Corey Stuckey I know DAC has a lot of racist lyrics, but in this particular song, the phrase "working like a n****r" is actually an old saying that means "busting your butt doing hard work for little pay." It probably wasn't even intended to be racist. That's just how some people worded it back in the day.

This is easily the best recording of this song, and the fact that spotify took it off because it says the n word baffles me, every rap song can say whatever they want about shooting people and blasting the n word max volume, but a 40 year old song that says it once is "bad"
Even better is how much more offensive it is if you know the original lyrics. You're basically calling black people slaves in this version, where before it was almost a compliment. But hey, this is from the same crowd that pushes "LatinX" on minorities who want nothing to do with the label but whatever.

Best country song period.
David Allan Coe is the epitome of something that folks don't realize I'm a stuck up piece of crap in a wheelchair but David Allan Coe Willie Nelson Merle haggard and Willie Jennings made the backbone of what happens to people when they decide to become a personality and something special in this world thank you for listening and by the way good morning
Spotify should’ve never removed this
@@stephenh2319 I don’t like that version as much because David sounds a lot older and it sounds like his voice is a little weaker compared to this version
@@wileecoyote721
I don't like it because it reminds me of the trouble this country's in. I'll tell you, if having the epitome of a spineless man be the leader for the spineless cretins, the man who participated in the problems these cucks cry bout, well if that ain't disgusting it's a damn good joke. I just hope it comes to a head while I still got energy and not decades from now. Now I'm mad again. By the way, I ain't never heard that version and never been on spotify, so thanks for the knowledge.
Stay free...to hell with safe
This very solution, alas, is one of the very things this greatest country is founded on. Too bad that the snowflakes are trying to destroy what makes this country great. They won't be happy until everyone's down on their level of incompetence.
@@stephenh2319 it’s not back up though. It’s a totally redone song, the cadence with which he sings is different and the tempo is also completely different. I disagree with the use of the word, but I’m also deeply unhappy with the new version.
Very true
My dad passed yesterday, he’d play this song on long drives. R.I.P David Kuzniar 1978-2020

Great song. This guy is the real deal.I saw him in concert in the 1980's.He had a guitar shaped like a pistol. He was and is a pure country artist. No hollywood bullshit with him.
all he did was sing a bunch of Uncle Cracker songs when I saw him in Myrtle Beach almost exactly 20 years ago

David Allan Coe is legendary. Can’t believe they would take this song off of everything. They get offended way too easily.
Echoed in the sounds of silence
I would believe it. The song doesn't glorify kcalb criminals, therefore, it's racist. What I can't believe is that it's still on WokeTube.
@Daniel Rosales double standards. Either it's racist in both genres (rap and country) or it's not racist. Either way, who cares. Regardless, rap and racism are two of the worst things that have happened to this world so far
Waylon Jennings old unreconstructed
I'm out of the loop. Why is he controversial?
This is how it was for a whole lot of us back then. It really is that simple.

The amazing thing about this song is it really has one of the best outros of all time...
This is easily the best recording of this song, and the fact that spotify took it off because it says the n word baffles me, every rap song can say whatever they want about shooting people and blasting the n word max volume, but a 40 year old song that says it once is "bad"
Lil Durk literally says cracker on no auto durk yet they say its art so its okay
Such hypocrisy
Even better is how much more offensive it is if you know the original lyrics. You're basically calling black people slaves in this version, where before it was almost a compliment. But hey, this is from the same crowd that pushes "LatinX" on minorities who want nothing to do with the label but whatever.
