that sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks, so I'm right there with ya. I like the soul in this man's voice.
Saw him in Fayetteville after way too many beers.
It's good to finally hear this without it being compressed or with giggling DJs in the background. Great song!
called radio
it is those giggling dj's that made this get 2 million views....otherwise most of us would have never heard of this guy or his song...ask Paul how he feels about those giggling dj's and how they helped his career

He opened for The Mavericks on Sat night. It was my first time seeing him. His banter between songs was hysterical!!
He was also a boxer on his younger days, fought against the great Roberto Duran
im a type of metal guy ac dc sabattath but this spoke to me. i really

We had the privilege to see Paul Thorn last night in Newberry SC. Great show!
Some days, (and lately more days than not), this song just hits home.
Paul is the George Carlin of southern music! Pure genius.
Scott Bennington exactly. that can't be more accurate

Just seen him live . Like ,just left the gig lol what a great guy and awesome band!
This song has gotten me through a lot of hard days at work!
Wow, can't believe I never heard this. Great Art, always has truth and vulnerability, and Brother, you nailed it!
He has some off the wall stuff like "joanie the jehovah witness stripper". Have you heard that one?
I had no idea this guy used to box. This guy went 7 rounds with Roberto Duran. So, this song is probably pretty damn sincere.
madskrillz2 he lasted 7 with the hands of stone. geez
james crowe 9162741874 minutes
madskrillz2 i
madskrillz2 he has a song about it called "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail"

He was a boxer??
Yes, I have had one of those days....Thanks for doing what you do!!!
Great song and great sound.
Had a few of those days myself. Appropriate for those times when you need something to get through that moment. Thanks, a great tune
Best to hear you Paul... Keep singing for us here in TUPELO
Considering he once gave Roberto Duran (Hands of Stone) a good fight, he could. Great song and just one of many by a great talent.
An All-American working-class standard in my book. You're awesome, Paul. Thanks!
