    UPDATE!! Hey y'all! Just a quick update...If you cut your chicken breasts in half like I do in the video, you only need to bake for 15-17 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165°F. If you leave the chicken breasts whole, make sure you at least pound them out a bit with a meat pounder, and then bake for the full 20 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165°F. And you definitely HAVE to try out this seasoning mix!!! It's the BEST! Enjoy and as always have fun!❤️

    Something I do in addition to this is do a rosemary butter that I drizzle on after taking them out of the oven. Rich flavor from the butter and great aeromatics from the rosemary. Delicious!!!

    Hi Marsha- thanks for the wonderful video ! I was suprised at the cooking time as I saw another video that cooked at 425 degrees x 18-20 minutes but didn’t cut the breast in half ?
    Would think yours would be overcooked or the other undercooked but they both looked great !
    Thanks

    • @maplejubilee
      @maplejubilee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Steve! Great question. And you are exactly right. The time frame of 20 minutes works a lot better if the chicken breast is left whole. I've noticed that when I cut it in half it only needs about 15-17 minutes at 425 degrees. I've been meaning to update this on my blog, so thanks for the reminder! However, even when I leave it whole, I do still need to at least pound the thick part of the breast to flatten it so it cooks evenly and in 20 minutes. If you don't pound it with a meat pounder or rolling pin (like i do), then the thick part of the breast may not be fully cooked through in 20 minutes.

    Your chicken reached a high temperature. Did it come out dry? Would you cook it for less time next time?

    • @maplejubilee
      @maplejubilee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I would cook it for less next time, only because I cut it in half. I should have kept it whole and just pounded the chicken a bit to even out the thickness. Either way works fine but if you decide to cut it in half then only cook for 15 min.

    • @maplejubilee
      @maplejubilee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect. If you decide to keep your chicken breast whole without cutting it then let it cook for an extra 3-5 minutes. I recently decided to not cut mine in half just because I didn't feel like it lol, and at 20 minutes it wasn't 165°F. So I put it back in there for 5 more minutes and it was perfect! But the key is definitely letting it rest and soak up more of those juices after you get it out of the oven!😉

    Do you raise the oven rack higher to cook the breasts?

      I personally don't. I just keep my rack in the middle of the oven.

    If im using aluminum foil is it ok to cover them up with foil while baking so it can stay juicy?

    Great recipe.... love it. But I place my faucet in low and very carefully rinse them... and place in a glass dish. I then wash my hands really really well, then I sanitize my sink with bleach spray... rinse then my alcohol spray.....I am ocd... but I feel better after knowing I rinsed my raw meat.

      That sounds good too. I think whatever you feel most comfortable doing is what you should do. 😊

    This looks so yummy! I always filet my chicken breasts because they are too big.
